My husband and I were in San Marcos for my daughters college graduation and Palmer's guest house was a perfect choice for us. Very nice, clean and comfortable. We were greeted with a nice complimentary bottle of wine. We loved our stay and the food at Palmer's Restaurant is superb!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thanks! It was our pleasure ;- )

Very nicely renovated space in a great location in the middle of San Marcos. It's cozy and comfortable and for the price really tough to beat. It is certainly far preferable to staying in a chain motel out on the freeway and the folks at Palmer's are so accommodating and friendly. I can't think of anything the proprietors could have done to make us feel more welcome or to provide a better place to stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I visit San Marcos several times a year and have stayed at some lovely Bed & Breakfasts and a couple of the nicer hotels in town. After my recent stay at the Palmers Guest house it is now by far my favorite place to stay! The location is just blocks from the main square and within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, bars and Texas State University. The Palmers restaurant (which in my opinion is one of the best restaurants in town) beautiful patio is just a few feet from the guest house which makes it extremely convenient for lunch, dinner or happy hour. The guest house itself is exceptionally clean with new furniture and linens. Also, despite being near a busy road, it was extremely quiet and I slept very well. This place is truly a gem and I will definitely be staying here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Wonderful guest house. We slept very well and felt comfortable with its cozy feel. Added bonus was the great dining experience we had at Palmer's. Plan on returning when I visit the area in May.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
