  Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a very nice rental in a wonderful location. House is as described by the rental company. House was very clean and well equipped with everything one would need for a vacation rental. Will definitely return!

  This house used to be beautiful, now it is unkept and poorly managed. The main reason we rented this house was the stunning views from the hot tub on the property. Well the view were stunning, but the hot tub hadn't been cleaned in weeks, and had hardly any water in it. When I requested someone come and fix it, Sarah played us along and told us the service guy was "on his way"..... Days later, no service man and no more responses from Sarah. This was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had from a VRBO rental and next time seriously going to consider a hotel resort. DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE

  Owner response: You rented the house from Friday 3Pm to Sunday 11AM and arrived on Friday evening. I was contacted Friday evening and I responded immediately saying I would contact our Spa tech Saturday morning. Saturday morning I sent you a text to let you know he would be there to repair spa that afternoon. You replied with a smiley face and stated "No problem! This gave us an excuse to use jacuzzi tub in master bathroom" Later that day I was alerted by tech the circuit board was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. This was at 4PM Saturday... You also fail to mention you received 50% off regular price for a last minute weekend booking. This malfunction with Spa was unforseen and I feel my response time was acceptable.

  This was our first experience renting a house on our vacation to the Carmel Big Sur area. We usually stay at a 5 star resort in Big Sur and thought we would try something different and this fabulous house did not disappoint!The ocean views visible from almost every room were breathtaking, the furniture was very comfortable, and had the most amazing kitchen we had ever seen!The house is centrally located to everything Point Lobos Reserve,downtown Carmel,Cannery Row, and Big Sur.So relaxing just sitting out back watching the otters playing in this dramatic ocean setting.Any questions we had were answered by Zack he was very attentive and gave us his number to call if we needed anything.Would definitely recommend this house and would love to rent it again on future trips.Staying in this home you get so comfortable because so much thought went into the layout and design it makes it hard to leave it. So lovely thank you to the owners for sharing it with us!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

  This was our first vacation to the Monterey Peninsula and Carmel beaches. Carmel is a great little town with tons of window-shopping, people watching, world-class restaurants, out-door shows, festivals, farmers markets, etc.... Every day we had plenty to see and explore. We strolled on the beach just about every morning. It was sweater weather in the early morning - but warmed up nicely by noon. The beaches are terrific. It was very peaceful and relaxing- just what we all needed. For some change, we did several wine tastings in Carmel Valley, went horseback riding on the beach in Big Sur,,and took another day to tour the Monterey Bay Aquarium (which was spectacular). The house had everything we needed and was very easy to use and feel comfortable in. I give this a very big thumbs up!

  I was worried about the size when I read that it was 3 bedrooms. However, we had 6 adults needing three separate beds and two young children and we were completely comfortable! The space is perfectly set up and there is a lot of natural light. The views speak for themselves, the ocean is literally right outside almost every window. We requested and they accommodated a fold-out bed, which was awesome for us. It is so close to the ocean that you can hear the crashing waves, what a great way to fall asleep every night!. I would HIGHLY recommend this house! There is SO much to do in the area and the house feels very solid and has all the amenities you would want. Large flat-screen tv's in all bedrooms and the Living room, DirecTV, Blue Ray Players, even a popcorn machine. The manager was nice and helped us find restaurants and fun things to try. The man who runs the rental was wonderful and answered every question we had. He made us feel very at home and was only a phone call away. What a fantastic trip and this was a great home base! We have already reserved for next summer!

  This once was a magnificent house but is now an unkept property. This is an honest review. We just stayed at this home for 9 days. The house was a mess when we got there due to the cleaning crew not being on time. The property manager did respond to get the place cleaned up (we wasted 4 hours waiting for them to clean the property) however here are the pros and cons of this property. Pros: Absolutely wonderful views of the ocean. Quiet area close to town. Large windows allow great views. Lots of TV sets including big screen in the TV room (none of them are receiving HD so the picture isn't great but the sound is terrific). Cons: There are many. The main sink on the big island in the kitchen is not usable as it is leaking. This is a huge problem because the other sink (the one in the first picture) gets a lot of sunlight from 5:00 to 8:30(dinner time) and you can't see and it is hot when the sun beating down on you (they have no window treatments in this area). The post and pans are unusable (we had to buy our own) as they are corroded. The refrigerator ice maker is broker so it keeps making ice(nosiey) unless you place a huge bag of ice in it. The carpets are not clean as their are urine stains and dirt in particular in the master bedroom and master bathroom. Some of the windows can not be opened because the handles are broken and windows are dirty. The fountain not been cleaned and the water is green with dirt and algae everywhere. Many of the drawers have people's belongings, batteries, etc in them as though the house was never properly cleaned out before offering it for rent. The patio furniture is not usable. It is so rusty that when you touch it the rust comes off all over your clothing and hands (I ruined a pair of slacks sitting on them). This was especially troubling as I called Terry to ask about a prior review pertaining to the patio furniture and he said it was not true. Garbage had not been taken out in weeks and by the time we left it was overflowing. Honestly this house is way overpriced based on the lack of care. It is in a beautiful setting but at these prices we expect a much better kept property. We realize nothing is perfect regardless of what you rent but this was the most unattended to property my wife and I have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many. It is a shame as with a little effort this would be a magnificent home. I took videos and pictures of the property.If they tell you any of this is untrue they aren't being honest.

  Owner response: What a shocking and unfair review. Where the renter says the house wasn't ready on time, he forgot to mention that they arrived 2 hours early. The house was ready by the time they SHOULD have arrived. He said no tv's get HD TV, how about ALL TV's are HD and we have DirecTV HD Service. The kitchen has tons of very nice pots and pans, including LeCreuset set that this genius didn't see in the large cabinet next to the stove (who would think to actually look NEXT to the stove).... The fountain is clean, the carpet is clean, As far as the house having some personal items in it, YES, it is a house... that real people live in... and those people need toothbrushes, and they have socks, and perhaps a box of cereal! By no means does this intrude on the guests. The trash being everywhere was a direct result of this persons ignorance. Instead of using the 3 large cans (trash/yard waste/recycling) he chose to leave garbage bags outside which were ripped open by raccoons, which he told me about 2 days later and I immediately had my cleaners come out and take care of it, I have never had a renter try to manipulate and threaten me with a bad review unless I gave him a dramatic price reduction. Such a scam, I wish VRBO had a list of people to be careful of when you rent... I would add this person to the top of the list. I welcome a preview of the house whenever you are considering booking. This is an amazing house, with an unbelievable setting.... and I have photos and videos to prove it :-)

  Having grown up in North Miami Beach, FL I would prefer living in Carmel, CA over any place in FL. If I did not have a recent history of medical issues I would actually consider relocating my optometric practice there.

  The house has great views/location and was generally clean, but is in serious need of a refurb. The gardens were very dissapointing, completely bare, and the garden furniture was dirty and horrible (must have been there for a lot of years). Several appliances were not working (dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hot water tap). Overall its definitely not a luxury house with its current fittings and standard of the outside area, and wouldnt recommend to friends.

  Owner response: I appreciate the feedback and have made a great attempt to correct some of the minor issues. The house is represented well by the photos and we look forward to having you.
