What a wonderful place to stay!! The house is lovely - the location is quiet and peaceful - close to anything you might need. Our stay here was so much better than staying in a hotel room with a 2 year old. The home is even nicer than the pictures indicate! Sure I will be booking this place on my next visit to the area!

We love our extended stay at Lonesome Dove. Everything was just as expected – just like the photos only better. Loved all the modern amenities with the Texas flair. It was just like a home away from home – plenty of space, close to everything, and I mean everything! The secure backyard was a huge bonus. The rooms are spacious and the beds are really comfy. I love the shower! And the kitchen was just perfect. The neighborhood is great – quiet, nice for walking and just a quick drive around the bend to the lake. You can even see the Gaylord Texan fireworks from the nearby beach. Whether you're looking for a quiet, country-like getaway with convenience to the Metroplex, or looking for more than a hotel while you visit the city, Lonesome Dove meets all the requirements.

From when we arrived on the property until we left a week later everything was wonderful. The biggest compliments I heard from my group were that it was well decorated and laid out, quiet neighborhood, and LOVE the shower. Complete with a complimentary bottle of wine, we were able to watch tv in every room of the house and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was roomy and well laid out. The dining room and living room are open and inviting while filling every need and comfort. Used the DVD player the second night without any issues and the tv in the back bedroom was used the most. Small DVD player issue the next time we went to use it, but dominoes made a wonderful alternative. The two bedrooms are very spacious and are far enough away from each other to not interfere. The house is so quiet, like the neighborhood. When someone was moving around in the middle of the night, they did not bother anyone else. The house is well cared for and furnished and fit nicely with the overall theme. There were plenty of places to put suitcases so that they were not on the floor. Have never used a walk in shower before, but it is well done and the seat was useful for my shower. Didn't think I would like the large shower head, but it was way better than what I have had in expensive hotels. Good location to town and the lake where there are marinas and beaches as well as ball fields and gazebos. Went to both modern Grapevine and Historic Grapevine. Did not spend as much time as we should have in Historic, but enjoyed the time we were there. Was especially impressed with the shop that makes thier own jewelry. Dropped what they were doing in order to make matching jewelry to what was being purchased. Would definatley recommend the Wild West Cafe and Baja Grill. Liked the fact that the back yard was locked up, added and extra layer of security. Only had one visitor of a young boy looking for a glass of milk, otherwise really saw no one. Lots of bunnies to watch and the dog next door was well behaved and for the most part quiet. Could hear the nearby fireworks Friday night, but not able to watch as just a little too far from the lake. Will defiantely stay here again when the oportunity arises. Plenty of proper and timely information from the owner and smooth transaction from beginning to end. Photos acurate and house wll kept up and has a book with listing accomodations and area atractions to help if a visitor needs ideas.
Owner response:WOW! Sounds like you made use of the many amenities in the Grapevine area. There are so many things to see and do. We are happy you enjoyed your time at Lonesome Dove Retreat and look forward to a return visit. By the way, we are replacing the DVD player this weekend. Thanks for staying at Lonesome Dove Retreat!

Although we spent very little time at the house, it was the perfect choice for us. It is cute, clean, roomy & well furnished. FYI: The neighborhood is great for running!

Our group of 5 stayed super bowl weekend. The house was clean and the beds were comfy. Having more space than a hotel and a kitchen was a plus.
Owner response:Thanks for staying at Lonesome Dove Retreat. We are glad your team won and you enjoyed your stay.
