  we were there for 3 nights. It is clean and nicely decorated without too much stuff. Everything worked well. it's a perfect distance from the beach, an easy walk to get there but not too much sand in your face. it really had a nice view and a nice deck. We couldn't have asked for better. It would be nice to be in a place with a pool though, we sort of missed that.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

  The beach house was wonderful but the beach was another story. It was awful,covered with massive amounts of seaweed,we couldn't even get to the water. Texas needs to take more pride in their beaches and clean them up. I wish someone had given us some kind of warning about the condition of the beach. The property was lovely and we enjoyed it. I am not sure I would return because of the beach.

  I would definitely recommend this house. My husband, mother-in-law, twin 3 yr. old daughters and I spent a week in September at Kathy's Kottage and had the best time. The house was even better than expected. Very clean and lots of room. The ocean views are awesome from the balconies. I enjoyed coffee every morning looking out at the ocean. The house is within walking distance to the beach which was very nice. The beach club was great. We are looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you Terry for sharing your wonderful beach house.

  This home was very clean, spacious, and not far from the beach and with so may amenities we didn't want to leave. My board and I had an excellent time and want to come back for our retreat next year.

  This is a sweet house, every bit as nice as the photos. Very clean, well maintained, had everything we needed. Porches are breezy and shaded for most of the day - good views of gulf from porch off living area, and you can see the bayside, too from the top deck off master suite. Short walk to the beach. Beach & gulf water were clean and uncrowded. The Pointe West Beach Club pools are great too... clean, cool water makes a nice alternative to the surf. Do stock up with kitchen & bath supplies and food as you are a 30 minute drive from downtown Galveston. Renting a golf cart was well worth the money - we could get to everything in Pointe West on the cart without starting or cooling down the car, and it was fun to drive. Want a special dinner out? Gaido's in Galveston was top notch. It was a perfect end-of-summer getaway.

Of course Harrison's Seven Seas Grocery Store is only 8 miles away (10 minutes), but the prices are a little higher. They pretty much have anything you leave behind. See you next summer!

  My family of five, all adults, just vacationed at the lovely Kathy's Kottage at Pointe West Resort last week and it was awesome! Ryson Real Estate made the process very smooth and everything was clean and ready for us upon our arrival. The house is just as nice as pictured, if not nicer and it came with everything we needed for our week of fun. The master bed and bath were just beautiful! The views are lovely from the house and we enjoyed dining outside on the porches/balconies. The beaches were very clean and we enjoyed daily beach walks and had fun in the ocean. We also enjoyed the pools at the resort but we were disappointed that the bar at the pool was closed early and the restaurant there was not open. We were told that they had most of their staff "walk off the job" the day before, so they were short staffed. That was probably the only negative occurence during our stay. I have already recommended this house to others and would definitely return, but next time for a longer stay!

  We stayed at Kathy's Kottage over Memorial weekend. We loved the house - it was very clean and nice. It was perfect for two families with three young boys. The negative feedback I have is 1) there were not proper instructions for setting up and connecting to the wireless network and the rental place, Ryson, was not helpful. 2) we rented golf carts which is necessary unless you want to load cars to get to the beach club and/or walk a ways to the beach. The neighbors to the east were not nice about driving the carts around back to park under cover. They stated to stay off there property. if this is an issue, all renters should be informed as it was a very uncomfortable exchange.

  Owner response: Thanks for the feedback Maria. This is what helps us make the next guest's experience even better. 1) I will get with Ryson on the internet issue and have them put simple connection instructions in plain view. 2) Definitely, golf carts are the way to go in Pointe West, as the resort is huge. Luckily, getting to the beach is a simple walk past 5 houses to the end of the block. 3) Sorry to here about the neighbors. Technically, golf carts are not permitted on the grass anywhere in Pointe West and should be left in the driveway. The Owner's Association sends us emails reminding us of this often. I do not mind guests of Kathy's Kottage parking their carts in the front yard when necessary.

  We stayed at Kathy's Kottage for one night to attend a concert at the Opera House. The place is beautiful and has everything you need for comfort. The beach was in great condition and the access to the club was great! We drove into the strand that evening for dinner and the concert and the scenery is incredible. We sill surely return to this home!

  I never knew that Galveston had such a resort like Pointe West. I thought you had to get on an airplane and fly to get to a resort like this. The Club was fantastic, the beaches nice and the house even better. We stayed at Kathy's Cottage during our spring break. The kids and the adults all had a blast. Nice neighborhood and nice people all around us, visiting from deferent areas. This home is so nice that we will be back again. The downstairs living area and Kitchen had the most beautiful views all day long. The bed in the master suite was more comfortable than the one we have at home. We even checked to see the mattress and the set up. Our stay in this home was worth every penny!

  Owner response: Galveston is indeed a great place to visit during Spring Break. There is no need to drive to South Padre or even Florida to get a full service resort when Pointe West is nicer AND closer.   We stayed a few nights in Kathy's Kottage during the "off season". Rental rates were lower and the weather was perfect - not too cold or too hot. We love Galveston this time of year. It was so peaceful and so beautiful. The owner was very accommodating in finding us just the right dates to match our schedule and budget. It was just a middle-aged couple’s getaway. We had guests join us one evening and the Kitchen was perfect for preparing a nice dinner. (Just remember to bring everything you need.) We only drive over to the club house once to check it out, but we basically spent our time enjoying the views from the balconies with a few walks on the beach. The house was fully furnished with everything you need: linens, small appliances, Direct TV, nice furniture, comfortable bedding, etc.. An overnight amount of soap and shampoo was provided, so if you plan on staying longer, you might think about bringing your own. Can't wait to return to this place!

  My wife and I had the oppurtunity to enjoy Kathy's Kottage on a quiet overcast winter weekend. There wasn't much traffic on the island that weekend (PERFECT) for a couple of Houstonian's looking to get away from the grind. Peaceful is the best way to describe our visit. The master bedroom offers a nice view of the Gulf along with the community lake and water fountain. Everything in the house worked and was VERY CLEAN. It is our intention to return to this property in the very near future. RA - Houston, Texas

  We spent a month this winter ant Kathy’s Cottage and really enjoyed our stay there. The house was very comfortable and the owners were very reasonable. The house has a beautiful sunset view and easy access to Surfside across the bridge just a mile or so west. We got to see some great wildlife and spend some peaceful time on the beach both at the house and up and down the west end. It was great and will do it again. I sometimes wonder why more people do not take advantage of the beautiful fall and winter on the island and great accommodations like Kathy’s Cottage.

  Our first visit to Galveston in years and our first ever in the Point West resort. WOW were we surprised! Kathy's Kottage is a beautiful, new home that we just loved. The living dining kitchen is on the first level and the master on the second. The location of the house is great. The beach was an easy walk even carrying chairs, umbrella, etc.. Tractors even kept the beaches cleaned of seaweed. We enjoyed sitting on the decks in the shade and just feeling the breeze each morning and evening. Pointe west has a really nice Beach Club that has multiple pools and a restaurant. The kids loved it, even the older ones. We visited The Strand and went to Schlitterahn Waterpark. We will definitely be back soon.
