Cozy Log Home in the Woods
This unique, architect-designed log home was created with Engelmann Spruce from the 1988 Yellowstone fire. You’ll enjoy in-floor heating in the kitchen and master bath, Direct TV and wireless Internet access, and a steam shower in the master bath. Six or seven people can sleep comfortably in the three-bedroom, three and a half-bath accommodation. Master bedroom and one guest room have queen-size beds; second guest room has a double bed and a set of twin-size bunks. You’ll be a half hour drive from Jackson Hole ski area, close enough to have first tracks in the powder, but far enough to escape the bustle. The Granite Canyon entrance station to Teton National Park is a half-hour drive, Yellowstone is about an hour’s drive. Fly fishing access in Fish Creek is within walking distance. Moose, elk, and deer graze outside the dining room windows; Great Grey owls hunt in the grass.

A wonderful base-camp for our week in Jackson Hole

We had an all-around good experience during our week-long stay at this location. The owners were straight-forward, responsive, and helpful. The home is spacious and was quite comfortable for our family with several children. The log-style features and location in the woods provided a fitting base camp for our explorations of the greater Jackson Hole area. While the location is a bit further away from Jackson than some alternatives, we were quite content as the drive along the river is quite pretty. One of the highlights of the week was a morning visit to the home’s side-yard by a young bull moose. The home is well maintained and the owners appear to have a good setup with an individual to cover any issues that may arise. We feel very comfortable recommending this property to others.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owners are very professional, polite, and prompt. There were no issues in getting the logistics taken care of with the owner. They spell out their expectations up front. They are very reasonable folks. Our planning was on short notice as we booked the cabin 2-3 wks before our vacation and they were great. Easy drive to Tetons and Jackson and Jackson Hole Ski Resort. Yellowstone is accessible, though a good poke down the road. Moose graze in backyard. Cabin is spacious and very well kept. Large windows for looking outside into the woods. Beautiful deck to sit on in evenings and enjoy the dusk. Really nice kitchen. If you have kids, it is also very accomodating house (we took our two children). Would also be good for multiple couples to stay and split the three bedrooms. Each bedroom had it's own bath. I would recommend a friend to stay here.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.
