This is your Tuscan Dream. A private vinyard, olive grove, and gorgeous views from every window. Swimming pool is shared by only 3 apartments or is available exclusively for guests renting the entire villa. All major Tuscan destinations are under 1 1/2 hours from la Fornella. Florence is less than 1/2 hour away. Rome is 2 1/2 hours by car as are the Cinque Terre.
The La Fornella Estate is located in the Eastern Chianti region of Tuscany, just 18 km to the Southeast of Florence. La Fornella was built around 1400 a.d. and was originally a living quarters for the farming monks of the Vallombrosa monastery.
The villa has been tastefully restored and is now divided into three splendid apartments which may be rented on a weekly basis either separately or together for exclusive use of the villa (in addition to the owners independent residence if desired). The apartments are all very tastefully decorated with local and family antiques and sleep from two to six persons (please see our website listed below for further information regarding the layout of the apartments and photos). Total capacity of the villa is 17, plus six if renting the owners portion.
The apartments share a swimming pool and the 25 acres (9 h) of Sangioves vines, groves and fruit trees surrounding the property. The pool and villa enjoy gorgeous views of the castle, vines and Pelago valley below. Many services are arranged for by the two Friendly, English, Italian, and French speaking owners (one of the owners is American), including a local chef upon request, free Internet access, guided private and group tours for day trips to all of Tuscany, wine & cheese tours, cooking, pottery and language classes, and bicycle rental.
