Relax at a tranquil,quiet retreat in this recently updated studio /1 bath cabin. A detached, private one BR cottage with a covered loggia/ porch also stands on the property for your use.
The studio/1bath main cabin, remodeled in 2007, provides a double bed and a convertible double futon for sleeping. When the weather warms star gaze and sleep on the padded lounges outdoors on the patio of the guest cottage.
The bathroom though compact has a bathtub /shower with new slate tiles and all new fixtures.
The separate one bedroom cottage and covered porch has 2 twin beds that could convert to a queen. In the evening relax outdoors with the wood burning stove in the patio with additional benches for overflow outdoor seating/sleeping if needed.
An updated simple kitchen has a new stove, refrigerator,sink and storage with plenty of cookware. The cabin has bright light from 4 windows and a french door. Within minutes of stepping outside you can climb the rocky slopes to enjoy pristine views, privacy, gorgeous sunrises and sunsets while hiking or exploring this 5 acre site that borders BLM / wilderness property.
In spring after a lite rain the property explodes with unbelievable desert flowers with purples, sages, blues and whites carpeting the sand.
World class climbing and hiking at Joshua Tree National park offers exciting experiences for the novice and the expert. We are 15 -20 minutes from the North entrance of the park. The park is renowned not only for its world class rock climbing. It also offers excellent hiking with hundreds of trails ranging from easy nature walks to strenuous mountain hikes.
The local area has plenty for you to discover in addition to the beauty of the national park. The village of Twenty Nine Palms is a short drive from the cabin, where you can check out the Park Visitor Center, explore the art galleries, hunt for treasures at local Saturday Flea Market or check out the High Desert Nature Museum.
The Joshua Tree/Twenty Nine Palms art scene, eclectic and prolific, hosts regular gallery openings and boasts nearly 200 artists living in the area. There is an Open Studio Tour each fall, and many artists welcome visitors at other times by appointment. Live music can be heard almost any day of the week at the 29 Palms Inn and the local towns hold annual music festivals in the spring and fall.

My brother and I stayed here while spending a few days visiting my son, a Marine stationednearby. It was perfect for us; we wanted a quiet place out in the desert and this fit the bill. It's well-kept and clean, with a level of amenities and decor you don't usually find at this price. It's not big and it's not fancy, but you get more than you pay for. We really liked the beautiful views, the fire pit out back and the nice new Weber grill. And having a second small cabin (albeit no bathroom in it) is a really cool touch... my brother stayed there and it gave him some privacy. The porch with the wood-burning stove attached to the second cabin is really nice, and a couple people could sleep there (there's platforms with cushions) in warm weather. All in all, a very nice experience and we would definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+.

Quint and funky, well stocked kitchen, clean and very private. Fabulous views from backyard mountain peaks. Close to town. Easy access to Joshua Tree Park. Eclectic antiquing in local towns.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: I purchased the property in 2007. As a teenager I have many fond memories of exploring, camping and hiking in the Mohave desert with close family friends. I enjoy the remote, clean simple living the desert promotes. My son and I have enjoyed remodeling the property and exploring the surrounding hillsides and Joshua Tree Park. Our property coordinator, Tom, who lives in the area, will answer questions about our property and make your stay easy.

We purchased the property as we have family in the area and love to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Simple pleasures,incredible views, complete privacy ,relaxation, no distractions, and remote beauty are part of the allure of the desert experience.
