This was the 1st time my husband and I chose a vacation rental over a hotel. We wanted a mountain cabin to celebrate our anniversary. The Bittersweet was an excellent choice! The Bittersweet Suite will exceed any expectations. It is remarkably clean, warm and inviting. When the owners say its' well stocked' they mean its 'well stocked'. I didn't have to bring a thing to cook meals, they really thought of everything. Private, romantic and beyond cozy. The majestic views are breathtaking from every part of the suite without even going outside. Drive to the bottom of the mountain and you are literally in the middle of Asheville. We enjoyed local restaurants, shopping etc daily. Thank you Stephen and Matthew for making our stay remarkable! My husband and I are telling everyone about the Suite at Bittersweet. Don't miss this it is truly on of the best places for couples or singles in the Asheville area.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks Kim! It was a pleasure meeting you both. We look forward to seeing you again.

We had such an amazing long weekend at Bittersweet. The pictures don't do it justice! Everything was perfect. It was clean, comfortable, romantic and the views are truly breathtaking. Matt was so easy to work with and I think about our wonderful weekend each time I look at my pottery. My husband thought I pulled a fast one on him but I really didn't know about the pottery until we got there! This trip was just what we needed and we hope to come back soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My wife and I needed a getaway recently and we came across the Bittersweet Suite on VRBO. The pics looked great, we were just hoping it would be as nice in person. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, it was even better in person! Amazing views, amenities, privacy and COMFORT! Matt was so gracious to meet us when we arrived and show us around. We will DEFINITELY come back to Bittersweet again. (If you go, don't miss touring Biltmore... we spent the day there and it was amazing!)Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for the nice comments. It was a pleasure meeting you. Please come back!

Came for a belated anniversary getaway. The suite was exactly as we had hoped it would be. I would definitely recommend except that it might mean our chance of booking it again would be more difficult :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
Why the Owner Chose Asheville:
We purchased this property from our neighbors in 2000. The views were quite inspiring! We considered a long-term rental but then realized we needed to do a gut-renovation. (Things were in pretty deplorable condition.) We finished the renovation in 2007 and have been renting the Suite as a short-term vacation rental ever since. Our home is also on the property but you will never see us unless you want to. We are usually "around" should you need any assistance. Your complete privacy, however, is assured.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
The Suite is very convenient to downtown Asheville and The Blue Ridge Parkway. And the view? Unbelievable!
