Our week in this home was very, very nice and we would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Loreto. The house is beautifully built and very nicely appointed and furnished. It is an extremely comfortable place to stay. The property is well mangaged by the on-site managment company. The photographs are accurate but don't do the place justice. It is nicer than the photos suggest! This is a perfect home for couples, people with older kids who can stay in their own room, double couples (because the two bedrooms are on different floors with their own baths). In our opinion it is not really suitable for more than 4 people because there are just 2 bedrooms with king and queen size beds respectively, unless your kids can sleep more than 2 to a bed. The L-shaped sofa in the living room is very comfortable and could accomodate a child or two if need be. You would have to bring your own bedding or sleeping bags. The entire development of Loreto Bay is extremely well managed. We were there during Hurricane Paul and while that might cause some pretty serious issues, given that it was a hurricane with 60-70 mph winds and about 4 inches of rain in a 36 hr period, the house and the neighborhood held up very, very well. The response by the Loreto Bay Homeowners Association to keep things moving as best they could with standing water in nearly every corner of the neighborhood was remarkable. Big kudos to that whole group. Being in Loreto Bay, near the hotel, was a huge bonus. You get to live in modern structure in a wonderful example of traditional Mexican residential neighborhood architecture but with all the amenities of a resort hotel. We spent a lot of time down on the beach in front of the hotel and at the hotel pool. We used the kayaks and snorkling equipment from the hotel. They were very accomodating to us. The breeze off the ocean and the drink and restaurant service there make it a great choice for lounging. There is also a community pool located back from the ocean where you will meet many residents of the neighborhood and make many instant friends. We strongly recommend this property to anyone wishing to enjoy a Mexican holiday with style, comfort and lots of opportunities to relax between (self inflicted) bouts of recreational fun! Outstanding property, great value.

The home is absolutely beautiful, we (my family) had a great time. There is so many activities, we stayed for 7 days and were busy every day with a new activity....it's definitely a jewel yet to be discovered....The pictures shown here don't do this home justice, once you stay, I assure you will not want to leave.

The accomodations were as advertised. Quality furnishings and upscale appliances. Very comfortable, I would recommend this property to somone looking for a relaxing vacation. Bedrooms are upstairs and down, so that privacy is available, excellent for two couples. The local pool was convenient and never crowded during our stay. I would recommend renting a car, in order to go to downtown Loreto for major grocery and gift shopping. Otherwise, there are small local markets for sundries. Overall, we had a great time.

We have just returned from staying a month in this lovely casa. The casa suited us to a tee overlooking the golf course and Sierra La Giganta Mountains. It is situated very conveniently in the neighborhood only a few minutes to the community pool, golf course or shops. Comfortable king size beds with down duvets make it feel like you are staying in an upscale hotel. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the mountains from our second floor deck...and the star gazing was amazing. Any concerns where taken care of by on site management . This is our second year coming to Loreto Bay and it keeps getting better. We look forward to returning next year.

Our stay was more wonderful than we expected. The owner is easy to work with and very responsive to any questions or needs we might have had. The photos showcase the property and the community. The accommodations and living space (indoors and outdoors...including the lounge chairs) were superb. The home is conveniently located and very comfortable. The cotton linens (i.e., towels robes, bedding, and pillows) are absolutely fabulous. We believe staying at this location, the amenities afforded in the Founders Village (i.e., community center, golf, pool, Sea of Cortez, shops, security, etc.), and it's proximity to the town of Loreto only enhanced our experience and afforded us opportunities to meet other travelers and make new friends. The title of this listing "Where Even the Sun is Not in a Hurry"...sums it up. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay and are looking forward to extending our stay next year.

Owner response: Farlie and Pat, we are so glad you enjoyed our home and the wonderful community of Loreto. We are lucky to be in such a great location within Loreto Bay and have such fantastic neighbours too. You were a pleasure to deal with, and we look forward to having you back with us next year!

This place was a perfect place for my wife & myself to stay over the holidays. We both had a great time & it was very easy to work with the owner. We have stayed at different places over the years & they promise you so much & when you get there it's different, That was not the case here, it was everything we expected. The only thing that I can see that place could use would be some chaise lounges for the deck, but otherwise everything was there for you. As the whole community continues to grow & the airlines increase the flights into the area, this will be the go to place along the Baja. Thanks again Christine for all your help!

Owner response: Unfortunately, the previous two chaise lounges were damaged and we have now removed them (in December, 2011). We are now in the process of replacing them with 2 new chaise lounges. With the time of year, there are limited options locally for the furniture we want, so we need to order them in, which is why there has been a delay organizing this replacement furniture. We appreciate your input...thank you! The chaise lounges have now been replaced!

Was a lovely place to stay for the week. Comfortable, clean - nicely equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds and bathrooms. Good location - lots of nice amenities such as housecoats and thick towels. Took a while for hot water to kick in and never really did so at kitchen sink. Also would have liked a couple of lounge chairs on the roof top patio area for relaxing and reading. But all in all was a lovely place and I would stay here again.

Owner response: We have always had 2 lounge chairs on the deck. Unfortunately, they got damaged by weather and guests. They have been removed and we are in the process of replacing them. The hot water is a function of distance. The brother who arranged this rental also stayed in another casa and had the same issue. He just turned on the water with more force and it got hot faster.

I stayed at the property in August (the low season). It was hot but not as humid as I was expecting. The mornings and evenings were warm but cool from the ocean breeze. The afternoons were hot but we spent most of that time at either the hotel pool, the community pool or in the ocean. The property was what I was better than what I was expecting in terms of amenities and appearance. It was immaculate inside and out and I didn't find even a candy wrapper or cigarette butt on the ground the entire time I was there. There was everything there that I would have needed if I was at home. This included preparing meals at home, doing laundry, going grocery shopping and enjoying an evening at home. There is a general store on the property owned and managed by Evan. He is a really friendly character that can get you anything that you are looking for that you can't find in the store, give you tips on what to do and see and his stories make you smile. The staff were very friendly at the hotel. What I really enjoyed besides the property were the people. Everyone was really friendly and made you feel welcomed. I would go back just to thank everyone for making my experience so memorable. We stayed for 12 days and spent most of it in the resort. We made two trips into town by taxi. The town was nice. I would recommend hitting up the ice cream store as they had some interesting flavours including cucumber chili. Yum! We took advantage of sea kyaking. The waves are not too large and would be easy to navage even for a novice. You can see many kinds of fish and I loved watching the pelicans dive into the surf for fish. We took romantic strolls along the beach at sunset which is also something I would recommend. If you get tired of cooking or don't want to make anything while you are there you can always take advantage of the hotel restaurant, the poolside restaurant or the italian restaurant on the beach. The food at all three were good. I loved eathing authentic mexican fare. So if you are looking for a romantic getaway or just a rest from reality then I would highly recommend staying here. Christine is awesome and I can't put into words my gratitude for arranging everything for us.

We decided to go to Mexico for 12 days, and we thought we would probably divide our time between this resort home and the town of loreto/surrounding areas, but we in the end we spent all of our time here, only choosing to venture out to town on two short occasions. When we entered the home we were greeted by a bottle of wine and a note to welcome us - a nice touch. Since we took our vacation in July we therefore arrived at the least popular time of the year, and this resulted in a very exclusive and private holiday and a great ratio of staff available when we needed them. It was as if we had the place to ourselves, in the lovely and exclusive resident's pool, even at times when wandering the beach! Playing in the pools and in the waves never felt crowded and we didnt need to compete for room at the swim up bar. We were able to enjoy a very romantic 12 days. Yet whenever we walked the streets the working locals would greet us and when we needed some kind of conversation in English, Evan at the general store was more than welcome to regale us with tales from his illustrious past. It was indeed hot, so hot that we rarely did any outdoor activities in the direct sun in the middle of the day. Our 3 year old son was particularly thirsty and we spent plenty of time getting popsicles. When we did activities outdoors they were always in or on the water; playing in the pool, kayaking, wading and swimming in Loreto Bay...watching the pelicans was a favorite activity, and I was surprised how fascinating it was. Despite the intense heat, we were quite happy. It was not too humid, and the air was quite fresh. The air conditioners were plenty and strong, and so were the TV channels. We made some of our own meals in the house and ate the others at the hotel restaurants. On our final night we went to have a special dinner at the Italian restaurant for my birthday and we were not disappointed - the ambiance was good, the service good, the food was fresh and innovative, the music was particularly well suited and unconventional and the dessert was perfect as well. The property was cute, secure, and had interesting features - the windows, fountains, the tiled sinks and large showers were great. I had the highest bed I have ever slept in, which was quite comfortable, and more towels and linens than I could imagine using. I didnt find any problem with bugs, even mosquitos which generally love me. I have to say this was ther happiest vacation of my life.

Loreto Bay (Founder's Neighborhood) is a beautiful, upscale resort with superb security. This casa is right on the golf course, and you can start playing from the 10th or 11th hole in minutes. It still has views of the ocean from the roof deck. It does not have window screens, so either use the AC or put up with some bugs. It is also close to the community pool, the little market, and the Inn (for dinners out). Car rental is really essential, however, as all services are only available in the town of Loreto, and the taxi fee is $20 each way. The owner of this casa is very easy to work with, and the property management dealt with the "little issues" immediately. Thank you, Christine! My favorite part of the day was sunrise - watching the mountains turn from purple to pink - from the deck, or even from the bed. :) I would not recommend Loreto during the summer - it is really hot and humid (and I like hot weather). But spring, fall, and winter - there is no better place.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: To the best of my knowledge, I have not seen any window screens in any of the Loreto houses, and we were not offered any by the construction suppliers. We rarely have issues with mosquitoes around the house. It may have to do with the time of year being summer, and being humid. The windows can be closed. We have fans in every room plus air conditioning. We tend to leave doors and windows open when we are there and there is an inside garden open to the sky that has windows and doors that open to it. I will check with our property manager regarding the window screens. Thank you for the insight.

This casa was an absolutely amazing deal. I have been to other places in Baja before but never Loreto. I prefer the Mexico feeling in places like Loreto and La Paz. I do not tend to be attracted to the busier tourist places. The casa (condo) is in a huge development a few miles outside of Loreto. It is behind the Inn at Loreto Bay. A beautiful facility in which you can use the pool, beach etc. There is also a pool for the casa owners also. Very nice. Being one of the many casas here, this one was in a great location as far as to the pool and to the small store and hotel. The location was excellent. Being such a large development, some of the casas are really far away. This one overlooks the golf course and mountains in the back. Really lovely. I would say that if you do stay here, you would have to rent a car for your entire stay. Otherwise you couldn't explore the area and being a few miles out of town, you might get bored if you were just at the facility all week. We drove north to Conception Bay and south to Playa Blanca. Neat places to go. We did arrange with one of the local divemasters to go snorkeling one day out at Coronado Island. It was fantastic. We snorkeled between sea lions and saw alot of fish. If you dive or want to snorkel, Raphael at Dolphin Diving is great. He also hooked us up with a man named Pancho who took my husband and son fishing. They had a great day catching Yellowtail. There's a lot of local knowledge between those two guys. The casa itself was wonderful. It was large and very comfortable. Our favorite area to be was the top deck. It just felt wonderful to sit up there in the warm sunshine. We had no problems at all with the casa. It is very secure and you do see security people perusing the area. Everyone was so kind. The casas in this facility are owned by predominently Americans and Canadians so if you want to go to Mexico and not be with any other gringos, then you'd be better off in one of the little villages around Loreto or maybe even in town. We were on the go so much that it didn't matter to me one way or the other. Everyone was very nice and I like meeting people from all over the place. So, to wind this review up, I would definitely go back again. There are a few things I'd like to go back to do. I would also definitely stay here again. Like I mentioned before, the view from the deck and the location of the casa made my mind up. If you go to Loreto, have a good one! The owner was great to deal with.
