Hale Pau Hana was a great location to enjoy our first Maui experience. Right in the heart of Kihei allowed us to walk to shops and restaurants. We found that in that particular area, there weren't too many condos that were right on the beach and we felt fortunate to be in one that was right there. The view from the 6th floor room was amazing (even saw a couple whales) and it was very quiet as well. Great area to sit out in the sun on the grass or on the beach and the pool was perfect. The condo's ammenities were sufficient for all of our needs (perhaps a couple of sharper knives could be purchased) and for 2 people it is a great size. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to experience Maui and enjoy the beach life.

My husband and I have been fortunate to stay the past five years at this rental property. The location puts you right on top of the beach and very close to nearby shopping. When you view the rental photos you will be hooked. The owner is an absolute gem! You will truly enjoy working with him and he is always attentive. Many renovations have occurred inside: brand new bathrooms, new kitchen appliances, new beach gear and fast, efficient electronics for your use. The view from the lanai is spectacular with great sunsets. In fact, we often grilled (four barbecues below) and ate on the lanai as the setting can't be beat. The grounds are immaculate and the heated pool is a real plus. Nice mix of renters while we were there: families, toddlers, teens and retirees. Since the beach is right below, no hauling of all your gear across parking lots and streets. Because of the condo's location you have a wide range of restaurants and shops to choose . During this recent visit we were able to snorkel right on this beach area and see many tropical fish and turtles. The flapping giant whales seaside had the binoculars in constant use. We hope to be able to return again next year to this piece of paradise.

I stayed at August's condo for 8 days at the beginning of November 2012 with a friend. We were visiting Maui for a wedding. The minute we stepped into the condo we loved it! The view is just amazing...you could not be any closer to the beach. The sunsets from the lanai are breathtaking! Probably my favourite thing about the condo and Maui. The condo has everything you could need. I fully stocked kitchen, tons of linens, bath and beach towels, free WIFI and anything else you would need. There are two modern bathrooms, which were a great bonus! There is also an air conditioner in the bedroom, but we never used it because the breeze was enough to cool the condo. There are two bbq's on the property that we used nightly, which are cleaned daily. This was our first visit to Maui and we thought the location was perfect. There are not many condos in Kihei located right on the beach like this one. The beach is one of the nicest in my opinion. It isn't rocky or very busy. There are a ton of shops, restaurants and grocery stores across the street or a short walk/drive away. We are in our early 30's and were the youngest guests at the condo...it is a quiet property and there isn't many children. If I ever return to Maui, which I hope I do, I would definitely stay at this condo again. August was very helpful and takes excellent care of his condo.

Our month stay at this property was perfect. Dealing direct with owner (August) was a pleasure, he was attentative to all our needs and requirements. "You can book this property with confidence". The suite was nicely appointed and included 2 new bathrooms and outstanding water views,. The grounds are ideal with lots of grassy areas and a beautiful pool right adjacent to one of the best swimming and walking beaches in Maui. We plan on a return visit soon and will for sure book unit 606 if available.

Absolute Paradise - You Won't Be Disappointed

We all know Maui is beautiful, and we have visited several times before. This visit, however, surpassed all others thanks to August sharing his beautiful condo at the wonderful Hale Pau Hana Resort. Every aspect of August's description of this condo and property is spot on. The ocean from the 6th floor home could hardly get any closer. Even though the bedroom is situated away from the lanai, you can still hear the ocean . . .lulling you to sleep. This spotlessly clean condo is wonderfully appointed with everything you could possibly want or need. There was just two of us, but having that second bathroom is a real plus. We don't usually sleep well away from home, but the king bed was extremely comfortable and provided both of us with great sleep all week. We were particularly impressed working with the owner, August, direct. He was responsive to my many questions and followed up to ensure everything was going well (and it certainly was). He even surprised us with a gift basket - wonderful Aloha spirit! Checking our calendars for dates to return, because we wouldn't go anywhere else!

This condo has one of the best locations in Kihei - right on the beach. There is a large tree that provides shade on the beach for those of us that can't handle the Maui sun all day long. You can walk from beach to beach for a long way in either direction. The owner was very easy to deal with and attentive. Shops/restaurants - footsteps away.

I researched several different properties in Maui to rent before deciding on this condo. My husband and I are on our third night and it has been wonderful. The condo was clean and as advertised on vrbo. The location can't be beat. It is in within walking distance to a natural foods store and several restaurants. The beach in front of the condo is beautiful and the grounds of the property well maintained. AC in the bedroom was perfect and all you need in Maui. Within minutes, there are a plethora of beautiful Maui beaches. My husband and I have been to Kauai,Oahu and Lanai. We will return to Maui. The check in to the condo was easy and August sent a nice welcome basket to us with fresh fruit. If you do come to Maui, I highly recommend spending a night or two in Hana and hiking in the national park. Kihei is a great location and I would rent this condo again.

We have been to Maui over a dozen times and we have never stayed in a better place than Hale Pau Hana.The beach front location is set on one of the most perfect beaches in all of Maui, and connected to several long beaches that you can walk each day. These 3 Kamaole beaches are sandy, safe for kids, plus coral where you can snorkel close to shore. We saw several giant sea turtles feeding just 20 feet from us on one of our swims. Our unit was very clean and overlooks a panoramic view of beach and ocean with beautiful stunning sunsets each night. The furnishings are very comfortable as is the kingsize bed. Big new flat screen tv, two updated bathrooms,great shower and well stocked kitchen and dining table that looks out at the great view. Pool is clean and well maintained as is the whole property at Hale Pau Hana. Friendly staff. Great for us that it is a non-smoking property but has designated areas if you do smoke that is away from the populated area. Our unit was very quiet and we could hear the waves at night, being close to the beach. Great central location close to good restaurants that you can walk to as well as the short drive to Wailea where there are great places to dine for lunch and dinner. The unit was as good as advertised and even better as there are quality updates like new tile floors, air conditioner and new bathroom updates that really leaves a good impression of a place that has been well taken care of. The owner was very attentive in communicating the sites to see and places to dine and other options for exciting excursions. We recommend this place highly to our friends and family or anyone that wants their stay in paradise to be a perfect one.

This condo was amazingly wonderful. The two bathrooms were a real treat and both beds, the King in the bedroom and the pull out couch were both totally comfortable. The sound of the waves at times could even be heard from the bedroom. I have only good things to say, the view from the balcony is so wonderful, and the grounds are well taken care of with a nice grassy area with lounge chairs to relax and read. The beach is beautiful and we found it to be nice and quiet especially at night. I can't think of a better place to stay in Maui. The option of yoga off to the side oceanfront in the mornings is offered by a local, how convenient is that to get into the relaxation mode. The location of this condo is ideal, with grocery store nearby and many shops to explore and walking to other beaches is a breeze. We even found the snorkelling off the beach superb. GET THIS CONDO! you would not be disappointed.

Our stay at this rental was the best out of our 3 visits to Maui. Being able to step out of our condo and in just a view steps be on the beach plus have the most ideal view of the ocean and the famous Maui sunsets right from our own balcony made it an ideal location. In addition, some of the best island shopping and dining is right across the street. There were daily yoga classes held every morning on the beach right outside the condo and the beach itself was used mostly by just the guests and residents of our building and the next door building. At times it felt like our own private beach. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a vacation of a lifetime.

Maui was simply fantastic, we had fun every single day of our vacation. Thank you for a wonderful condo as well, everything was clean, easy to find, and the air conditioner in the bedroom is a must have to sleep when you come from the cold and rainy mainland. We will be back in future!

Once again we are at the end of our wonderful time on Maui. We love this condo, feels like home. We heard as soon as we leave, they are doing more remodeling, can't wait to see the results next when we will be back. We had a relaxing stress free time at the beach and pool. We met several couples and had some good conversations. Again, Mahalo for your hospitality

This condo is truly a gem. The description above is 100% accurate. WOW, what a view!! Listen to the waves, watch the whales and paddle boarders, even the odd turtle from the lanai. This is the BEST LOCATION in always sunny Kihei (and all of Maui in my opinion); located on a fabulous beach and close to shopping, restaurants, and groceries. Condo is clean, comfortable, and stocked with anything you might need. Who cares that the kitchen is not granite, it's totally functional and it's like real estate...location value beats luxury all the time! Amazing updated bathrooms. BBQ areas were a fun place to meet other guests and enjoy all those gorgeous sunsets. Hale Pau Hana staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager, Tara, and owner August have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. We really felt like we were in Hawaii while at the condo; compared to the Mexico-type feel of the big fancy resorts; and so glad we didn't stay on the other side of the street to save a few bucks. What a wonderful place to get Maui'd and spend our honeymoon; a special place for us and we would love to come back soon. We are a couple in our 30's and would recommend this place to people of all ages and families too. Mahalo, enjoy your vacation :-))

My husband and I travel extensively and this was our 11th trip to Maui. We absolutely loved sitting on the 6th floor balcony at Hale Pau Hana, listening to the waves and watching the whales in the distance. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and so convenient. It is literally on a beautiful beach and within walking distance to numerous great restaurants and shops. This condo has everything we hoped for; a full kitchen, amazing view, easy quick beach access and a really comfortable bed. It was truly a magical trip!

This was truly a great place to stay. The beach is terrific. Nice runs along the beach. Wailea golf courses are a couple minutes down the road. Lots of warm sun in the middle of winter. Great view of Molokini and other islands. I would definitely stay here again. I WILL stay here again.

The best Kihei location. Outstanding ocean view. On the beach. A real beach! Sandy beach, not rocky beach. This is why you come to to Hawaii. Enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian sunset from your balcony. We have stayed in this unit many times over the years and each time it is better than before. You don't get anymore oceanfront than this unit and you are in front of the best beach on Maui. Trust me, I used to live on Maui for a couple years and know of what I speak. Great in town location, with restaurants in walking distances, but faces the ocean. Outstanding unit above it all. Views of other islands and the beautiful ocean with trade winds keeping you cool on your private balcony in the afternoon. Great snorkeling right in front of the complex. If you want a great Maui vacation for the family or a romantic couple getaway this is the place.
