We quickly became right at home in this wonderful jewel. The house was clean, decorated beautifully, and easy for our crawling 10 month old and 3 year old daughters. The backyard provided not only a calming place for eating, but a safe exploration zone for them as well. We briefly met the owner and she immediately ensured we were welcome with child-safe foods and brownie bites as well. My husband walked to Stanford daily quite easily and we often accompanied him through the neighborhood by foot and stroller. It is a quiet neighborhood with families and great for exploring. We hope to book again next year!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family (two adults and two small children) spent an entire month at Faith’s home over the summer of 2012 and had the most wonderful time. She was there to greet us upon our arrival and the house was sparkling clean and ready for moving in. The home is well kept and beautifully decorated, and we felt right at home throughout our stay. There was ample closet space, plenty of towels and linens and some goodies in the kitchen and pantry. The house has a great flat screen TV and she even subscribed to children’s channels at our request. Faith had instructions for how to use every kitchen appliance and basic maintenance of the home (garbage collection, mail, etc.) in her absence. The garden out back is like something out of a magazine with strawberry patches, blueberry bushes, lemon trees and amazing assortment of flowers. Most importantly, Faith was a gracious host, extremely understanding and very responsive to our needs and in answering even the most mundane questions for a family new to the Menlo Park area. The neighborhood itself is quiet and close knit, yet very close to downtown Menlo Park and Palo Alto. But the house with the white picket fence stands out as something special. We have every intention of staying again at Faith’s house should we return to the Menlo Park area and recommend it to anyone considering staying there.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our family was anticipating our visit to the Bay area for our daughter's graduation from Stanford for 4 years! We couldn't have chosen a better home for our stay! Every aspect of the home was absolutely perfect for us. The gardens are thriving and lush & the patio was our favorite place to congregate after a busy day on campus. The owner went above and beyond to make us feel at home! I would recommend this home to anyone visiting the Bay area. THANK YOU!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

A group of us regathered in the area after years away for a long weekend to enjoy riding our old routes in the area. The house was perfectly located for our purposes, and offered a very pleasant base for relaxation after our adventures. The owner was very organized, professional, and gracious. The deposit was returned promptly. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

4 of us stayed in this house for a week. It is such a charming house! At the end of the stay, we very much felt like we were at home. This was a business trip for us, but it was quite convenient location, for example, to go to Stanford Univ. I certainly would like to come back again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

6 of my friends and I stayed at this wonderful home for the weekend of the Stanford/Oregon football game from 11/10-11/13. The location couldn't be more perfect for anything Stanford or mid-peninsula. Stanford's campus is close enough to walk if you so desire. Groceries, upscale shopping, restaurants/bars, and access to I-280 are all within a 5 minute drive. The home itself is absolutely charming. The pictures do not do it justice. We particularly enjoyed the back patio where we cooked out and had dinner on our first night. The neighborhood is equally charming. We were so impressed with it that we looked at a listing of a home that is for sale a couple of doors down to see if we could swing it! Our host couldn't have been more accommodating. She's very professional, very nice, and she made the arrangements very easy and comfortable. The house was very clean and very well maintained. I would recommend this house to friends/relatives without hesitation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

So it depends what you are looking for, but for me and for my family, Faith's house was the perfect base for two weeks in the Valley, combining work and holiday. West Menlo Park is a lovely area and the house is seconds from Sand Hill Road, so very convenient for US 280, Stanford and the heart of Silicon Valley. Despite that the area has a quiet and peaceful family-oriented atmosphere and it s a short drive to downtown Menlo Park. The house is lovely and feels more like a home than a rental property. It has a lovely garden, a great patio and all the facilities we needed. Faith is a bonus, she was the perfect host, helpful but unobtrusive, and she was very patient with us when we had some difficulties finalising our booking. We'll be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Faith's adorable cottage was our home base during our daughter's Stanford graduation weekend. I cannot imagine a more comfortable base for this special weekend in the life of my family. The home is very convenient to the Stanford campus as well as to the quaint shops and restaurants in Menlo Park. A nice grocery store and drugstore are just minutes away, so it was very easy to stock up on lunch items and snacks. A most delightful surprise was the large garden in the back which is complimented by a patio stocked with ample seating areas. With roses and hydrangeas in full bloom, it proved to be the perfect stage for toasting our daughter and her friends on their commencement!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Faith is a very kind and warm hearted host. The photos on the website can hardly do justice to her marvelous home. I never had the feeling of being in a rental home, Faith's attention to detail, her cleanliness and impeccable taste made me feel as if in a luxury villa. The kitchen was well stocked and I particularly enjoyed her assortment of high end vinegars. The beds were very comfy. The highlight of my stay was a candlelight dinner in her lush and beautiful patio. There is no other option for me when in the area. I highly recommend this property.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: I have lived in the area with my family for many years. We choose our home because of the people, the weather, and the neighborhood charm. We have a magnificent large yard with citrus, herbs and flowers galore! I love beautiful surroundings and this, I assure you, is a beautiful home full of lovely pleasures and treasures. There are little treasures like the heart shaped vines and the mermaid fountain - it's a magical place where you will feel relaxed and pampered.
Why the Owner Chose Menlo Park:
We chose our home because of the location, the weather, and the neighborhood charm. The weather is ideal here. We sit in a little microclimate that resembles the Mediterranean. Did I mention the shopping? The Stanford Shopping Center is a ten minute walk and a two minute drive. Hiking? Biking? Skyline is a cyclist' s dream and we are very close to several preserves with trails. And you are only 40 minutes from Half Moon Bay, and and hour and a half from Carmel. The house is equal distance from the San Francisco and San Jose airports at 40 minutes. We are across the street a from the Stanford golf course and 10 minutes by car or bike from downtown Palo Alto.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
There is a a treehouse which adults can refer to as the 'wine bar.' it is high up in a 100 year old Live Oak. The backyard patio is nestled under a large arbor with lots of comfortable seating for you and your family to enjoy. There are arches down the side of the house lined with jasmine. A cobalt blue canoe decorates the garden. The lawn is large, green and flat, perfect for Bocci, Croquet, or Soccer!
