  Our stay at this cottage was perfect! The decor is so well done that the ambiance screams quaint and comfortable; we loved it! We enjoyed the proximity to the lake and took great walks on the beach, the fall colors and lake were beautiful. The food choices were plenty, yummy and very close to the cottage. It is a wonderful charming place. The owner, Nick is very responsive and helpful. He even had the cottage decorated for the season with pumkins and gourds a plenty. We also couldn't resist a trip to the pumkin patch ourselves, the weekend was great!

  Our group of girlfriends have been getting together for our girl's weekend in Union Pier for over 15 years. Lucky us! We have rented many places, but we all agreed that our glorious weekend at Maison des Reves may have been the best. It is beautifully decorated, perfectly clean and accurately described. The owner is extremely helpful, available and gracious. We plan on returning next year and I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely home to anyone. It is a happy place and has good karma! I guarantee, you won't want to leave!

  It is always a little scary to rent a home for a week that you have only seen on the Internet. Trust this one, everyone. The home looks exactly like the photos posted here, and it is very well maintained and clean. Size worked fine for our party of two adults and one child. The bed in the sleeping loft was comfortable.The location is perfect - short walk to store and bakery and gelato and coffee in one direction and short walk to beach in the other. Having hedges around the entire home gives a wonderful sense of seclusion and privacy. Owner is very responsive and attentive.

  We just returned home from our stay at Maison Des Reves and I'm trying to figure out how we can go back ASAP as it is a true gem! A few things that make this cottage unique: 1) on a quiet corner and landscaped in such a way that you feel as if you are in your own little sanctuary. 2) decorated to feel like a real home and not a generic rental...think vintage finds, architectural artifacts and eclectic art. 3) Owners that have literally thought of everything that you might need on your vacation (small appliances in the kitchen, laundry detergent, a bag for the beach, beach chairs/umbrella). I felt like I was staying at a friend's home! 4) Immaculately clean and very well maintained. The owner is extremely responsive and is truly invested in making this a great experience for his renters. You will not be disappointed!

  I've rented many vacation homes over the years and this is one of the best ever...Clean, comfortable and oozing with charm--it was ideal for our small family. The house is perfectly located just about a block from the beach and a short walk to the grocery store and restaurants. It has a lovely garden and patio, making for several enjoyable evenings grilling outside. The kitchen is spacious and well-stocked, and the living room and large screen TV was perfect for watching a movie...The upstairs loft became my teenage son's 'cave'...we brought our small TV and XBox, and with the excellent wi-fi my son enjoyed his evenings playing XBox Live. We had walks on the beach each morning and observed fabulous sunsets in the evening... we truly hated to leave this peaceful haven. The owners have thought of everything and will make sure your stay is trouble-free.

  We absolutely loved this place!!! My wife, 2 year old and myself spent 7 great days here over the 4th of July holiday. You can tell that the owners take a lot of pride and have put their hearts and souls into this place. Everything you can imagine is provided for a comfortable stay. Short walk to the beach. This place is definitely better suited for couples or a small family like ours. I would highly recommend it and would love to go back.

  I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the "Mason"! The house itself is beautifully decorated with plenty of artwork and many items of interest. The owners obviously took much care and joy in the decorating process and it shows. The grounds are just as beautiful and well cared for. I like to cook and the kitchen had everything I needed for all my cooking needs, including many staples and products I wouldn't expect to find in a rental property. The owners went beyond the call to make our stay enjoyable and hassle free, From the labels on the light switches to the toiletries in the bathroom. Our family of two adults and three teenagers were very comfortable. We will definately be back!

  My family had a wonderful stay at Maison Des Reves. The cottage is wonderfully renovated and decorated. The furniture is clean and comfortable. The views of the surrounding trees from inside from the many windows give you the feeling you are in a forest. The landscaping surrounds the entire cottage and provides privacy while outside, making the whole place feel even larger. The public beach is a quick walk down the street.

  Absolutely the most gorgeous, relaxing vacation home--and I do mean home (this is no cabin) we have had the pleasure to rent in Union Pier in the past 10 years. Beautifully decorated with all the creature comforts of home right at our fingertips. Perfect location---we walked everywhere (to the beach, to the grocery) and nearby access to wonderful hiking and biking trails. Exquisitely landscaped yard and garden surround the home giving the feel that you are in your own little kingdom. Our family had a blast and we will be back to rent from you summer after summer. We will stay here many years to come. Thanks!

  We have stayed at the cottage for a weekend and also a week. A week is too short! The cottage property is peaceful, comfortable, clean, and efficient. The front patio looks out onto a little road and you can sit and watch people walking to and from the beach - but at the same time it is very private and quiet. The beach is just a short walk away, and the little village shops are just down the block. The cottage is comfortable enough that you do not have to fear a rainy day! Comfy chairs and sofas to curl up in for reading and big tables to set up a game or puzzle. This place is worth the drive from Minneapolis!
