  The view from the deck is nice. But the house is way overrated - particularly for the price. We were supposed to stay 5 nights but left after 4. To start, the house sits on the edge of a trailer park, with small trailer homes (some with full-on junk piles in the front yard) literally a few doors down. Made us a little uneasy about leaving laptops etc. in the house. The house is divided into 3 sections -- the main house (original home), basement rooms and master bedroom, the latter two of which appear to be add-ons. The main house, where the kitchen is, is very small. It has a tub shower. The only stall shower is on the other side in the newer master bedroom section. But it at times smelled like a sewer. There is no dining room table or breakfast table inside the house, so you have to eat outside on the deck, which is fine unless the sun is blasting the deck in the afternoon/evening. There were no chests of drawers or anywhere to put clothes in ANY of the rooms; my 80 year old parents had to pull out an ironing board to put their clothes on, until the owner (after arguing with me about how I should just live out of my suitcase) brought 1 chest of drawers for them - the rest of us lived out of our suitcases. There are no towel racks either. We made do, but felt this house was not really set up for renting. Finally a word of warning -- this house in my opinion is not appropriate for small children (younger than 5) or for older or handicapped folks. The stairs down to the newer sections are extremely steep -- like Navy ship stairs; therefore my elderly parents stayed in the original house the whole time. Likewise the climb down to the Lake is very rocky and is not for small children or older folks. We left with a bad taste in our mouths. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

  We loved staying in this home. The view of the lake from the deck is breathtaking, especially the sunsets. The house was spacious. There were lots of amenities provided such as towels and kitchen supplies. Patty and Craig, the owners, answered all of my questions and went out of their way to help us whenever they could. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

  Wow!!! What a great view of the lake. The house is big and beautiful. We had three different families and had plenty of room. We loved every minute of it and can't wait to go back again.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  Our stay at this home was incredible! Even though it was considered the "off season", we enjoyed gorgeous weather and never got bored with all the activities! Great kitchen and deck. Perfect for grilling and watching the sunset. We have rented several homes through VRBO, and we found Craig and Patty to be excellent hosts. Very accomodating. We highly recommend this home!

  Our family had an awesome vacation at this beautiful home on Canyon Lake! Very spacious, great game room for the kids, had everything we needed and more. It was so relaxing to enjoy dinner on the deck in the evenings with the great view. We will be back this summer - Thanks for everything!
