If you are a snob, don't bother staying here. This place is not for snobs, it is not a luxury place. However, in my humble opinion I don't understand the need for luxury when going to the Poconos...the Pocono region really isn't that type of place. It is for people to enjoy nature at its best. This place is for people who like rustic but comfortable. This place is for people that like quirky but charming. This place is for people who go away to enjoy the people they are traveling with. It completely has the feel of a mountain lodge in the woods. It also felt very homey and as if I had been here before. We were all thrilled to see a whole flock of wild Turkeys in the back yard almost as soon as we arrived. There is plenty of room to spread out here (there were 10 of us total) and with traveling with four kids 12, 13 year old twins and 15, it was perfect! There are three bedrooms, one with a king and the other two with full size beds. I can picture myself here in the Summer and using the huge deck with built in seating, nice outdoor dining table, stone grill and outdoor fire pit. After a long day of skiing it was the best ever to come back to this inviting place, build a fire in the huge (and I mean HUGE) stone fireplace, drink hot cider, (spiked for the adults) and relax in the great room where there is plenty of seating and space for everyone. There is a really cool wet bar in the corner, a dart board, and a card / game table. There are TV's in every room if you feel like watching TV. Since this is a ranch house, everything is on one level so no hauling luggage (or sore legs from skiing) up and down steps...very convenient. Now let me mention the owner and what a pleasure he was to deal with. I booked this place at the last minute and the owner could not have been any more accommodating. I truly appreciate how accommodating and easy he was to work with. I was very nervous about booking a place from someone I don't know since I normally stay at a friend's friend's condo when coming to Lake Harmony. He returned all of my calls and emails immediately; and answered all of my questions, very truthfully. He went above and beyond in accommodating my requests. Thanks Frank!!!!! We will definitely be back to your very cool place!! We loved it!!!! ~Kim G.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I just spent a long weekend at this ranch house in Lake Harmony, PA. We were so pleased with our stay that I wanted to make sure we spread the word. First, the price can't be beat. You could easily pay double at any of the nearby ski mountains or resorts and get half the space. We would have paid nearly as much staying in the Best Western. Second, the location is great! This house would work well for either a summer or winter vacation. We were within walking distance (especially in warmer weather) to the Split Rock Resort which has the indoor waterpark (my three kids - 8,4,3 - loved it) and other activities for the kids (bowling alley, movie theatre, etc). The house sits right between Jack Frost and Big Boulder mountains if you like to ski/snowboard. We ended up going about 25 miles to Camelback where they have a larger snowtubing run that allows double tubes (Big Boulder only allows single riders which would mean our little ones couldn't tube). And of course, it's a short drive to most other poconos activities (we even drove about an hour to the Crayola factory). In the summer the house is a short walk to the lake where there is access to a community beach. Third, there were deer absolutely EVERYWHERE, especially late afternoon around dusk. The first night we were there we saw dozens (no exaggeration) of deer right in the backyard (something those of us from Brooklyn don't get to see everyday). Finally, the house was well taken care of, had plenty of room to sleep 10 (though we were only 5). If you are looking for "luxury" accommodations, then this probably isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, spacious place to stay at a very reasonable price, then look no further. The beds were comfortable...the kitchen was well enough equipped, the fireplace was great, the showers were hot and there wasn't a moment on our trip where we thought that there was anything essential missing from our stay! Thanks, Frank! We hope to stay again!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
