Aloha,
Thank you for your interest in our Molokai Beach House. It is a nice, comfortable little cottage in Waialua - a small community on Molokai's lush East End. We have 3 bedrooms (1 double bed, 1 queen,1 queen + 1 twin), living room, complete kitchen and dining room, and 1 bath with shower, plus an outdoor hot-water shower. Sitting on the back porch, you have spectacular views of three islands - not to mention phenomenal whale-watching (in season, of course, which is late December through end of April).
The house is right on a private white sand beach on Molokai's lush East End. An ancient fish pond in front makes calm, shallow water for about 200 yards out to the reef. Great snorkeling and fishing are there at the reef directly in front of the house. Good surfing and body surfing can be found nearby. Fabulous hiking to lush waterfalls and historic sacred Hawaiian heiaus is within a few minutes' drive.

We spent the first week of April at the Beach House. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Everything we needed was in the house. The view of the ocean was fantastic. My wife and I had the most peacful and relaxing week that we have had in years. We fell in love with the house and Molokai. The house was clean and comfortable and suited us very well. The beach is your back yard! We walked the deserted beach each morning watching the sunrise. We were able to relax on the back porch while watching the whales. Paradise! We will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Molokai is a very special place and the Original Waialua Beach House proved to be a charming and comfortable home base for our 12-day return visit to the island. We arrived at the beach house after a long and fairly terrible day of travel. Stepping foot in the house gave instant relief and confirmation of good decision. The house suited our group of four well and we relished in the solitude and relaxation it provided. East facing, the lanai offered beautiful views of the sunrise and Maui across the channel. Snorkeling was enjoyed daily and the outdoor shower was treasured after hours of being in the salty sea. The kitchen is well equipped and the washer and dryer were useful. Wi-fi allowed us to keep in touch with loved ones over the Thanksgiving holiday. One of my favorite things about the house was the corner bedroom overlooking the sea. From there - with the wind blowing in palm trees, waves crashing on beach and cool breeze coming through the windows - I found deep and restful sleep. Three friendly outdoor cats kept us company during our stay. We were occasionally visited by cockroaches and lizards in the home. Neither proved a nuisance. While there are homes in close proximity on both sides of the house we did not feel a lack of privacy. By aid of rental vehicle we explored the island - venturing to west side beaches, to Lono Harbor south of Maunaloa, to Kaunakakai for Saturday Market and shopping (stop by the Kalele Bookstore, molokaispirit.com), to the wharf for fishing with Captain Clay of Hallelujah Hou (hallelujahhoufishing.com), to some of the tourist attractions such as Purdy's Macadamia Nut Farm (molokai-aloha.com/macnuts/) or the Big Wind Kite Factory (bigwindkites.com), to the windswept dunes of Moomomi Preserve and the lush and tropical Halawa Valley. We enjoyed hamburgers at the Kaulapuu Cookhouse and pizza at the Molokai Pizza Cafe. We toured Kalaupapa with Father Damien tours, opting to hike the 1,600 vertical feet of trail. A visit to Molokai would not be complete without a trip to the Hoolehua post office to decorate and mail Post-a-Nuts. But, you need not do any of this to really enjoy Molokai. Molokai might not be for everyone, but for the people it is for - simply being on Molokai is a calming and restorative experience. Our time at the Original Waialua Beach created cherished memories and I would not hesitate to recommend stays here to anyone seeking a taste of true paradise.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

I was lucky enough to have a friend of a friend of a friend put me in contact with the owner of this wonderful property in the pre-internet days of the last century. We had an amazing stay, enjoying ourselves so much we returned many years later with our young adult children. The home suited our style perfectly. It is simple almost to the point of being rustic yet was impeccably clean. The kitchen was stocked with enough gear to hold a luau and during our second visit we came pretty darn close. One of these days we will likely return again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

It has been ten years since my visit to the Beach House, one I will never forget. We were there three days before we saw anyone on the beach. Cooked all our meals there and watched the whales daily. It is a bit of a drive to town so stock up on your provisions. Make sure you buy cat food the local cats are great entertainment. There is a market close that serves a great little fish sandwich. If you want quiet paridise this is for you. Fishing and hiking close by and the views are magnificent. I am wanting to return for my 50th birthday.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers.
