  Just back from Barefoot Bay and loved it. The home had everything we needed and really did feel like home away from home. Barefoot bay is a great place to visit and does offer many, many things to keep you busy or the quiet to do nothing at all. Sebastian the next town over has many choices for nightlife and restaurants. We visited Capt Hiriams and had a great time. I will definitely be back.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

  We can't say enough good things about our stay. The place was clean and comfortable. The owners were great to deal with and responded immediately to any questions we had. The home had everything we needed and more. Barefoot Bay is a welcoming community with something for everyone....restaurants galore in the area with minimal traffic. You certainly can't complain about being bored! Barefoot Bay has golf, tennis, live music, heated pools and many other activities you can take advantage of. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable vacation spot..

  This home is our new vacation destination! My husband and I were unsure after reading the snake review – but those people could not have been more wrong about this home! The house was impeccably clean and the linens were ready for both rooms and bathrooms. The home was not only VERY clean, but it was also very comfortable and has a homey feeling to it. We had a wonderful time at the community’s various amenities and loved the local dining (Especially Mulligan’s in Sebastian!) The maintenance man came over to mow the lawn and he recommended some local fishing spots for us to try (we are avid fisherman). My husband and I are very pleased with our experience and we are glad that we came. We will return next year and hopefully for many years to come!

  We had a fantastic stay here. Everything was "as advertised" and the community offers a lot of entertainment options. The home was clean and well appointed and everything we needed was there. We cooked a few meals at the house to save some money and enjoyed eating them on the patio. The community pools are great. A couple of days we had a nice lunch by the pool and washed it down with a fruity, umbrella drink (or two)! The kids loved the pools and also tried their luck fishing from the private pier. We rented some cheap fishing gear for 2 days. We also went over the causeway and enjoyed Vero Beach a couple of times. Just a short drive! It's a pretty nice beach there. The owners were a pleasure to deal with and I'd definitely recommend these accommodations for a quiet, relaxing week in the Florida sunshine. See ya next time!

  My husband, three sons, and I had a ton of fun making memories in Barefoot Bay. Upon arriving at our impeccably landscaped rental home, we were pleasantly surprised by the home's cleanliness, welcoming floor plan, and attention to detail. Our linens were crisp; the kitchen was well stocked with all of the accessories needed for cooking; and, the atmosphere was pleasant. When we were not enjoying our cozy home, we had fun swimming in each of Barefoot Bay's community pools, sipping on "boat drinks" poolside, and exercising in the community. To top it off, each of my son's music lessons paid off when they won the community talent competition. In addition to the community itself, the home's close proximity to area attractions allowed us to experience the local sand and surf and venture to the Space Center for a tour. Without a doubt, we will definitely return to this home to make future memories.

  My husband and I booked a last minute stay and were very happy with the accommodations. The property was very inviting and had a lot of atmosphere. Nice lighting, great landscaping and all the things you would need to set a lovely table and serve a romantic dinner. I really liked the pool area and all of the neighbors seemed very friendly and helpful. Any question we had was happily answered by the owners. Very nice people. There are a lot of nice, fun restaurants in the area and good entertainment. Everything was very clean and the linens and personal preferences were thoughtfully addressed. I would highly recommend this property to short term and long term renters. Our children are leaving the nest and we are thinking we might have found our home away from home!

  We had a very traumatic experience at this property with rodents inside the facility and a SNAKE inside the screened-in porch. The Maintenance guy attempted to convince us that the snake was a Black Racer. We have lived on a farm for years. Black Racer snakes usually (when startled) retreat with great haste. This snake fought every attempt made to evict him – he coiled and struck, several times, at me and a broom which was the only weapon that I could locate. With our description, it has been suggested by several individuals that the snake was a Water Moccasin and there are nearby bodies of water. In a quick 20 minute inspection, after the snake encounter, four places were discovered where snakes/rodents can access the crawl space and/or the screened porch and one place where they can access the living area. The entire place needed a thorough cleaning. When we arrived, it was less that ready for occupancy. The beds were not made, laundry in several different modes, (i.e., dirty towels/linens on top of washer, wet ones in the washer and a load in the dryer.) The owner was called and after a maid came/departed (for approx. 1-hour-- leaving us a note that towels were in the dryer and for us to “enjoy”), we discovered mice droppings throughout the facility; a wet soggy telephone directory and several cigarette butts remained on the front porch; the refrigerator extremely dirty (egg carton stuck to shelf); dirty dishes (w/food particles) stored in the cabinets; various pieces of clothing and an empty water bottle (apparently from previous renter) strewn behind the couch and beside one of the beds; bath tub extremely dirty; one of the beds was not made-up at all; limited stock of tissue and one lamp was even minus a bulb. There was an abnormal amount of trash on the screened-in porch from the previous renter. As a matter of fact, the neighbour (across the street) came to make sure that we knew when we needed to dispose of it – apparently, another neighbour (next door) had put it out the prior week and they both were unhappy with how it was being handled. We had rented the facility for one month, but we departed on the 6th day and went to a local Fairfield Inn. The owners were notified and did provide a full refund, but we would not rent the property again. We suspect that the property remains in the same condition.

  Owner response: As the owners, we are again sorry you did not enjoy your stay. As you have stated, we refunded the entire amount of a one month rental although we were not required to do so, because we want people to have a pleasant experience at our house. Although you did stay 8 days, you were not charged the approximate $550.00 for those days. Because you arrived at approximately 11 a.m. and not at the required 3 p.m check in time, the maid had not completed the preparations. She made every effort to do so to your satisfaction in the time you went to lunch and returned at 1 p.m. Florida is a tropical environment and has many animals not found in other states; we had no control over the snake 'visiting' the screen-in porch. Many types of snakes are protected in Florida and migrate certain times of the year; they often are not 'aggressive' unless threatened and carry a fine if harmed. Had you called the Property Manager as you did when you arrived at the house early, the local maintenence man would have responded quickly and properly removed the snake instead of you killing it. In response that the unit is "dirty and infested", we paid a professional exterminator to conduct a complete inspection of the unit immediately after you left. He found no evidence of snakes, mice, rodents, ants, termites, or anything else in the house. A written report was provided. Once again, we would like our renters to be happy. In fact, most of our guests are returning guests. Our most recent guest arrived on March 1 and called me to state the unit was "spotless" and instead of leaving on April 30, could they stay through May? I am sorry this did not work out for you but feel most comfortable that we have done everything possible to remedy your situatio.

  Marvelous. Couldn't have asked for a better vactipon or better people to rent from. Everything was as advertised and our favorite thing was the private beach. I liked that the people at Barefoot Bay had all sorts of activities for the kids to do. We will definately go again next year.
