Our charming home has been renovated with the vacationer in mind. Green and sustainable practices were used in making this a super clean and allergen free retreat! Wood floors showcase a unique collection of Vermont antiques from the 19th century to mid-century modern. New mattresses, down-alternative bedding, and sofa are very cozy. Private yard and courtyard offers the perfect spot for a picnic or just relaxing. Separate out building called the 'annex' is a large open creative space. Whether you'd like to paint a watercolor, do yoga or meditate. Located within walking distance of the Dorset Green and H.N. Williams Country Store. Minutes from the Dorset Theatre, Southern Vermont Arts Center, Dorset Quarry, Northshire Bookstore, shopping, ski areas and golf courses.
Your stay here is much more than renting a house. You'll find a welcome gift upon arrival along with a surprise home cooked food such as a pot of soup or a decadent dessert.
Lots to do around Dorset/Manchester: Check out the Northshire Bookstore site for events that relate to books and sustainable design discussions. The Manchester Chamber of Commerce website has many events listed on their events page. Also, check out the Dorset Theater Festival and the Dorset Players.
Of Course there is lots of snow shoeing and skiing cross country at the Merck Forest and Farmland Center just up the road, see their web site as well as Hildene where the skiing is a little more tame,

My husband and I like to rent chalets every year in Vermont for the week during Christmas. This was our favorite for our family of four. Our girls (ages 7 and 9) fell in love with the playroom upstairs. The house had everything you could desire and Nancy, the manager, was so friendly and soooo responsive. She had hot soup waiting for us on our arrival! It is cozy, but with 3 bedrooms there was still more than enough space since the girls chose to sleep together in one room. The listing understated the exceptionally clean, well appointed house. Would definitely stay here again! As a matter of fact the girls have requested it!!Did you find this review helpful? You'll be welcomed to this newly refurbished retreat cottage with wine and cheese. We also received some delicious and fresh home-made granola! Every room was impeccably clean, and comfortably furnished in a mix of antiques and modern. But don't be mislead, these antiques are odorless. The bathroom is spa-like and sparkles. The mattresses were 'just right', with cozy bedding. We didn't cook much during our visit but this kitchen is chef-ready. The cottage's manager, Nancy is enthuastic to share the area's attractions and local hotspots. You won't be disappointed should you decide to vacation here. Whether your intent is to read all day and escape from the world or fill your days with non-stop activity, you'll feel you've chosen the perfect home away from home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: It is sugaring season...with some great spring skiing also. We look forward to having you stay in our home again.
