Just completed a 3 week family vacation at Casa de los Suenos.......an adventure-filled and memorable time. June is hot, but the private beach and easy access to the Sea of Cortez made for lots of fun in the sun. The home had kayaks and snorkel gear that we used daily to explore the many coves and islands that make up the stunning Bahia Concepcion. We kayaked, scuba dived, cliff jumped, spearfished and relaxed on the private beach that had it's own natural hot tub. The diversity of aquatic life was mind boggling. Star fish, sea horses, crabs, lobster, red and yellow snapper, dolphins, trigger fish, puffer fish, sea turtles, sting rays, manta rays and tons of reef fish in every color. It was like being in natures aquarium. While snorkeling in deep water we witnessed a school of large tuna rising and swirling from the deep just below us. Heart pounding moment. On dark nights we swam in the bay mesmerized by the bio luminescence that surrounded our every move...magical! The home was very spacious and the kitchen was well equipped for large groups with plenty of dishes, glasses, cookware and everything you would need for great meals. The property was very large allowing the kids to play board games in the den area while adults enjoyed cocktails on the balcony overlooking spectacular sunsets. Various family members came and went during our 3 weeks and the 70 mile drive to the Loreto airport was a nice diversion to experience another area. The home has access to a wide variety of reading material, quality books and local area maps. The pre-dawn hours allowed for some quiet reading time and moments to welcome the sun for another fun and adventuresome day at Casa de los Suenos. Thank you Mike and Stephanie for allowing us to enjoy you little peace of heaven in Baja.

The visit to this house was absolutely wonderful, best vacation in years. The highlights were fishing for Yellowtail, snorkeling, diving, spear fishing and swimming with whale sharks. That's right, whale sharks can be seen looking out the bay windows. Very clean, beautiful villa with its own protected private beach. Plenty of activities to do, more than a person could want. Perfect for kids since the beach is protected and almost always calm. The house itself is absolutely beautiful and I for sure would give it my highest recommendation. It is secluded, but yet close enough to Loreto and Mulage for ice cream trips and local shopping/restaurants. It really doesn't get better than this little piece of heaven on earth...Yes, I will for sure be going back, without a doubt!

Absolutely amazing. Casa de los Sueños was everything VRBO promised and more!!! Mike was really helpful in preparing us for our vacation - giving heads up on what to bring, what to leave behind, and how the house works. There are a few homes on the same cliff/hill area - but this is the absolute best. The beach is literally steps away, the views are ASTOUNDING, and we lucked into perfect weather. The house is impeccably clean, and well stocked. Having the Paddle Boards and Kayaks available for free was our favorite part. There are plenty of close islands, beaches, and safe flat water to paddle or sun bathe or fish... one day we took snorkel gear and paddled to a nearby island and collected clams for dinner. The next, the boys went to a different island and speared some Trigger fish for dinner. Us girls took the paddle boards over to the "nude beach" and laid in the sun with our toes in the water. Right in the small bay by the house, we saw tons of sting rays, a manta ray, star fish, sea urchins, a sea turtle, tons of birds we don't know the name of, tons of colorful fish... beauty everywhere! The boys chartered a blue water fishing boat, and came home with more fish than we could eat. We made Yellowfin sushi, grilled Pargo on the balcony, and had the best Ceviche of my life. The kitchen is fully stocked - but bring a filet knife if you're a fisherman! We borrowed one of the neighbor's knives (they were SO NICE!). Things to remember: This is a remotely located paradise!! Take Mike seriously when he tells you to bring sunblock, pesos, and any special food you'd like. If you go into Mulege for groceries - skip the first little grocery store, and find the one that's further into town (towards the left - I don't remember the street names). We were a group of middle-aged friends and couples, but this house would be great for anyone. Family, Reunion, Wedding Party, anything. It's huge and gorgeous. Call dibs on the upstairs Master Bedroom ;-)

This place is a hidden gem, perfect for those looking for a non-touristy, local flavor with lots of aquatic activity. We swam with whale sharks two out of our four day stay. They are magnificent majestic creatures. We also enjoyed taking the kayak out to the isla and looking at the variety of birds and then paddling through the mangroves. The great views and comfortable kitchen, eating area and veranda made our stay most enjoyable. A day trip into Mulege provided the surprise of nesting osprey in the telephone lines. We had one unfortunate fall near the Mission that required a check at the local clinic. The hospital staff was friendly, professional and inexpensive. Fortunately, nothing was broken.Casa de Los Suenos is a wonderful place.

What an AMAZING trip!! We had a combined trip with our family...mom, dad and two daughters and two other families. The endless activities and opportunities were surprising. Although desert all around, you have all the water activities you could ever want...swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, clamming, sailing, fishing, SCUBA, free diving...endless! You are right on the beach with perfect water access. Another pleasant surprise was the proximity to town, a short car ride and you have restaurants, stores and supplies. The house is perfect for multiple guests...big common open space with kitchen, dining, living room and also separate bedrooms of many sizes and a separate bungalow for more privacy. The owners have many local contacts and ideas for outings and are happy to provide suggestions. We went whale watching and surfing in the Pacific and both were spectacular! This part of Baja is unique and mostly undiscovered, a real treat and a great get-away. It was selected as the number one location in the world for an "Epic Trip" in the May 2012 "Men's Journal" for stand-up paddle-boarding, but the secret is not totally out yet. Perhaps most important is the ability to completely RELAX while there, the views are beautiful and just sitting on the balcony or reading a book are all you really need...

The Villa was exactly as described and the views are amazing. The property was very clean and well maintained. We walked down to the beach and enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling and afternoons in the hammock Margarita in hand. At night we enjoyed sitting on the beach looking at the star filled sky. Nearby towns of Mulege and San Nicholas offer whale watching, fishing and snorkeling excursions.

Los Suenos is a wonderful place.

What an incredible experience. We had the Casita and our friends were able to stay in the main villa for a few days. The beach equipment was great. The view is amazing! Our first time in that area and we will plan to come back. Loved the natural spring. We received great information from Mike. The trip to La Laguna was well worth it!

Most people fly into Loreto, rent a car and enjoy the scenic drive to Casa de Los Sueños. However we sailed into Bahia Concepcion and dropped our anchor right under Casa de Los Sueños! Many cruisers told us this was their favorite location in the Sea of Cortez and now it is our favorite too. We have enjoyed swimming with whale sharks (yes, right in our own cove for the past week!!!), snorkeling around the point and nearby beaches and islands, kayaking, fishing, spearfishing, night-snorkeling, clamming, SCUBA diving, hiking, and sightseeing around the nearby coves, historic Mulege and Santa Rosalia. You can fish right in the bay, or world-class day fishing trips can be arranged through the owners or managers, or through local fishing expert Chuy. We now have a freezer jam-packed with yellowtail! The spacious and beautiful villa (three levels) sleeps up to 16, and the cozy Casita is perfect for a couple. We were able to relax on the veranda, cold drink in hand, and keep an eye on our vessel that was safely anchored in the calm water beneath us. We also loved viewing the stars and constellations at night. Our friend told us he hasn’t seen such a star-filled sky since he was a boy in Montana. The owners have done a great job of including all the toys you could possibly want including a variety of kayaks, SUPs, snorkeling gear, fishing poles, etc. Both the main Villa and Casita have outdoor BBQs for grilling your fresh catch of the day. Carmen and Manuel can be available to help out and, for a very reasonable price, Carmen will be happy to cook traditional meals. We loved it so much we were lucky to be able to extend our stay and invite friends to join us. Casa de Los Sueños is perfect for an adventure vacation, for a meditative retreat, and everything in between. We intend to make this an annual pilgrimage, whether we cruise in or fly in. Thank you Casa de Los Sueños! See you next year.

Owner response: T&S, It was my pleasure having you 2 around. The environment of Baja and your friendship made for a perfect 3 weeks. I know your sailing adventure will take you many places, but I hope you consider making the Bay of Conception - Casa de los Suenos, your second home when ever you can. Sail safe but never pass up an experience to stretch your immigration. MM

My group thought this was a rustic shack from the way the owners talk about it. This place is a palace! The main house is 3 stories, with the top level a HUGE master bedroom with a small child's room built into it. The private patio and shower overlooking the bay were incredible. The main floor is where the kitchen, dining room, and a big living room are. Everything overlooks the water and beautiful sunsets. The kitchen has all of the amenities that you could ask for, and there is a bbq grill on the deck. We pulled a few extra chairs outside to take advantage of the cool evenings and view. We snorkeled, swam, spear fished, paddle boarded, kayaked, had a fire on the beach, tanned, collected clams, explored and had an amazing time. We were able to harvest and eat something every day. We didn't make it out to the whales, but saw a lot of marine wildlife, including sting rays, dolphins, yellow tail, huge trigger fish, pargo, cabrilla, shrimp, lobster, crab, and a ton of beautiful reef fish that looked like they belong in an aquarium. We visited Mulege and enjoyed the small town atmosphere mixed with very friendly and welcome locals. Food everywhere was amazing, and relatively inexpensive. Make sure you bring sunscreen and convert dollars to Pesos. There are a lot of stairs to get to the house and down to the beach, so be prepared for that. The house has kayaks and paddle boards to explore the bay. Bring your camera, a pair of sandals, and your bathing suit. House was neatly cleaned, and the photos don't do it justice. If you and your family or group want to experience Baja while staying in a beautiful private place, this is your spot.
