We were only able to stay one night, but thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Would recommend for a nice, quiet, private getaway. Very charming! Dinner at Palmer's was great, too. Enjoy :)

Owner response: What a treat it was to have the two of you stay in the historic "Travis Suite"...the pleasure was all ours. Looking forward to your next visit to San Marcos. MAHALO NUI LOA! ;)
everything was great. the only complaint I have is that the thermostat varied to much and we couldn't control it and the temperature was never constant but other than that Super!

Owner response: Hi Mark! Sounds like you had trouble programming the remote digital thermostat in your room? Thank you for letting us know. We will be sure to leave instructions for our guests in the future on how to set it. We sincerely apologize for any discomfort this may have caused. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Kristin
My husband and I were in San Marcos for my daughters college graduation and Palmer's guest house was a perfect choice for us. Very nice, clean and comfortable. We were greeted with a nice complimentary bottle of wine. We loved our stay and the food at Palmer's Restaurant is superb!

Wonderful place to stay in San Marcos.
Wonderful place to stay in San Marcos.
Very nicely renovated space in a great location in the middle of San Marcos. It's cozy and comfortable and for the price really tough to beat. It is certainly far preferable to staying in a chain motel out on the freeway and the folks at Palmer's are so accommodating and friendly. I can't think of anything the proprietors could have done to make us feel more welcome or to provide a better place to stay.

Best Place to Stay in Town
Best Place to Stay in Town
I visit San Marcos several times a year and have stayed at some lovely Bed & Breakfasts and a couple of the nicer hotels in town. After my recent stay at the Palmers Guest house it is now by far my favorite place to stay! The location is just blocks from the main square and within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, bars and Texas State University. The Palmers restaurant (which in my opinion is one of the best restaurants in town) beautiful patio is just a few feet from the guest house which makes it extremely convenient for lunch, dinner or happy hour. The guest house itself is exceptionally clean with new furniture and linens. Also, despite being near a busy road, it was extremely quiet and I slept very well. This place is truly a gem and I will definitely be staying here again.

Wonderful guest house. We slept very well and felt comfortable with its cozy feel. Added bonus was the great dining experience we had at Palmer's. Plan on returning when I visit the area in May.
