The cottage is located on kilometer 5.7 and right off the bus stop. It's very handy for getting in to town or walking to a few of the fabulous restaurants near the house. One of the best is just a block away! My husband was in Spanish school while we were there and it was also very close. The house has 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bathroom downstairs (with heated floors!) The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We stayed for 3.5 weeks and were very happy with the house and the location and Bariloche. We were sad to leave! Thanks to Ashley, the owner, for being very helpful and making our stay perfect!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I spent 5 weeks in this charming cottage from the beginning of March. The photos were exactly as it was. It had everything that we needed, the beds were very comfortable, the place was immaculate and well maintained, the kitchen equipped well, the asado was there, although not used by us, and very convenient to town. Ashley was full of information about what to do and where to go. He was a big help to us in renting a car and changing our money as well as any other question that we had. The cottage is in a nice neighborhood and the bus stops right around the corner. The cottage is located just outside of town so it is quiet yet near restaurants(walking distance) including our favorite, The Salamander. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Bariloche.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at Charming Cottage in Bariloche for a week in February 2012 and had a great experience. The house is clean, well appointed and a good distance from everything we wanted to do. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need to make meals and there is a parrilla out back for your use (although we didn’t take advantage of this perk.) The owner, Ashley, was a wealth of information and we used his advice in planning for the week. He was available and helpful whenever we had questions about the house and his friendly disposition made us feel welcome and at ease. He has a book full of maps and information about the area with suggested hikes, restaurants, etc. This was very helpful for us, especially because we have two young kids and it was great not to have to do too much research about the area. The house is located off the main avenue and on a quiet street with a kids’ play structure on the lot at the end. This was a big bonus for our kids and safe for them to play at on their own. Overall we had a great visit at Charming Cottage and would definitely stay there again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children.

My wife and I highly recommend this wonderful accommodation. Felt like home. Residential neighbourhood, quiet. The location is perfect as you are in a striking distance to all the classic "must see" of the Bariloche area. Ashley was very helpful and knowledgable. Would return in a flash.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Reviewed on Trip Advisor: My partner and I stayed at this charming cottage for a month in March 2011, a much needed rest after some stressful traveling throughout the continent. We were not disappointed! The owners (an English / Argentinian couple) were very lovely; helping us plan / organise trips in and around the Lake District, imparting knowledge on the local area and helping with absolutely anything they could! The cottage itself was very lovely, immaculately clean and very well equipped (unlike most holiday rentals). The location was perfect, just far enough outside of Bariloche town to enjoy a slower pace whilst being close enough to enjoy everything the town has to offer. We had a wonderful stay in Bariloche and would recommend this cottage to anyone without reservation!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Reviewed on TripAdvisor: We were one of the first visitors to stay in this beautiful cottage. Although the pictures looks very traditional, the cottage was very well equipped and more importantly nice and warm at this time of year. One big plus to mention is the inclusion of WiFi, for any travellers with a laptop or phone that can use WiFi, this is a serious selling point! Location wise you couldn't get much better, set in a very private space surrounded by trees there is ample outdoor space. The airport is suitably close, but not so close that you are bothered by planes overhead and the superb ski resort of Cerro Catedral is also only a short drive away. A British guy called ashley and his wife, who is argentinean own the cottage. They were both really friendly and offered some good advice on the best places to go trekking and the best places to eat and drink. The cottage was very clean and tidy and ashley met us on our arrival, which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend and will be going back, hopefully in the summer next time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Reviewed on TripAdvisor We stayed here with my girlfriends parents in Oct 2010 and had a fantastic time. The house was perfect for 4 people and is located so you can enjoy the peace and serenity of living out of town whilst only being a short bus ride into town (there are frequent buses running to and from town for 3 pesos each). The kitchen had the basic equipment needed to cook meals and there was a very good Parilla 5 minutes walk away. Ashley met us on arrival and told us about the area and things to do. We hired a car and explored! The house was lovely; rustic in style but with none of the rough edges you normally get with the "rustic" tag! The rooms were spacious and clean with lots of natural light. We loved the place and I hope you do too.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Reviewed on TripAdvisor: There is a good website and booking was very straight forward. Ashley always responded promptly to emails in a friendly helpful manner. Ashley met us on arrival (he lives next door). He showed us the cottage and supplied lots of useful information about the area, including a recommendation for a very good local restaurant. He also arranged car hire for us. The cottage was charming, made of beautiful golden local wood and we really appreciated the craftsmanship. The cottage was tastefully furnished and the beds were comfortable with quality bed linen. Ashley and his wife were nice friendly people. We suggested a couple of small additions to the kitchen equipment that would be useful and I am sure they will be added. Buses are a short walk from the property, and the town centre is approximately a ten minute bus ride away.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Reviewed on TripAdvisor: Ashley provided excellent assistance right from my first inquiries. He was very efficient with the bookings and helped with renting a car. When we arrived he gave us a briefing about where to visit and what to do. His help and assistance was invaluable and made our stay in Bariloche wonderful. The unit is lovely: beautifully constructed, comfortable and seemed like home. The location away from crowded Bariloche was very welcome; it is in a nice neighborhood close to the lake, with a garden and is within walking distance to shops where the basics can be bought. This great little cottage is a rare find and I would definitely return to it or recommend it to others.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We are a British/Argentine couple and decided to make Bariloche our home in 2008, having both travelled extensively in Bariloche and elsewhere in Argentina over the years. We’ll be checking you in and will be on hand should you need any help or advice on things to see and do.
Why the Owner Chose Bariloche:
We never tire of Bariloche. The seasonal changes are very marked and each season has it's own unique charm, and the sweeping lake and mountain vistas are ever-changing.
For fresh-air addicts like myself there is always plenty to do, whether it's skiing, mountain-biking, kayaking, or just heading out for a walk and enjoying the local flora and fauna.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The property is found at the end of a no-through road with almost no traffic, in a friendly neighbourhood, not too far from the centre and one block from the road that leads out of town towards the ski resort and the main hiking areas.
It is built in the finest Patagonian style with extensive use of orange-hued cypress timbers, a staple of the area. At the same time it is finished and furnished to a high standard and is full of natural light and modern comforts.
