(5 stars out of 5). My group had a fantastic time at this house. It was so wonderful to get away from it all, enjoy the fireplace, the gorgeous setting, and great food that we cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. The view of the stream going around the house is unreal. The decor may seem a bit dated, but it adds to the charming Vermont experience. The house is a quick drive to mount snow and downtown brattleboro, where there is tons to do. • We went skiing at Mount snow, explored downtown Brattleboro, and hit up a really neat pub called doogan's tavern--all just a very short drive away. The owner was so accommodating, and she will help with anything you should need. The house is also stocked with all kinds of games, so u can stay in at night and have a great time with friends and family.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

(5 out of 5 stars) My group had an awesome time at Mt. Snow this weekend snowboarding and staying in this house. We had so much fun cooking together in the well stocked kitchen and the living room was so cozy and perfect for us to gather around the fire place to make smores and roasted sweet potatos! The house is very close to Mt. Snow and also downtown brattleboro (which is very charming little town). The owner is very friendly and accommodating which is a huge plus when renting a place for the weekend!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: A dedicated nature-lover, artist/designer, flea marketer, massage therapist. Former NYC dweller who consequently traveled and lived abroad for many years (Hawaii, Italy, Bali), to finally return to my NE roots. Life in Southern Vermont stands up amongst the very best of locales. Serving this vacation rental and others, affords me the opportunity to share years of travel, tourism and property experience by hosting my valued vacation house guests.
Why the Owner Chose East Dover:
The unmatched, year-round, always changing scenic beauty of the area. Minutes from top-rated ski resorts. The friendly, nostalgic character of this large victorian era house and woodsy, stream-side setting, yet conveniently situated in the hamlet of East Dover. Proximity to my studio/residence in Brattleboro, other small towns and the larger cities (NYC, Boston).
The Unique Benefits at this House:
With friends around a crackling fire, it's a great place to spend time, feeling transported to a nature refuge, yet near to all conveniences. For those not familiar with Southern Vermont, there's lot's to discover -lively, warm people from all over that populate the hill towns, delicious local fare(maple syrup, cheddar cheese) and classical New England architecture, for example. Many artists, writers, even a few celebrities have homes in the area for these reasons and more.
