My wife and I spent the month of March here and we couldn't have been more pleased with the place. Everything was as described and better. We travel often and get fussy if there aren't shelves in the bathroom, quality kitchen ware, a comfortable bed, good bedding and towels, and a clean shower curtain. You can put a check mark beside all of these. Lisa, the owner, has put a lot of thought into this place. As for the location, it's ideal. Being in a dead end ally you miss the beach and road noise. Yet if you walk slowly you'll be on the beach in three minutes. We'll rent again without hesitation. D & DRecommended for: Age 55+.

My husband and I went for our 9th anniversary weekend. It was great, just enough room for us, loved the bikes and the house was comfy and cozy as well!!! I would recommend this to a younger or older couple for any length of time stay. If coming with kids they should be older because the space is tight for little ones. If 55+ and not in great health this is not the place because you have to climb steep steps to get to the house. The couch does pull out to a bed so it would comfortably sleep four people.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed here for the week and loved every minute of the stay. The apt is just like it is picturesd; it is small, but very nice and clean and with everything you need for a beach stay! Rode bikes (included) around the area very comfortably, using the back alleyways and sidewalks. Walked everywhere, too, including the short block to the beach. Seafood (the Hurricane) was great, beach is clean and so pretty with a great sunset each night! You feel like a native after a day or so, it is a very relaxing/old beach type area with tourists and full-time residents in the area.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I made the mistake of booking a trip to Tampa during the GOP Convention. Hotel rooms were either very expensive or on the low end of the scale. I found this great spot for two nights. Clean, well furnished, and comfortable. Lisa was great to work with. Coffee and many other essentials were already there. Great area of St. Pete. Walk to dinner and beach.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Four of us went to St Pete and this apartment was absolutely perfect for what we needed. The location is perfect and just steps away from the beach. It is in walking distance to shops, restaurants and coffee :). You could walk the beach half a mile in either direction and find something to do. Lisa is amazing. She was so easy to contact and helped us anytime we needed it. She gave us tips on where to go, what to do, where to eat. She offered for us to move to another house if we got stranded due to Hurricane Isaac. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and better owner to work with. My husband and I have already decided to stay in one of her rentals for our anniversary next year.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Cottage was cute, clean and had everything we needed for our week-long adventure! We explored Pass-a-Grille on the beach cruisers (provided), kept cool under an umbrella (provided) while fishing, and lounged on the beautiful beach with towels that were provided! The unit including all of the essentials was important to us since we flew in stand-by from AZ and used carry-on luggage only! The washer/dryer was pretty handy, too. We didn't have to pack much at all! Our biggest challenge each morning was which direction to walk at the end of the driveway -- one minute east and we are at our fave fishing spot, one minute west and we are at the beach - decisions, decisions!! Used the rental car only once to go to St. Petersburg museums; otherwise, you can walk to Merry Pier, restaurants (try the grouper sandwich at Hurricane's!), beach, park, church, convenience store, deli - just about anything you need is a short walk away. Lisa has done an amazing job decorating this unit and is a pleasure to rent from! Very attentive, great communication and so friendly - we will DEFINITELY be back to stay in this Pass-a-Grille charmer!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Perfect place for an extended weekend trip to Pass A Grill. Everything was simple and perfectly decorated. My husband and I just returned home from Lisa's Pass A Grille apartment. We loved it. The apartment was clean, comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the neighborhood and the neighbors. It was so nice to be able to walk almost everywhere we went. We went to the beach every night to watch the sunset and were even treated to watching a small wedding on Friday night. We look forward to returning to the apartment again. Lisa, thanks for such a relaxing retreat.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+.

My husband and I have been vacationing in St. Pete for over 25 years and this is the best stay we have ever had. There is no doubt that we will return to Lisa's beach home. We have stayed in both rentals and find them equally comfortable. Both rentals are warm and welcoming. A home away from home. Steps from the beautiful powdery white beach of Pass-a-grille. We have always loved Pass-a-grille. Our children grew up with us vacationing there. Beautiful memories that will continue. Lisa truly had everything well planned and thought out when she renovated this home. The apartment was exceptionally clean and exquisitly decorated. We wanted for nothing except to extend our stay. Maybe next time! Thank you - Lisa!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

About the owner: Greetings! I grew up on Pass-a-Grille but I now live in downtown St. Petersburg where my daughter goes to school. I work at the local college and teach Psychology. I compete in triathlons (swimming, running and bicycling) and have completed 4 Ironman races. We have two dogs (poodle and a golden retriever) and try to live simply by enjoying all the wonderful activities in our area such as the Dali museum, Ft De Soto- rated 1 beach in the world, bicycling on our 80 mile bike path, and windsurfing. Our next adventure is to learn to Stand-up-Paddle a popular activity in our area. I lived for awhile in NYC, CT (Fairfield county) and NY (Westchester County) during graduate school and for ten years I lived in the Northeast until I returned home.
Why the Owner Chose St. Pete Beach:
I love this beach house, & I love this apartment. I personally redid most of the place myself. We lived there for a while as it is such a wonderful area, however daily demands called me away from the beach so I chose to make life easier and move closer to my daughters school. The beach house is within driving distance to my home, its easy to get to from the airport and an easy day trip to adventures in downtown St Pete, Tampa or Orlando. The best part of this beach house though is the peace that it brings to those who live there, the shelling, walking on the beach or just listening to nature. I look forward to moving back in a few years but for now I invite you to live in this beautiful setting and enjoy the comfort of Pass A Grille Beach.
Even if you only stay for a week you will leave with sunsets on your mind and the horizon and open air in you heart. Enjoy!
The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
Breakfast nooks. like the Seahorse Restaurant, are enticing and quaint and only blocks away. Cute shops and boutiques run along 8th Ave, one of the smallest shopping streets in the US, and are made for strolling along. Pass a Grille Beach is mostly a residential and very quiet beach. It is perfect for a life made for walking, rollerblading, cycling or swimming. The beach house is only a few steps from our beach trolley stop and the trolly can take you to wherever you want to go.. or you can just stay, enjoy the Sea Spray, the sea grapes and the local restaurants as they entice all who come to this area. Enjoy the local craftsman shop, Nancy Markoe Gallery, for local pottery or jewelry to take home. Above all enjoy the sunset and the sunrise as on a peninsula water is all around to reflect the suns rays and shine with warmth on each glorious day.
