This place is a hidden gem, perfect for those looking for a non-touristy, local flavor with lots of aquatic activity. We swam with whale sharks two out of our four day stay. They are magnificent majestic creatures. We also enjoyed taking the kayak out to the isla and looking at the variety of birds and then paddling through the mangroves. The great views and comfortable kitchen, eating area and veranda made our stay most enjoyable. A day trip into Mulege provided the surprise of nesting osprey in the telephone lines. We had one unfortunate fall near the Mission that required a check at the local clinic. The hospital staff was friendly, professional and inexpensive. Fortunately, nothing was broken.Casa de Los Suenos is a wonderful place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

What an AMAZING trip!! We had a combined trip with our family...mom, dad and two daughters and two other families. The endless activities and opportunities were surprising. Although desert all around, you have all the water activities you could ever want...swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, clamming, sailing, fishing, SCUBA, free diving...endless! You are right on the beach with perfect water access. Another pleasant surprise was the proximity to town, a short car ride and you have restaurants, stores and supplies. The house is perfect for multiple guests...big common open space with kitchen, dining, living room and also separate bedrooms of many sizes and a separate bungalow for more privacy. The owners have many local contacts and ideas for outings and are happy to provide suggestions. We went whale watching and surfing in the Pacific and both were spectacular! This part of Baja is unique and mostly undiscovered, a real treat and a great get-away. It was selected as the number one location in the world for an "Epic Trip" in the May 2012 "Men's Journal" for stand-up paddle-boarding, but the secret is not totally out yet. Perhaps most important is the ability to completely RELAX while there, the views are beautiful and just sitting on the balcony or reading a book are all you really need...Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Villa was exactly as described and the views are amazing. The property was very clean and well maintained. We walked down to the beach and enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling and afternoons in the hammock Margarita in hand. At night we enjoyed sitting on the beach looking at the star filled sky. Nearby towns of Mulege and San Nicholas offer whale watching, fishing and snorkeling excursions.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What an incredible experience. We had the Casita and our friends were able to stay in the main villa for a few days. The beach equipment was great. The view is amazing! Our first time in that area and we will plan to come back. Loved the natural spring. We received great information from Mike. The trip to La Laguna was well worth it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Most people fly into Loreto, rent a car and enjoy the scenic drive to Casa de Los Sueños. However we sailed into Bahia Concepcion and dropped our anchor right under Casa de Los Sueños! Many cruisers told us this was their favorite location in the Sea of Cortez and now it is our favorite too. We have enjoyed swimming with whale sharks (yes, right in our own cove for the past week!!!), snorkeling around the point and nearby beaches and islands, kayaking, fishing, spearfishing, night-snorkeling, clamming, SCUBA diving, hiking, and sightseeing around the nearby coves, historic Mulege and Santa Rosalia. You can fish right in the bay, or world-class day fishing trips can be arranged through the owners or managers, or through local fishing expert Chuy. We now have a freezer jam-packed with yellowtail! The spacious and beautiful villa (three levels) sleeps up to 16, and the cozy Casita is perfect for a couple. We were able to relax on the veranda, cold drink in hand, and keep an eye on our vessel that was safely anchored in the calm water beneath us. We also loved viewing the stars and constellations at night. Our friend told us he hasn’t seen such a star-filled sky since he was a boy in Montana. The owners have done a great job of including all the toys you could possibly want including a variety of kayaks, SUPs, snorkeling gear, fishing poles, etc. Both the main Villa and Casita have outdoor BBQs for grilling your fresh catch of the day. Carmen and Manuel can be available to help out and, for a very reasonable price, Carmen will be happy to cook traditional meals. We loved it so much we were lucky to be able to extend our stay and invite friends to join us. Casa de Los Sueños is perfect for an adventure vacation, for a meditative retreat, and everything in between. We intend to make this an annual pilgrimage, whether we cruise in or fly in. Thank you Casa de Los Sueños! See you next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: T&S, It was my pleasure having you 2 around. The environment of Baja and your friendship made for a perfect 3 weeks. I know your sailing adventure will take you many places, but I hope you consider making the Bay of Conception - Casa de los Suenos, your second home when ever you can. Sail safe but never pass up an experience to stretch your immigration. MM

My group thought this was a rustic shack from the way the owners talk about it. This place is a palace! The main house is 3 stories, with the top level a HUGE master bedroom with a small child's room built into it. The private patio and shower overlooking the bay were incredible. The main floor is where the kitchen, dining room, and a big living room are. Everything overlooks the water and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen has all of the amenities that you could ask for, and there is a bbq grill on the deck. We pulled a few extra chairs outside to take advantage of the cool evenings and view. We snorkeled, swam, spear fished, paddle boarded, kayaked, had a fire on the beach, tanned, collected clams, explored and had an amazing time. We were able to harvest and eat something every day. We didn't make it out to the whales, but saw a lot of marine wildlife, including sting rays, dolphins, yellow tail, huge trigger fish, pargo, cabrilla, shrimp, lobster, crab, and a ton of beautiful reef fish that looked like they belong in an aquarium. We visited Mulege and enjoyed the small town atmosphere mixed with very friendly and welcome locals. Food everywhere was amazing, and relatively inexpensive. Make sure you bring sunscreen and convert dollars to Pesos. There are a lot of stairs to get to the house and down to the beach, so be prepared for that. The house has kayaks and paddle boards to explore the bay. Bring your camera, a pair of sandals, and your bathing suit. House was neatly cleaned, and the photos don't do it justice. If you and your family or group want to experience Baja while staying in a beautiful private place, this is your spot.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I have seen this listing and it is certainly nice looking at it, but it really does not do justice to the actual experience. All of the facilities and toys are well maintained and very clean. During my trip I snorkeled with whale sharks, learned a bit about kayaking, speared a few fish, caught yellowtail on rod and reel, jumped off of some high rocks, Ate great food (perhaps a bit too much) and managed to sneak in a little relaxation. I have spent much more and traveled much further for not nearly as great of time as this was. This is a wonderful place to visit if you want to relax or if you want to start checking things off of your bucket list. Thanks so much Mike, for the great experience of getting to meet your family and friends, it was literally the time of my life.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Jeff it was great to have you visit the Villa. All your great photos were a pleasure to view each night. The improvement you made in your diving ability was also amazing. Next year I expect to see you with a dozen giant Yellow tail. No surfing the whale sharks :) MM

We drove down and spent the full month of April at the Villa We took 3 days to drive in to explore San Quinten and Guerrrero Negro. Both were fun and we enjoyed a world class experience with whales from Marios tours--first class. San Quinten was just a perfect stop for a restful time on a long shell covered pacific beach--lots of clams. This hole region is very safe and we felt everyone was very friendly. The Villa-private beach rocks and is truly an arena made for kids and fun. Snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, fishing, island exploring, rock jumping.... the fun never stopped. The Villa is very well laid out and accommodated our 3 families of 11 easily. We met lots of fun people in the area, sailing through, living there, and just touring the region, they were all envious of our Villa. The highlight for us was catching 28 lg Yellow Tails in 3 days. We made fish every way you can think of and loved every minute of it. We truly ate well and it made for a cheap trip catching our own main course every day. We will be back for a longer trip next time, thanks for everything.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you for the opportunity of visiting la casa de Los suenos. It was a great experience.... It was great to have our own private beach. We went with a local (Daniel) clamming and spear fishing. That was a lot of fun. He Cooked up what we caught on one of the islands and it was very good. The rest of the time we relaxed and mostly kayaked... Over to the bakery or the other beach near us. Overall, great experience and highly recommended for kids. They loved collecting sea shells and star fish.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This is a long Kayak from the Villa, you need to be strong, experienced and wait for a no wind day. Great snorkeling here so bring the gear. Most of these beaches have clams on them so dig away in the clean white sand. Bring food, water, shoes, camera and watch from a fun mangrove to explore straight in to shore.

10' deep, this wreck is still 1/2 intact, so it has lots of structure for lots of fish. We caught a 10 lb halibut on our last trip. There is a very private beach and mangrove to explore there. This is a big kayak so plan a full day. Start early and plan a day with little wind. Bring food and water. Be safe.

Juan also runs a Bay Cruz from this beach that is highly recommend for a great over view of all the islands, snorkeling and taste of fresh clams and scallops. Great family trip.
