  This home is truly something special. We had our extended family stay here for a family vacation. All 4 families could not believe how big the house was. When you step outside to the pool/spa area, the view is amazing!! With a terrific sound system outside and several large eating areas, we felt like we had our own mini resort. Christine, the property manager, is excellent with all the details she provided about the home. All the special touches about this home make it one of the best VRBOs we have ever rented. Hope to come back again some day.

  I rented Vista Del Lago for the weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday and to be honest I cannot wait to go back! Everything was pitch perfect start to finish. Christine was incredibly helpful in the planning stages. She recommended a caterer for a Saturday night dinner and we could not have been happier with the food, presentation and service. My children arrived on the Sunday and Christine was happy to organize a fence around the pool to be set up in time for their arrival. The house and the surroundings are gorgeous and we had plenty of room for all of our guests. We had 12 people staying in the house and then a few stayed at local hotels (recommendations from Christine). The master bedroom is enormous and one feels as if they are in a luxurious hotel suite--complete with awesome views, a cosy fireplace and a huge bathroom! There was ample room for everyone to sit around the amazing (warm) pool and also to eat outside. Celebrating with our special friends at such an amazing place is something we will not forget and we cannot wait to have the chance to go again!

  Christine and Vista Del Lago certainly made our dreams into a five star reality. We wanted it to be the weekend of a lifetime, and it was. Four couples stayed at the house to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday, and other guests stayed at the wonderful hotels nearby. We went full out to host a glamorous dinner party on the Friday night - starting with cocktails by the pool overlooking the magnificent view at sunset - then next day a garden and pool party on the Saturday. The setting made both events completely magical. Chef Dave, their recommendation, also excelled. The attention to detail for our comfort and the aesthetics was without par and greatly added to the experience, and helped ensure that it was an experience of a lifetime, not just for us, but also for our guests. And for that, we are all truly grateful.

• 50th wedding anniversary celebration

  Three generations stayed for 4 nights in July for a 50th anniversary celebration. The property’s amazing lush, tropical garden and art-filled, comfortable house provided a special setting for our get-together. The house has plenty of space both inside and outside and is thoughtfully furnished with comfy chairs, chaise lounges, etc in every spot you want them. We cooked on the grill every night and had long al fresco meals, followed by relaxing ‘dips’ in the pool and the jacuzzi. Highly recommended for any occasion!

  Eight friends met up at Vista Del Lago to celebrate 50th birthdays. When we arrived, Christine had music wafting throughout the house and patio, lights and candles glowing, fresh flowers, and a beautiful food basket and fruit bowl waiting for us. The only time we left the house was to go on a long walk on trails and in the neighborhood. Basically, we hung out in this beautiful home, lounging in the jacuzzi and pool, and visiting around the island in the kitchen. We cooked every meal in the big, beautiful kitchen and used every dining area available, both inside and out. The house is roomy and comfortably slept eight adults. My husband and I were lucky enough to get the master bedroom -- awesome. I would recommend this property without hesitation. The place isn't cheap, but it's totally worth it. We loved every minute.

  We had 12 stay at home moms stay at Vista Del Lago for the weekend and it was absolutely wonderful. The house and the views are far more beautiful than the pictures. The house was immaculate and impeccably decorated, while still feeling comfortable. Christine, the manager of the house, made us feel welcome by leaving candles burning and having fresh flowers through out the house, in addition to a lovely welcome basket. The house was large enough that even with 12 people staying there we never felt crowded and had enough room in most of the areas (dining room, outdoor dining, living room, kitchen, etc) for us all to sit together. We had planned to visit the town of Ojai, but the majority of us were so in love with the house that we never left. We spent most of the time in the backyard in the pool and jacuzzi enjoying the view and the nights in the house by the fire. We plan to make it our yearly mom's get away. Thank you, Christine for making it great for us!

  I can't express enough how truly wonderful this property is! My husband and I rented it for our wedding party to stay at throughout our wedding weekend. The owner and the manager Christine were so gracious and even allowed us to have our rehearsal dinner here. Christine anticipated our every need and far exceeded our expectations. Last but certainly not least, the home itself is gorgeous and impeccably designed and the views are spectacular. This is most certainly a place we will come back to for many years to come!

  My son & I came from a very cold upstate New York life to this amazingly beautiful, spacious, calm retreat and man did it do us both a world of good! I was able to get lots of extreme quiet with endless views to calm my soul and bust my writer's block and my 6 year ld was able to swim and chase salamanders and watch "our hawk" make hypnotic circles in the sky - plus it didn't hurt that there was an enormous kitchen for us to cook & bake in and a private t.v. area for him to catch up on his much missed cartoons! It is decorated so tastefully, but nothing is too precious so you don't have to feel uncomfortable with a kid and the outside basketball court helped him exhaust himself so we could all sleep soundly in a giant master suite after sitting around a cozy fire and telling stories our of Ojai daze! I couldn't say enough great stuff about our stay @ "Vista Del Lago" and we look forward to making our way out of three feet of snow to return again a.s.a.p! Thanks again for making us feel so attended to & left alone & at home!
