The villa is only steps to the free island trolley to explore everthing the island has to offer. Load up the beach cart and your only a few minutes from our white sand beach. For those wanting to stay connected, the villa has hi-speed wireless internet and a small desk for laptops and workspace. For those cooks, the villa has all new stainless appliances and a gas grill near the pool. For couples wanting a private and romantic getaway, our villa is the perfect setting.

Our stay at this cottage on Anna Maria Island exceeded all of our expectations. The photos were not misleading... the place felt like home as soon as we walked in. Everything was well-maintained and clean. The beach is right there, and we caught a stunning sunset every night. Having a private pool in the back yard was one of the highlights of this property, and we took advantage of it by starting every morning with a swim. We enjoyed several nearby restaurants, shopping, a sunset sail, and a kayak adventure off Lido Key. My husband and I agree this has been the best vacation we have taken together!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Totally Charming - Absolute Gem. This was our first visit. Definitely will not be our last. Everything was exactly as described and the photo's do not lie. The cottage is cozy, charming, and well appointed. It truly is only 150 steps to the amazing beach and the luxury of having a private pool feels decadent. We absolutely fell in love with Anna Maria Island, the beaches, and the warm friendly people. We also enjoyed shopping on Pine St and at historic Bridge St. For cycling enthusiasts there are bike lanes on Anna Maria and the adjoining Longboat Key. Everything you need is close by. We've booked for 2012 already!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: I am a partner in a strategic communications firm and my wife is a professional photographer and musician. Our favorite activity is spending time with our little girl on the island.
Why the Owner Chose Holmes Beach:
We have been going to Anna Maria Island for many years and decided to purchase a getway in 2006. Anna Maria Island is old Florida, no high-rises, no chains and has a very distinct and secluded feel. When you cross the causeway to the island, you feel if you have just hit paradise in another world.
The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
We love the privacy and coziness of our villa, and the ease of walking to the beach. We have a two and half year old little girl, and she loves playing on the beach, then coming back and swimming. We also love cooking at home and dining outside.
