We had our extended family here to celebrate my daughter's law school graduation. The house was wonderful because it was all on one level, very spacious, large sitting areas, wonderful deck and porches, close to downtown, large yard and pier, easy parking. After graduation we had a party and it was absolutely perfect. Joy was very helpful in helping us find the perfect house for my family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

Everything about our stay in this lovely home was outstanding: close to the city yet felt peacefully removed. The owner went out of his way to accommodate our needs. We were gathering from various parts of the country for a family wedding, 90th birthday and 1st birthday. While there we hosted a dinner party for 12 for my 90 year old mother-in-law. The owner bought extra glassware and silverware to be sure we had enough for our party! We didn't have internet connection when we first arrived, so he personally came over and got it working, then returned to install additional towel bars in the bathroom for our large group. The home itself is beautiful, restful and beautifully situated on a river inlet, with kayaks for paddling around. All in all a wonderful place to stay and we would definitely stay there again when in Charleston.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.

We had a wonderful experience staying in this house in October 2012. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. It fit our group off 10 comfortably. We spent most of our time there enjoying the view from the back porch. Furthermore, they were very accommodating letting us stay and extra day when our flight home was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. We were happy to stay longer! We'd recommend this house to anyone!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

I and three friends spent five delightful nights at this property. The home is lovely and extremely comfortable. You are wrapped in southern comfort the moment you walk inside the front door. The large, open kitchen allowed all of us to pitch in during meal prep. The back porch was a favorite place to enjoy the large backyard with the up-lighted live oak trees in the evening. The swinging porch bed was a great place to catch a quick nap on a lazy afternoon.. The outstanding feature of this house is having everything one one floor. I didn't give an excellent rating only because two of the bathrooms could be more user friendly - more wall hooks for wet towels and clean clothes and more flat surfaces for toiletries.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time out to post a review of the house. Im glad everyone enjoyed the house. We truly appreciate your feedback and you'll be happy to know that we installed additional towel bars in the bathrooms! Thank you for that suggestion....Hope to see you and your family back again, take care ~ Joy

Four Northeast couples escaped the April chill to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversaries together down South. This wonderful house was the perfect location for us. Other reviewers have already noted the many great features of this house. For us, the kitchen, living and dining room common areas were the most enjoyable features, along with the great wraparound porches. The decorating of each room was tasteful and comfortable. The house gave us ample space so that our group of 8 never felt crowded. The location of the house was also ideal. Very near many stores and restaurants, and very easy to access Charleston over the Ravenel Bridge. Yet at the same time it was quiet and secluded and felt like our private hideaway. The agent was a pleasure to deal with and all arrangements were handled without any issues of any kind. All in all, a great place for groups to celebrate!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, girls getaway.

I booked this house for a ladies retreat for my church and we comfortably slept/lived with 15 women in this house. It is beautiful, well kept and in a perfect location. It is close enough to town to get anything you need/want but far enough away that you can enjoy being on the phenominal poarch. I, as a travel agent, will highly reccommend this house to anyone and look forward to staying there again in the futureRecommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, people with disabilities, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This home was perfect for our family of 8. We could not have enjoyed our stay more. Its close to Downtown Charleston and is perfect for large families in town for a wedding. The house was beautiful and looked even better than the photos. The garden and outdoor amenities are fantastic and a great addition to the property. Joy and her team at Exit Realty were a pleasure to work with and we hope to return next time we are in Charleston.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

As advertized, this is a luxurious house set on a large and beautiful piece of property. Everyone in my party, ages 6 to 86, was wowed by all of the amenities in the house, especially the open and modern yet tasteful trio of living room, kitchen, and dining room, the latter with a great view of the back yard and waterfront. (In short, everything is as beautiful as the photos provided in the listing.) Kayaking and canoeing through the attached creek, surrounded by marshland, was a special treat. We were also eager to tour and dine in Charleston, and the location of the property was perfect: just a two-minute drive from the house to Route 17S, then over the bridge, and you're on East Bay Street or Meeting Street, heading downtown. (Food lovers willing to drop some serious dollars on dinner? We ate at McCrady's in Charleston and loved it.) The managing agent, Joy Williams of EXIT Ocean Isles Real Estate, was courteous and professional at every stage of the rental process. We are happy to add yet another 5-star rating for this truly memorable experience.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property more than met our expectations. It is beautifully decorated and designed. One of my favorite features was the butler pantry area with second refrigerator, perfect for storing wine and beer. The boys in the group used the canoes and kayak, and we all enjoyed a day of learning to catch crab in the marsh in the back, an adventure that led to a great dinner. Very easy access to Charleston. Extremely quiet; there are no neighbors, so the screened porch with heat lamps was a great feature at night. We used the grill several nights. The nearby neighbor of I'On has several restaurants, notably Jacob's Porch. Wonderful lunch. We all were grateful for the washer and dryer; it's so much nicer to go home with clean clothes. We would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

After much searching, we rented this wonderful property for the week preceding our daughter's wedding over Labor Day weekend. With family and friends traveling from out-of-town to help us celebrate, we wanted a central location where everyone could gather and relax with plenty of room to spread out. One of the huge selling points for us was that it was all on one floor and that a handicapped access ramp was available - perfect for my 93 old mother. Eight of us stayed in the house but we regularly had 12-14 for dinner and hosted a bridal shower for about 25 with no problem. In addition to being just minutes away from downtown Charleston and the beaches, there is a great produce stand right at the main turn off and then just across Rt. 17 you have Whole Foods, Trader Joe, Harris Teeter, Melvin's BBQ (fabulous - be sure and get the "Golden Secret Sauce"), a dry cleaner, nail salon, etc. - and yet, when you get back to the house you feel like you are on your own private estate, miles from anywhere. The yard is huge and fenced - total privacy - the dock is new and there is excellent crabbing to be had! The two porches are a treat. We used the open porch in the mornings for coffee, breakfast and the papers and then turned to the screened-in porch in the late afternoons. About the management staff - we had a few snafu's on the day we arrived and even lost our air-conditioning later in the week but Joy was extremely responsive and each issue was resolved within an hour or so of our calling. Joy also answered numerous questions ahead of time and was a valued liaison with the owner. The listing description is entirely accurate although the third bathroom is small and only has a shower. If you're staying in the master bedroom watch out though - the bathroom is so big and fabulous that you'll have lots of visitors!!! Of course there is lots to do in the area but we were totally happy "at home." Except for the wedding, we literally went out for one meal and that was on the very last night. Huge, good recommendations for this property. We loved it every minute of our time there.Recommended for: Pet owners, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I am so glad you all enjoyed your time at the house and in Charleston. Thank you so much for those kind words and for treating the house with such care and respect. You and your family are welcome back anytime! Best, Joy
