Blackberry Ridge cabin is absolutely lovely, with stunning views, well appointed furnishings, and peaceful surroundings. We arrived very late Friday evening (driving up those switchbacks was interesting indeed in pitch dark!!), but we found everything in order and clean as a whistle. Patricia, the owner, even called to make sure we arrived safely. The cabin was more than accomodating for our party of two familes (4 adults and 4 children ages 8-11). All the bedbrooms were extremely comfortable, and the open floor plan was very inviting and cozy. The kids enjoyed, as usual, the satellite TV and DVD player. The kitchen had amost everything we needed (just missing measuring spoons and cups), with enough cabinet space for us to stock our food for the weekend. The wraparound deck and rocking chairs were the perfect place to take in the view and to sip our coffee and wine. The location was very convenient to the outdoor company with whom we did white water rafting (our reason for the trip), and was close to several flea markets and Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is located in a gated community which appears to be only 5-10% built out, but that actually made it feel more private, which we were perfectly fine with. The roads in the development are well paved and very hilly... made for a great challenging walk/hike! The owners were so gracious to allow us to do a last-minute late checkout on Sunday - they are so flexible and obviously want guests to enjoy their cabin. We would definitely recommend this cabin to others looking for a nice mountain retreat.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our family stayed in this cabin for 3 nights and we could of stayed for 3 weeks. We had such a wonderful time and our views from all rooms were fantastic. The cabin is very well taken care of and the owners were so helpful with all our questions, they were truly great to work with. Would not hesitate to stay here again. The drive is an adventure because of the narrow winding roads but once you have driven it you learn the curves and it's fairly easy to navigate. Everything is close proximity, we went whitewater rafting, tubing and zip lining along with losing some of our money in the casino. We really enjoyed our stay! Our adventure began as soon as we turned off the main by-way onto the two lane road which shortly became a winding drive with steep switch-backs. [My sister found the climb challenging - but she lives in Florida where the highest incline is a couple of parking garage ramps!] In short order we arrived at the top of the moutain to a wonderful. If quiet is your goal, this is the place for you. No traffic noise, no airplanes overhead, no neighbors. We unloaded the cars and explored the cabin. The upstairs loft is roomy and has a little balcany with a different view from the living room. The main area has two bedrooms, a bath and a great room with a fireplace and open area kitchen. Double doors lead to the wrap around deck. The lower level has a pool table and bath. We were familiar with the area and had no problem finding lots to do. Dillsboro and Sylva are close by as is Cherokee. We have relatives in Sylva so spent most of our time there. One problem arose - the refridgerator stopped working - but one call to our hosts and they took care of the problem by having another one delivered the next day! Wow. Awesome service. We enjoyed our stay - it was exactly what we wanted and it lived up to all our expectations. I would love to stay there again and I have no reservations about recommending it to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We visited the cabin for a quick weekend getaway with another couple. It was AWESOME! The description and photos provided do not do justice to the cabin. The views are amazing, and the cabin is very comfortable and cozy. The owners were very helpful with any questions we had. They even called on the day of our arrival to make sure we made it there and there were no problems. I will definitely recommend this property to my friends and family! We hope to return soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

I could not have asked for a better place to spend the labor day weekend with my children and grandchildren. The home was beautiful, sight from porch was beautiful. My 8 year old son wanted to move there. Nothing could be added to make the stay any better. Thanks againRecommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

This was our first trip to the mountains in a few years and I must say we will visit again. This cabin was in excellent condition and the mountain views were beautiful. This location is very peaceful and I would recommend this property to a friend. The futon is really only for younger kids, but other than that everything else was perfect.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Everything was very nice and clean with great amenities. Is is very private and isolated with no houses really near it. The king sized bed upstairs was very comfortable and other two beds were also very nice and roomy. Good size TV in the living area with great views from the large windows and wrap around deck. We were only a few minutes from the exit to Cherokee so it is very convenient to the grocery store, restaurants and the casino. Only negative was the amount of ladybugs but I think that was consistent for the season. Also be warned that the road up to the house is very narrow and can be difficult to navigate in the dark. Once we found it we had no trouble though. We would definitely stay her again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
