Kill Devil Hills cottage description
Say Hello to our friend! 'ALOHA' is a relaxing and clean- centrally located- 4 bedroom, 2 full bath, 3 level beach cottage located in KIll Devil Hills N.C.at Mile Post 9, between the highways, 1 lot back from beach road with great ocean views.
The cottage has 1 king bed, 2 queen size beds and 2 sets of bunkbeds, with 2 full baths and an outside shower with ample changing room. We have a hot tub that is professionally maintained year-round. A ground level drink cooler keeps your favorite beverages chillin' so you can stay hydrated! The cottage has two decks that face the ocean with full sun all day up top with plenty of shade on the bottom deck.
We have a public beach access that is a two minute walk from the house that has lots of parking, public showers a bike rack and a LIFEGUARD STAND! ***Note to moms and dads-- the cottage is so convenient to the beach, that if trips are needed back and forth for the little ones, it is easy. One of the many reasons we bought the cottage.
The property has ample parking, a gas grill, basketball court, horse shoes,a volleyball net and a picnic table for a family feast.
'ALOHA' is located where you can get away ,but not be too far away, in a beach neighborhood ,of owners, that are friends. Shopping, drug stores, restaurants, and local 'watering holes' are all within walking distance.
This is our beach vacation home that we enjoy relaxing in, going to the beach, and eating the best food the beach has to offer. If more is needed, then----- The Wright Brothers Memorial, Carolina style golf,--- Jockeys Ridge State Park,--- The North Carolina Aquarium, ----Wild Horse Sighting Tours, The Lost Colony Play and World Class Fishing should be on your to-do list. Cape Hatteras National Seashore and the Currituke-Bodie Island- & Cape Hatteras lighthouses are all within 90 minutes of 'ALOHA'. *** In 2011, Jennettes Pier will reopened in the Spring. It is now owned by the North Carolina Aquarium Society - they have plenty of fun things for the kids to check out. **In 2012 we added ceiling fans/lights to the three adult bedrooms. The cool breeze and white noise has made for even better sleeping!

- Aloha is in a great location at the beach. Mile Post 9 is centrally located between MP1 and MP16. It is also on the high and dry part of the island. When it rains - many areas around MP 1-3 and MP 14-16 suffer lots of standing water. Aloha is positioned right at an awesome beach access. Many people walk by the house to get to the beach. We have heard people say- I wish we were staying there - as they walked past our house!...moreless

Thank you for sharing your wonderful vacation home with us! I have not had such a relaxing vacation in quite some time. The location of this house is perfect especially for children. All of the beds were really comfortable and the house is cute. As the parent of a 4 year old I appreciated the lack of knick-knacks. It was also really nice to have Dare Devils Pizza right across the street. That made for a couple of easy meals. The most difficult part of the week was the packing up and leaving!

Owner response: Thanks for the nice words. We have young children and we bought Aloha for all of the reasons you mentioned. The distance to the beach, restaurants close by for a quick lunch and a TON of things to do near by. From the Pit for teenagers to laser tag/putt putt for everyone else. We are glad you enjoyed yourselves. Anthony
Great Location & Nice Home
Great Location & Nice Home
The location and the size of the home are great! The pictures do not show enough of the home, in my opinion, nor do it justice. We had a cleaning complication when we arrived but Anthony took care of everything and was very nice about everything. He was available if we needed him by phone or text which was great. Overall, a wonderful location and just a short distance to the beach! We loved watching the sun rise and enjoyed the hot tub.

We rented the house for the Flying Pirate 1/2 Marathon. As soon as we arrived we already got sad because we knew we had to leave in 3 days. Wish we could have booked it for longer. Even though we were rushing around and didn't get to spend too much time in the house, it felt like home. So comfortable and so much room. We had 7 people in there and still had plenty of room. Already looking to book it again at the end of the summer. Great place you have and thanks so much for sharing with us :-)

Owner response: Thanks Paula- I am glad you decided to stay at Aloha for the 1/2 marathon- that event has gotten very popular. Hopefully you guys can make it back in August. Next year I hope you win the event after relaxing at ALOHA and carbing up the night before! Anthony
We had a great time at Aloha! The property was as described. When we arrived, my brother-in-law had a problem getting the internet to work. I let Anthony know and he was right on top of it! Got the internet up and running within 20 mins. :-) My kids loved the bunk beds--it was like they were sleeping at home. Did want to mention that my boys enjoyed the basketball court a ton and we really loved the barbecue grill... we grilled out a few times for lunch. All the beds were comfortable and the house was always quiet at night... the street the house is on is really peaceful. Even when the restaurant right next to it is open, there isn't any loudness. Great area! Lovely view of the sunrise in the morning on either of the decks. We loved being there... wouldn't hesitate to return. Thanks, Anthony! :-)

Owner response: Thanks for the great review. I am glad you enjoyed the gas grill. I installed that and replaced the small grill that was there. We love the basketball court ourselves. Aloha is our beach house when we can go-- when we cant-- it is great to know that families like ours enjoy it also. A.D.
Great vacation for my family!
Great vacation for my family!
We had an excellent stay in June of 2011. The short distance to the beach was awesome since we have a 5 year old. The house was great and exactly as it is descibed on the site. Anthony was great to work with and called during our stay to make sure everything was to our liking. We would/are considering a return visit next year and would stay here again.

Nice Property - Helpful Owner

We stayed at Aloha the week beginning Saturday, August 20th. Unfortunately, Hurricane Irene put a bit of a dent in our stay. While we were there we really enjoyed the property. The proximity to the beach is excellent especially since our family includes young children. The owner was also very helpful about making sure we had all the supplies we needed for the children since we were flying in and were limited as to what we could bring. The property is within easy walking distance of a number of good restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Crabby Fries. The listing was accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. Anthony was very helpful and answered many questions. The property is quite central to many of the Outer Banks activities. We would not hesitate to recommend this property and we would stay again if we return to the area. Thanks so much Anthony.

Owner response: Thanks Sherri- Aloha is set up for children and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Hopefully next time the weather will stay away. The hurricane was tough on all involved. Thanks for staying at our beach house. Anthony
Thanks soooo much Anthony for working with us in creating an absolutely fabulous 40th birthday! The property was spacious and comfortably suited our group, especially the hot tub after a night of dancing @ Kelly's. We really could not get over how centrally located the property was from the beach, restaurants, & serious retail therapy! We felt so welcomed in the house and working with Anthony that we are considering making this a yearly event! Can't wait to return - maybe sooner than next year!

Owner response: Michelle-- I am glad you girls had a great time-- it makes me envious of your good times-- but when I cant use the house I am excited that people that treat the house like it was their own are staying there. The best thing about VRBO is the connection I make with my guests. They understand that I am not some big corporation and that I am a real person with a family that loves the OBX just like they do. My guests are doing the exact same thing I do with the ALOHA beach house-- using it as a getaway to one of my favorite places. I hope to hear from you guys again this year and of course next year for your repeat 40th birthday!! ALOHA-- Anthony
We miss Aloha already...
We miss Aloha already...
This house was perfect! Aloha was everything we needed (and more!) for our spring break vacation. The house was ultra clean, very comfortable and nicely decorated. We were centrally located at MP9 and walked to the beach. The kids loved the Wii and they brought their favorite games to play. They utilized the horseshoes and basketball. The beds were all comfortable...didn't even have to miss our king size bed! Everyone had their own TV in their room so that was a plus. Having Wi-fi was a huge plus too; I did have to do a little work while we were on vacation so this made it a lot easier. Loved the hot tub especially when it was chilly out at night. Anthony is great to work with. Very easy getting the rental agreement and instructions on how to obtain the keys. We all felt very welcome in their vacation home. Can't wait to go back next month and next year!

About the owner: We are a family of four that loves the Outer Banks and have beached here since we were kids. We have always enjoyed going with another family. We found that we enjoyed a cottage like 'ALOHA' far more than a motel/hotel. We feel at 'home' for a week at the beach. Convenience being key, with a family.
Why the Owner Chose Kill Devil Hills:
This cottage is easy in and easy out. It has the 'Beach Feel' that we wanted with the ease of entertainment and food all being close. The beach access being so close and so nice was key for us as we chose our home. With awesome morning sunrise views and with plenty of beach activity around you will enjoy this cottage like we do. Our beach house has the views and convenience that make a great cottage and will give you a 'HOME' in the Outer Banks.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Having plenty to do close by keeps the kids busy, and if part of the group wants to stay at the beach while others go back to the cottage, it is convenient that way. With the public access showers it allows you to get the sand off instantly from coming off the beach, something you take for granted until you either have to get in a car or walk forever to your place. Not here-- beach- stop in the Gazebo on the walkway across the dunes-- de-sand / de-beach the whole family, then take a short walk home. The life guard station adds a blanket of security that everyone appreciates. There will be corn-hole tournaments at the local 'watering hole' if you need a break, from your vacation-- dad!
