The beach is only one of many attractions and activities in this Atlantic coast beach village. So come and enjoy our one level beach house with open floor plan on private vegetated lot. The house overlooks the 9th fairway of the Crystal Coast Golf Club, the only golf course on the island. We are walking distance to the golf clubhouse. Tennis courts are available for rent. Walking to the beach takes minutes. Free access to private beach parking lot and free access to sound side boat ramps. Kayaking, canoeing, kite boarding, wind surfing, water skiing, fishing, shrimping are all possible from the sound side accesses. The lot is big enough to store a boat. Several water front restaurants and pubs are within 15 minutes drive. Fresh seafood places close by. It's usually oyster season from September through April.

We had a lovely 2 week stay in your rental; the large living space allowed us to entertain visitors, cousins, in-laws, high school class mates AND their children (but not all at the same time :-). The kitchen is well supplied for our large family plus hosting dinner guests. The short walk to the sound made it possible to drink our morning coffee while watching the sun rise over the water. The surplus of boogie & skim boards significantly enhanced our daily trips to the ocean. Having internet access was a welcomed priority compared to other homes we've rented in the area. The convenient location made it easy for us to ride our bikes to/from the grocery store, the beach access & around the friendly neighborhood during the July 4th parade up Oakleaf.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

While we loved the roominess of the octagonal design of the structure and we did not mind that it showed its age, we were greatly disappointed in the over all condition of the property. The deck was unusable and not safe. There were cabinet doors missing. The beds were horrible, awful, terrible. The location was great! The private beach access was great! The private community was great! The room sizes were great! It just needs some major TLC!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: The deck is getting repaired and stabilized this week. We were unaware of it not being fixed, since we ask the maintenance person to fix it several weeks ago. Thanks for letting us know. It's the first time any tennant really complained about the beds, and we realize they are not the best;but, certain things will not be perfect in a house that rents for half the price others rent for that is similar in size and neigborhood. We have had repeat customers for four years in row now; all of them thinking it is a great deal for what you pay. The house gets cleaned weekly before being rented out and stays clean. Our place is rented all summer long except for one week, we believe. While the house needs some TLC, we have to realize some folks might not always be satisfied, regardless. Thanks for the input and we will try our best to improve overall condition of house.

About the owner: We are four owners all living in Raleigh. Two of the owners are in the IT consulting business and the other two are in environmental consulting.
Why the Owner Chose Pine Knoll Shores:
Pine Knoll Shores is conveniently close to Raleigh (NC), Richmond (VA), and Washington DC. It is one of the cleanest beaches and clearest (emerald looking) waters on the Atlantic Coast. The house itself has an open floor plan making it a great place to relax. The lot is private with alot of trees making it unique for beach property. When the wind picks up and become unpleasant to be on the beach, we spend our days in the yard under the trees reading a book or playing with the kids. There are so many other things to do besides going to the beach.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
It's private yet it's a short walk to the beach. The house comes with access to private beach parking and sound side boat and water access. Shops, seafood stores, restaurants on the water are a few minutes drive away. The house sits on the 9th fairway of the island's only golf course. A round w/ cart cost about $40; less w/ specials. We literally walk to and from golf making it easy for the wife and kids to have a car available while playing. We love going for bike rides with the kids since traffick is slow and safe. Cooking oysters on the grill after a fun day at the beach is always a must when in season.
