Tsmungi Inn is a nicely appointed and very authentic accommodation. It has all modern appliances and comfortable furniture. There are bus stops nearby which got us everywhere. There are restaurants and stores close by. Kuni was extremely helpful. He helped us make reservations for an evening show which we could not have done without him. He also helped us with ideas and directions. We stayed there a week and had a very positive experience at this place and in Kyoto.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you very much for wonderful comment!! Did you enjoy Kyoto ( Japan ) with your family? I hope you had a great experience!! When you come to Japan again, please visit Tsumugi Inn again! Sincerely Tsumugi Inn:Kuni

Staff is friendly and helpful. Convenience store, Supermarket, and Subway are easy to access. Many attractions around. Inside the Inn, you'll get everything you need, in good condition. Anything not good? . . . . . . Add a sofa or few chairs will be great, cos' they're more suitable for my old mum. :- )Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for stay our guest house and woderful comment!! We are glad to hear that your family enjoyed our house. Have you enjoyed Osaka ( USJ ) also? We hope your family enjoy. When you come back to Kyoto again, we hope to see you again!! Thank you very much.

With a young baby and an elderly person with us, this was a great place to accommodate our needs. It's situated in a prime location in a quiet alley. Directions to Lawson's where we were greeted was the perfect meeting spot. I would've never been able to find this place on my own. The house itself was immaculate with all the necessary amenities - fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, and all kitchen amenities needed to cook. The house is also close to some good eateries and 10min walk to Gojo Station. Our host was extremely helpful in giving us some restaurant suggestions as well as how to get to places we wanted to see. It was great to get a list of restaurant and grocery store suggestions within walking distance from the house (along with a map on its location). If you are traveling with children or seniors, this is a great place. Suggestion: if you are traveling by taxi, please ensure you ask that directions be written in Japanese characters to show the taxi driver. Most do not speak English nor do they read English letters. It was also be great if you do not have an international mobile that you let the Inn know your estimated time of arrival (based on your train arrival) so they can meet you accordingly. This is especially helpful if you are arriving late at night. I was overwhelmed with the great hospitality we received during our stay. The host was accommodating and extremely helpful! Thank you for making our stay in Kyoto so wonderful!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you for your wonderful comment. I`m really glad to hear your comment and it`s make`s me happy. When you come to kyoto again, we hope to see you again!!

This was a freidly, nice place to stay. If you want to expierence life in Japan this is a great place. From the traditional windows to the relaxing Ofuro( tub) you really get to expierence what life in Japan would be like. I recommend anybody who wants to test drive Japanese life check out this place. This is also a very convenient location. It is not far from downtown Kyoto and a famous Okonomiyaki resturant. Some very interesting spots are within walking distance such as Nishihonganji which was named a world heritage site.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family stayed over the recent Easter break and i must say, it was one of the best experiences we've had. Customer service is beyond excellent. No really. I've never felt better informed or respected by property owners. They even emailed us asking/offering a refund after the tsunami. We declined and I'm so glad for that! Our stay was amazing. It was raining the day we arrived and the staff we on hand to meet us and take us through the house and give great ideas on local eateries and shops. The location is superb. Close to everything but quiet. The house itself is immaculate. beautifully decorated will new and easy to use mod cons. Fully stocked kitchen and comfortable futons! Next time I visit Kyoto, I'll certainly be staying here. I've stayed in a lot of VRBO places - will be using it for 6 week holiday to Hawaii this summer, but our stay in Kyoto was the most memorable - in no small part to the amazing staff and amazing house! Thank you Kiyoe!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you for your wonderful comment and thank you for taking your time to post it. We are very glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed city and our house. We hope to see you again in the near future and have great time in Hawaii!!

Three young adults and two seniors, we arrived on a cold spring afternoon and were welcomed into a cozy, warm, tastefully decorated home which combined modern conveniences with traditional comfort. We were greeted at the door by a container filled with blossoms and oriented to the home by the helpful host. A heated rug and padded Kimono Jackets provided comfort during this cold period. The place was scrupulously clean, new and attractive. The listing photos do not adequately reflect the comfort and attractiveness of this lovely, spacious home. We enjoyed cooking and eating out in the neighborhood. Our stay in Kyoto was very much enhanced by our stay at Tsmugi. I would recommend this home as a base for exploring Kyoto or as a home away from home while on a business trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you for your wonderful review. We are really glad to hear that you enjoed your stay! I hope you and your family loved Kyoto and hope to see you again in the near future!
