We were having our floors refinished about 2 miles from this vacation rental, which is, at best, a very trying experience. The absolute saving grace for the hectic week was this wonderful "home away from home" where we stayed. Liz and Rob were very accommodating and direct with us, and we felt like we were staying in a well-equipped, very charming home. It is in a nice neighborhood in North Seattle on an incredibly quiet street. It is convenient to many places in Seattle, especially if you are interested in the University of Washington area. There are ample linens, bed covers, quilts, pillows and the kitchen is fully equipped with all necessary dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. There is also very strong wifi in the house for accessing the internet on a smartphone or pad. They also provide an ipod with a large selection of music (I appreciated the Radiohead and Okerville River). All in all, an almost perfect place to spend time in a true "home away from home."

The apartment is incredibly clean, quiet street, modern decor. Every room has a TV with cable/on demand. Free wifi. They provide you with the basics of everything you need for the kitchen/cleaning products/toiletries. Beds were extremely comfortable. Loved that the living room couch pretty much turns into a bed of its own. Covered parking for no additional cost. Lots of storage space. Awesome deal. Location is right off the 99 (but you can't hear the cars at all), which makes getting around the city SUPER easy. There were even chocolate truffles provided upon arrival. Delicious. Spacious with everything you need. Laundry in the building (was right next door to the unit which was SO convenient). Plenty of plates/cups/silverware. Bathroom has a tub. A great stay with zero hassle.

Owner response: oops! This was a review for another property that I manage. Our house unfortunately does not have cable tv in every room. Sorry. I am working to get this review removed. I hope you find the other reviews helpful though.

We had everything we needed in this cute house in NE Seattle. The owners are attentive without hovering. It is quiet and quaint, lots of 1930s Art Deco decor in the architecture. Not especially handicap accessible. 2 Bedrooms, good sizes & one bathroom. You have access to washer/dryer in the basement. The grounds are attractive with old very large trees. The Master BR bed is comfy! Would definitely recommend and would stay there again. The only thing I would change is more window coverings!

We very much enjoyed our stay at this house, in the northeast area of Seattle. The house itself has a very warm, inviting feel. It is beautifully decorated, and with all original character and charm of an older home. You can tell the home has been well loved by this family for four generations! The master bedroom is large and has a comfy sleigh bed. The back bedroom is quiet and cozy, as well. Kitchen has been nicely updated, and the little eating nook is adorable. Liz was very helpful and easy to work with throughout this process. We hope to come back and stay again!

This charming 2-bedroom house was our (2 related couples) Seattle home for 4 days after a 5 week holiday in the wilderness of Canada & Alaska. It was a great opportunity to relax and chill out, but at the same time take in the sights and offerings of Seattle (of which there are many) before making the long return journey back to Australia. The property is well located in the northern leafy suburbs of Seattle about 20 minutes by car for the Seattle CBD. We did not use the public transport facilities. Prior communication with the owner Liz was friendly and prompt and no issues were encountered during our stay. The house is very well appointed and very comfortable. We dined at two of the local restaurants within easy reach and on another occasion availed ourselcves of the BBQ facilities. Wi-fi internet is available and the local library offers free internet access for visitors for a set time period. We have little hesitation at recommending this property for a relaxing stay in Seattle, especially for 2 couples travelling together.

We voelden ons direct helemaal thuis.

Owner response: from google translation :) - We - husband, wife and two girls of 19 and 16 from the Netherlands - were happy in this beautiful old house with funny details. Attractive, comfortable, clean, fully equipped and in a very quiet neighborhood of Seattle. We felt right at home. Moreover, the owners extremely helpful, and the neighbors also. It was a pleasure after a day in the crowded Seattle full of traffic, to come into the house. With a fire in the fireplace in the garden. We had absolutely the 30-45 minutes in the bus (bus stop around the corner ...) for about! (we were using public transport in Seattle). An absolute must!

Charming, comfortable, and an excellent location. Liz made it all so easy and welcoming. We were in Seattle for a wedding and needed a home base where kids could nap and we could go to and from so location was pretty important. We couldn't have asked for a better location and space. The house is well stocked with the essentials, (coffee pot, can opener, blankets, etc). The beds and linens were extremely comfortable, we were able to do laundry and the big front yard was perfect for the 2 1/2 year old to run around. The fire pit on the patio was the perfect place to sit and catch up with old friends. Needless to say we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

My husband, son and I stayed in this charming home for a week in early May. We were there to spend time with my husband's ailing father. This immaculate and well-appointed cottage was a perfect place for us. It was a very sad time for us, but we always felt we had a warm and comforting home to return to after each visit my my husband's father. The cottage is sunny and roomy as each bedroom is separate by the large living room and kitchen. My husband and I could watch a movie without waking up our son while he slept in the back bedroom. The street is very quiet and we were able to access QFC and some of our favorite restaurants within minutes. The linens were clean and ample. My son loved the backyard and we loved walking around the neighborhood. And Liz was very helpful even when I managed to ruin one of the mattress pads! She replaced it at a very reasonable price. Everything we enjoy is a very short drive from this home: Mathew's Beach, Magnusson Park, the U Village. We would absolutely recommend this property to our friends and will stay again sometime in the future. Thank you!

This is an adorable cottage and it worked well for us. This was our first little getaway since adopting our little dog. It was nice to walk around the neighborhood and felt perfectly comfortable sending the kids out to walk him on their own as well. We appreciated the original features and the more modern kitchen. The house was clean and well cared for. The location was great -- easy access to freeways as we were heading both north and south during our stay. Owners were accessible and helpful but not overbearing and we would consider staying here again.

My husband and I rented this house for 2 weeks when we came to Seattle to visit our sons and grandchildren. It worked beautifully for us. The house was clean and well maintained and had everything we needed, with the exception of a larger table for when we hosted our family. (We have mentioned this to the owners.) The location was terrific, making it easy to access the highway, parks, stores, etc. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay when visiting Seattle.

This little home had some nice touches; the master bed was very comfortable and the room itself peaceful. We enjoyed breakfast in the little nook by the window. It seats two comfortably and three cozily. Our daughter enjoyed setting up the 2nd room for herself with its big closet! Walking to the nearby parks and Burke Gilman Trail were daily excursions for us, and if we wanted more action, University Mall is a short drive away, as are various restaurants and grocery stores. The house does have a few 'old home' characteristics; it does not smell like a new house, and the laundry area is down in the basement. (Which I actually liked, because you don't have to look at it.) It is located in a mellow, older neighborhood. Liz was attentive to our needs, and allowed us our privacy.

This house more than met our needs for a vacation house with small children. For the area, it had plenty of yard space to play and an awesome barbecue/fire pit in the back yard. The boys loved the "special features" like the breakfast nook and the mystery chair in the hall. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals or just a good cup of coffee. The linens were amazing. I would recommend this house for anyone without disabilities. Neighborhood is quiet but friendly (one neighbor showed the boys a baby cooper hawk that hatched and was in her pine tree...with her very expensive camera! Very kind). No complaints at all.

This house was perfect. The location was really nice, and driving distance downtown was only about 15 minutes and very simple. Even rush hour on the way back from downtown never took us too long. The house was really clean, and it was even better than the pictures looked. The bed was so extremely comfortable. I was really pleased to find a few toys in the second bedroom for my daughter to use why we were there. The view from the kitchen and living room side windows was simple and beautiful. Perfect view of the sunset every night. We loved having the fire pit and the grill. It was the perfect place for us, and we will definitely be back when we come to Seattle again.

We had a wonderful experience staying at this cozy little house. We traveled from Salem, OR to meet up with my sister and her fiance, whom were flying into Seattle for their Alaskan cruise. There were four adults and our little 18mo old daughter. There was plenty of room for all of us. There was even a portable crib, high chair and toys for our little one. Great place for families. The home is quaint and decorated very cute. The owner is an artist and her art is displayed throughout the home. Very beautiful. There is a large front yard, nice parking space, a beautiful backyard full of pretty plants, trees and flowers. There is also a nice back patio with a built in fire pit which we enjoyed very much. We are not city people and we prefer to be removed from the city but close enough to enjoy all the city has to offer. It was a quick drive to the city and to the airport. But after all of the hustle and bustle it was nice to come "home" to a place "away from it all". We would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone wanting to stay close to Seattle. And we will definitely be back.

Quiet Street, Nice Neighborhood, Scones and Coffee right up the street! This place was a dream and the owners are very, very kind and easy to work with. You will fall in love with it's early 20th Century charm. I will definitely keep this place bookmarked for future rental when I have family in town!

We loved this house. It had alot of charm, which it is an older house but very well taken care of. The bed is what will bring us back, we could not believe how comfortable this bed was. It is located in a neighborhood which is walking distance to the trail to walk, bike, run or whatever along Lake Washington. We also walked down to the main street where all the little stores are. You still need a car. Downtown Seattle is less than a 15 min. ride, as long as you don't go at rush hour. There you'll see the Space Needle, Pikes Place, and the peirs were the ferries are and some great food.. We had a great time.

Our family is the type that does not like staying in hotels. This house had everything we needed for our stay - ambiance, quiet, and convienence. Our four year old daughter loved her bed and slept soundly. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances as we like to prepare homemade meals. The main room (living room) was comfortable for reading bedtime stories to our two daughters as well as watching a video. The shower in the bathroom was relaxing (a shower massage) and the main bedroom was quaint and quiet (though my wife found the bed mattress to be too soft for her liking). The owners provided a crib and high chair for our two year old daughter which was greatly appreciated by us. The only other drawbacks for us besides the mattress were that there was no electrical outlet in the bathroom near the mirror to plug in an electric shaver (but we managed around it) and that the table when expanded was a bit cramped for the four of us. We saw these as minor issues for us. We would definetly want to stay here again the next time we return to Seattle.
