A charming updated house in the Utopian community of Old Fairhope, Popum Cottage is walking distance to beautiful Mobile Bay. A terrace with pergola overlooks the private garden and woods beyond, the yard is completely fenced. There is a spacious living room with massive stone working fireplace, a private dining room with French doors opening to the terrace, an eat in kitchen, and a large light-filled Florida room provide year-round enjoyment both inside and out. The house is approximately 1950 sq ft.
Fairhope is a year-round favorite spot for art, walking, golf, tennis, boating, fishing or just relaxing. There are numerous top golf courses within an hour's drive, including courses on the Robert Trent Jones golf trail. There are wonderful outdoor art shows and art walks, as well as theatre, in Fairhope. The town is home to several top quality independent bookstores.
Spectacular sunsets on Mobile Bay are three minutes away, as is the well preserved historic center of town, with its art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, bookstores and museums. If want unique shops and eating places, here they are. If you prefer large supermarkets and well-known chain restaurants, they are minutes away on highway 98.
Excellent medical facilities and easy access to freeways. Half an hour to Mobile; Gulf Shores beaches or Pensacola are 45 minutes. The freshest seafood awaits you in the bay (if you fish) or at dozens of local restaurants. The spring arts festival is not to be missed, Mardi Gras celebrations here are for the whole family, and activities on the bay or Gulf appeal to all ages.
