  I really can't think of enough nice things to say about Richard's property. We had seven people in our party (2 teens, 3 kids, and 2 adults) and we all had a great time. The home is very cozy and slept all of us nicely. Beds were comfy, rooms were cozy and the pool and jaccuzzi were relaxing. And to top it all off, Richard is a great person;he is someone that I would definatley have as a friend. Our vacation started off sort of like the "Griswolds", we were very worried about sending so much money to someone we had never met and constantly emailed Richard with our concerns and questions to validate the rental. Without hesitation, Richard always replied promptly and eased our worries. Then on the vacation we locked ourselves out of the rental and once again, with no hiccups, Richard ensured we were taken care of. He is a respectful and easy to work with gentleman. Do not let the first impression get to you as you pull up. At first sight, we thought it was going to be small and cramped, once inside though, it was great. The charm is very fascinating also as there are many pieces from the past that add to the charm. There were several things there for us already such as kitchenware, bbq grill, a few spices, coffee pot, ecspresso machine and some dry goods. I would highly recommend getting settled before going shopping. People in the neighborhood were also very pleasant as I would head out early in the morning a few times, I received many "good mornings" and "how are you". I would highly recommend this rental and based on the expierence with Richard, any of his properties (even though I have never stayed at them) :-) Bill

  I would recommend this property to anyone. We had a great stay at this rental. The owner was very nice and always was there to help if we would have a question or issue. We had a very good time and was able to visit all of the areas we wanted to because the rental is located in a very good area close to alot of great attractions. I hope to maybe stay in this rental again. It was our home away from home. Most comfortable for our family. The pool and hot tub were great! Thank you for a great stay! The house was very clean and the photos of the rental are very accurate. I have nothing neg. to say. I am very pleased.

  I'm hesitant to write a review because I want this place all to myself, but I have to say this was perfect for me and my family. I had my wedding out here and had this house rented for my family, two small children, mom and dad, brother and wife, and extra brother. PLENTY of space. And for the value, in LA you cannot beat this. The pool area was amazing, and the house was decorated so cooly. It could have been in hip silver lake. Very safe neighborhood, close to everything. And the owner made me feel right at home. He was such a great guy and that can be a rarity out here in LA. My family and myself will use this property every time they come to LA. Thanks a ton!!!

  Found this property described accurately and was located in a good location with easy access to all amenities. I found Richard easy to communicate with via email and he also met us on our arrival date and showed us around the house. What I was disappointed to discover was the property was close to an airport which meant noisy early in the morning with planes. Also would say the property needs air conditioning throughout, this was something Richard indicated that he would like to improve. My family and I thought the notes around the house were a bit much i.e If you smoke in the house you can lose your deposit, if you are noisy at the pool after 10 pm you can lose your deposit, if you leave air con on while out of property you can lose your deposit...... Over all I feel the property is in need of renovation/modernisation and a really good clean. The house was spacious and having the pool was good.

  Owner response: I feel this review was done out of spite due to a disagreement over a deposit transaction fee. Please refer to all my other reviews which completely contradict this guests negative opinions about my property. Unfortunately, this guest was very difficult to work with from the very start and was upset about having to pay the security deposit via paypal and having to pay a small transaction fee involved. Ultimately I allowed him to pay the rent COD to avoid further fees, which is a decision I now come to regret. Also, this guest conveniently failed to mention that I waited around for him for nearly 5 hours to arrive. He indicated he would be arriving at 5 pm ish and didn't arrive until almost 10pm!. No mention flight delay, nothing. No courtesy call or a "thank you" for waiting. When he finally arrived and he offered no apology I suspected I was in for a bad review from him no matter what. Since we initially agreed he would pay cash on arrival ( something I normally don't do, especially in the high summer season), he was not fully committed to the property and could have chosen to not to rent. Not once did this guest ever mention to me any cleanliness issues about house during his initial walk through nor at anytime during his stay. He could have easily decided not to stay or just stayed one night and or request a re-clean. In fact, he said he really liked the house and proceeded to pay me in cash as agreed. Since the house is located approximately 2 miles from the Bob Hope airport , NOT next to it (as is clearly noted in my posting), to hear a plane in the distance once in a while is normal. I would never describe it as excessive and none of my guests have ever complained about it (please see my other reviews about how quite the area is). The fact is, the neighborhood is so quite that I have posted a couple friendly reminder signs in the backyard about keeping noise levels down out of "courtesy to our neighbors". Regretfully, there have been some incidents in the past where guests have had large party's and neighbors have complained so I've needed post friendly reminder signs. During the summer of 2012 we experienced an extended heat wave. Soon after this guests departed I installed additional A/C's throughout. FYI, this is a 1950's original California bungalow home previously owned by a famous TV actor; and although its not perfect, its kept very clean and maintains that old Hollywood charm and style that most my guests love and appreci

  We stayed in Richard's home when we went to visit my son who also lives in N. Hollywood. The house is really clean and decorated nicely and it was wonderful to have the pool and hot tub. The house is well equipped with anything that you need for cooking and the area was really quiet. Our deposit was returned promptly and Richard was very responsive from booking through check-out. We will definitely stay again next time we visit!

  Description of the property is very accurate. The home is very comfortable and clean. Has everything you need to make your stay easier. Very quiet residential neighborhood. Close to a biking/running path about three blocks to the south. Met with Richard, the owner the first night, he showed us around and was very helpful and accommodating. Went to Universal Studios which is five minutes away and Knott's Berry Farms which is about 45 minutes to the south. Had lunch one afternoon on the beach in Malibu. I would recommend this for a small family or group.
