?We had a wonderful 4 days in this beautiful vacation home. I have never been in a place that was so well equipped and beautifully decorated. I am sure.. if you forgot something... it is there. The backyard is beautiful, quiet and very private. Our host was amazing.. he went out of his way to accommodate our truck with a very large camper. He was extremely helpful in helping us choose a restaurant and things to see and do while in Albuquerque. I think our favorite place was the Mexican Market where you can buy an amazing assortment of fruits and vegetable and the tortillas are freshly made. This is a great place for a getaway for those who don't want the hassle of hotels and restaurants every night. We will be back....

Richard was a very personable host and made my friends and I feel very welcome. The home was beautiful and perfect for the three of us. We really enjoyed the outside area and swing in the evening. The walk to downtown/ the train, and to old town was not far at all and we felt safe the whole time. Thank you again Richard and thank you again for being such a wonderul host.

This was our first time staying at Casa De Siesta. It was very comfortable for our 4-week stay in ABQ. Everything was furnished and well maintained. Sleep Number bed was great, plush towels, and even terry robes were provided. Richard is a great host and does his best to make his guests "family". The enchilada cooking class was fun and the food was great. The location is close to Old Town and the Interstate and getting around is easy. The weather was cold so we did not get to enjoy sitting in the courtyard. Maybe next time.

We returned to this wonderful casita for the Thanksgiving holiday this year. We were visiting my daughter and grand-daughter in Albuquerque. We were both very happy to return to this cozy warm casita. Richard, thank you for making the home extra special with all the Thanksgiving decorative touches and of course the wonderful Krispy Kreme donuts, we really enjoyed them. Our stay was great, the casita was immaculate, cozy and warm. We really enjoyed having our Thanksgiving dinner at the casita with my daughter, and grand-daughter, we relaxed outside in the courtyard, while our turkey was in the oven and enjoyed the wonderful Albuquerque weather. My grand-daughter was so happy to once again see "El Burro". Thank you for all you do to make us feel so welcome in your home. We will certainly return to visit you, el burro and of course Oso!!

All the comforts of home were provided at this quaint casita. Lots of space - seating areas, nice TV, fully stocked kitchen and host provided great coffee, nice outdoor area for entertaining, private and secure parking for your car. Beds were comfie and home was very clean and charming. You can't beat this location - short walk to coffee shops, grocery, bike rentals, Old Town - and the price a good value too!

Our third stay at the Casa de Siesta was as enjoyable as ever. It's a joy to return to familiar surroundings but this time we had surprises with the Halloween decorations and a donut treat! Everything written in the description of the house and yard is accurate. You can count on excellent accommodations and a most responsive host. Thanks, Richard.

We enjoyed our stay at the casita very much. The location is terrific -- we were able to walk to many attractions. Richard, our host, offered excellent suggestions on events and dining which he thought might be of interest to us. The casita has all the necessary appliances including a great coffee make with supplied coffee beans (pinon-choc.). The king bed is comfy, the bath towels are luxurious and the living is easy. I saw a hot air baloon drift of the patio one morning -- quite a sight. I would definitely recommend this casita to my friends. Thank you, Richard ... for being an attentive host but never intrusive.

I am glad that the realtor that I suggest to you helped narrow down your selections. Hopefully you find the home to call your own in our beautiful city...then we will be neighbors! My husband and I visited Albuquerque, NM and stayed in this wonderful casita. We had our grand-daughter with us and we all enjoyed the casita sooooo much. Richard was a wonderful host and provided everything that we needed and then some! We were able to have our grand-daughter's 5th birthday celebration in the lovely courtyard. The home was super clean, very comfortable and we were able to walk to restaurants and stores nearby, not to mention it was close to our daughter's apartment. We felt at home at the casita, we cooked, barbequed, and enjoyed just lounging and watching movies when we weren't on the go. Richard is a wonderful person and his love of his home shows in the way he has paid attention to all the fine details and decorating. Thank you Richard for the opportunity to stay in your little home. Our grand-daughter was sad to leave and most of all to leave "el burro", which she named "Golden". We will certainly return to the casita on our next visit to Albuquerque, which hopefully will be really soon.

We have used vacation rentals in the past but have never been as delighted as we were with this experience. As a physically challenged person who relies on a wheelchair for mobility, a new living environment presents many unique accommodations. The owner not only did everything possible to make the casita comfortable, safe and accessible, he made it easy!! We were able to indulge in a catered enchilada dinner with some cooking tips we will use and appreciate...magnifique!! The owner also guided us and assisted us to locate some treasured chilies to bring home with us. We could not have asked for anything more...he went above and beyond in every way. The casita was clean, comfortably air conditioned and the outside area was a pleasant area to relax and refresh. We were provided with an abundance of information about local events, shopping and restaurants. We would gladly recommend this rental and will want to stay there again if we can return to the area. .

Owner response: Frank and Pat, it was my pleasure and no problem to provide you with a space that was accommodating to your needs...Pat, I also enjoyed sitting outside in the courtyard with you while Frank serenaded us with traditional Spanish songs on his guitar...You both are very special people and I hope that you come back soon...God Bless you both...Richard

This is a charmingly decorated casita with ALL the amenities. Richard has put himself in his guests' shoes and thought of everything. During our 5 day stay my husband and I began each morning sipping delicious coffee, the beans having been provided for us, and it was always a pleasure to return to these peaceful surroundings after shopping, sightseeing, etc. The highlight of our stay was making chili enchiladas with Richard, who used his mother's recipe. My son joined us to help prepare this delicious meal, and we all sat down to enjoy good food and friendship. We love ABQ and will surely stay in this delightful casita when we return.

My daughter & I loved our stay in Casa de Siesta. Richard is a wonderful host- perfect combination of privacy and oversight. We decided not to rent a vehicle during our stay and found it very easy to get to many destinations by bus, train, bike, or walking. For example, we were within walking distance of restaurants, Old Town, Downtown, and a grocery store. It was an easy bus ride to Nob Hill and the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. We took the train to Santa Fe and spent the day there. I'd recommend renting a bike from Routes, a neighborhood bike store (also in walking distance) and using the Rio Grande trail to get to other destinations and parts of town. We also found a great public pool within walking or biking distance to escape the afternoon heat. All in all, we loved the Casa, Richard, and Albuquerque. We will be back.

My husband and I spent 4 days (way too short) at Casa de Siesta, the second time for me, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Richard is a fine and generous host, and the casa itself it well located and wonderfully appointed. Every thing we neeeded, and more, was there. Comfortable inside and out (lovely front yard -- three tables to choose from, and a glider to relax in) -- fine kitchen with whatever you need for preparing meals. Quiet neighborhood. Very clean and welcoming! We would come again. Kay and Daniel from Winnipeg, Canada

Richard is a fantastic host. He had fresh lilac blossoms in the house when we arrived and went above and beyond to make the home safe for our three year old. The super cool automatic coffee maker was a big deal, but not as big a deal as the Pinon Coffee Beans we were so lucky to sample. I could go on and on, you'll just have to see for yourself! We will always check for vacancy at Richard's house when we're in ABQ.

Richard is a wonderful host and goes out of his way to ensure that his guests have everything they need. My suitcase was missing for the first night, and Richard provided sample size toiletries and even complained to the airline on my behalf. He is always available for questions and his airport pickup and delivery is a bonus. The casita is quiet, comfortable, and conveniently located. I don't cook, while I'm on vacation, but you could easily throw a dinner party with everything he provides in the kitchen. The king size bed is super comfy with an electric blanket and lots of pillows. After a day of sightseeing, the flat screen tv with cable channels was a relaxing way to spend our evenings.

IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO FEEL THE LOVE IN THIS WONDERFUL CASITA AND THE LOVE AND GIFT THAT RICHARD SHARES IN SERVING HIS GUEST. LOCATION WAS GREAT FOR US. OF COURSE, OLD TOWN IS NEARBY. Host Richard has thought of everything in this sweet 3 room casita. If you are into cooking, every appliance, utensil, pot. pan, etc. is there. If you are into reading, loads of fiction and non-fiction await you. If you are into media, there is a flat screen HDTV, DVD player with plenty of movies, audio tapes..... Comfort abounds in the large upholstered chairs, sofa and Sleep Number bed. The property is very clean and well taken care of. It provides secure off-street parking behind a locked gate. A roomy private patio features a gas grill, good seating and visual interest. Richard welcomed us to the property and was quite attentive, explaining all we needed to know for a comfortable stay. We will definitely stay at the Casa Siesta again and will certainly recommend it to others. Near Old Town, museums, botanical garden, aquarium, Downtown, Central Ave. and Nob Hill.

We just spent a lovely week in this casita. My 94-year-old grandmother was visiting Albuquerque for her birthday, and she is no longer able to navigate the stairs at my house, so we rented the Casa de Siesta for her. She was completely delighted with the decor, with the charm, and with Richard. Everything is single-level, and with wide doorways and ample turning space, she was whizzing around the house with her walker. She loved the gigantic bed, and I slept very well on the daybed. The coffee-maker and Richard's piñon coffee were a perfect start for every morning. Halloween in this neighborhood was CRAZY in a wonderful way. I've never seen so many trick-or-treaters and such fun. I will definitely recommend the Casa de Siesta to the rest of my visiting family members and friends!

We had a wonderful stay at the Casa Siesta while visiting children and grandchildren in Albuquerque. The location was ideal and we walked everywhere, including a walk to the Bosque through a beautiful neighborhood on a glorious fall day. The property was as advertised, with absolutely everything we needed. We loved the dinner our family prepared under Richard's guidance, using his mother's recipe for enchilladas. Richard is the perfect host, available and able to offer assistance, if needed. Hope to see you again soon when we visit the family.

The listing, and the photos accurately portray Casa de Siesta as the owner Richard likes to describe the place. But what they can't describe what makes the place so special is Richard himself and the care he took to make our stay so comfortable and relaxing. Richard offered suggestions on places to see on our first visit to Albuquerque, and made sure there was nothing we needed in his place. On our last day we shopped with Richard for the ingredients to our Red Chili Enchilada dinner which we cooked together. I feel I am not adequately painiting a picture of a wonderful place and host. When we go back to ABQ we will arrange out schedule , if possible , to stay at Casa de Siesta. Oh, and the place is near downtown, and Old Town. We enjoyed the theatre downtown, the trolley tour and restaurants of Old Town and got away to the Tram to Sandia Mountain Peak. A side trip on the Rail Runner to Santa Fe is worth the trip. And finally Richard also provides a great coffee to enjoy and an unlimited supply of movies for every taste. For those times when we just wanted to relax and do nothing. And his back yard is also a delight to just chill out in and enjoy the sunshine.

Owner response: John and Kathy, Thank you so much for your kind words. My heart's desire is to see that each of my guest(s) is well taken care of. I am glad that I was able to help you out from the start of your visit by picking you up at the Airport and taking you to the Casita,it was no problem at all. I am also glad that I was able to negotiate a better price, on your behalf, concerning your Car Rental with Enterprise as well...I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your homemade meal/cooking class we really did have lots of fun! You both were truly nice people and I too enjoyed your visit. As described in the listing Casa DE Siesta is very convenient to most of our major tourist attractions and I am so happy that my suggestions were helpful. Hope to see you again soon, your friend Richard...

Richard, thank you so much for such a wonderful stay. I truly enjoyed meeting you and Oso. The casita was perfect with all of its charm and beautiful decor - it had everything I needed! The back patio was so relaxing and allowed me to unwind after a long day. What a great location and such an easy walk to downtown, grocery store, etc. The neighborhood is quiet and I always felt very safe. I look forward to staying here again during my next visit to NM. Thanks again for a memorable trip!

This was our first trip to Albuquerque and it is the first time ever booking a vacation home online. We were very pleased with our host Richard ashe went above and beyond at meeting our needs . The house was decorated very nicely as Richard has a eye for colors and decorating. We enoyed the fresh Pinon coffee every morning and I must say it was amazing . We all enoyed our authentic homemade Spanish style meal that Richard made too. This was our first vacation where we felt like we could really relax and be ourselves and we enoyed Richard's conversation and wealth of knowledge regarding New Mexico . The home was located beautifully in Albuquerque and that there was alot of things to do within walking distance and our 2 teenagers loved the place and that it had Wifi . ** The stay at this home was Excellent >> Thanks so much for everything Richard , we are considering another vacation there someday soon and Richard you are THE BOMB !

We liked this house in the hub of Albuquerque. The private garden is a plus. Richard is a charming host. Everything is provided for. We would have stayed longer had it been possible.

From the Select Number King Size bed at one end, to the well-equipped kitchen at the other – and the large, comfortable living space in-between – Casa de Siesta has it all. The central location of this great neighborhood offers easy access to the Rio Grande bike trail, zoo, aquarium, botanical gardens, museums and Old Town; not to mention numerous restaurants, a coffee house, bike rentals and the not-to-be-missed Golden Crown Bakery (try the green chili bread and pizzas). Additionally, we felt the home had a warmth and spirit about it that made for a soothing and restful stay. A life-long native, Richard is a wealth of New Mexican culture, history and hospitality. He also offers a special New Mexican Cuisine cooking night, which we highly recommend. While your comfort and privacy are his first concern, it's difficult not to want to spend as much time as possible learning from him. We share the comments of previous guests; Casa de Siesta is a must stay when in ABQ. We'll be back, and so will you. P.S. If you don't know your sleep number, start with 40.

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Peaceful, quite, very clean and central to everything. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare the meals we wanted. The bed was awesome. We were very comfortable there. The host went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and to make it a very pleasant stay for us. This is the only place we will stay in Albuquerque. The host cared about his guest and made sure everthing was just right for an enjoyable stay. We highly recommend this place to everyone.

Our stay at Casa de Siesta couldn't have been better. The photos were spot-on, as was the listing, and anything you could want in amenities (a large selection of maps, tourist guides, a list of local activities, a complete supply of housewares, etc., etc., etc.!) had been provided. Richard is a charming host, warm and friendly, all the while respecting our privacy. We had a wonderful week at this lovely hacienda and look forward to returning.

CdeS is a charming, comfortable place! Richard, a fine host! These combined to make our time in ABQ most enjoyable. The convenient location is a definite plus, you can spend your time having fun rather than going to and from the fun. If you're more into quiet restfulness it has that too. The park complex, botanical, zoo and aquarium are within a five minute drive----great place for a picnic or walk and should be glorious in the spring weather. Cultural features are also close. And there's a great bakery a few blocks away. I highly recommend CdeS for whatever kind of vacation you'd like in ABQ. I look forward eagerly to my next visit with Richard and Oso (lovely bear of a dog).

Owner response: Owner response: THANK YOU GAIL AND KAY FOR BEING SUCH GREAT GUESTS! When creating this vacation rental home I have tried to think of all the common necessities and amenities that a guest would possible need, enjoy, and appreciate. I always communicate with my guests daily, during their stay, to make sure everything is to their liking. I also take into consideration all suggestions and comments made and I am very prompt to see that they are taken care of to the best of my ability. My first official guests from Georgia and Canada were such a delight. We became friends quickly and we truly enjoyed each other’s company and honest conversation. Gail suggested that a toaster oven would be helpful to future guests and that a box of Kleenex in the bedroom near the bed was needed. These suggestions have been taken into consideration and they are now available for use. To all my future guests let it be known, I appreciate any positive feedback from you and with your help I will shoot for excellence and will always continue do so!!! Sincerely at your service, Richard...
