I can't say enough good things about this place. Location is OUTSTANDING. Close to Okemo, Killington, and the surrounding mountains. We day-tripped to Manchester to do some outlet shopping as well. The accommodations were great. My wife and 3 children were all comfortable and happy. Everything you need is extremely organized! We even skated on the lake! We can't wait to go back next year! Two thumbs up all the way around!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

The property is all it is advertised to be: Log cabin and detached garage are immaculate and the grounds are very well kept. All you need to bring is food, drink, and a bathing suit. Owner is very accomodating. Front porch is spectacular. Not many steps from house to water...maybe 5, which is great for the elders. Kayaks are in great shape. Don't forget to lie on the dock and stare at the stars. Lake Rescue is the best. Many sites within a half an hour...Bromley, Okemo, Buttermilk Falls, Woodstock, Weston, Long Trail Brewing.......Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The listing description and photos were very accurate in describing the property and we were very pleased with the house. It was spotless and very cozy. The kitchen was well-thought out and everything was convenient to use, whether we were cooking a big pasta dinner or tossing together a quick breakfast. The house is a 10-minute drive to the mountain and there are lots of restaurants to choose from nearby, however, reservations are recommended, especially during busy seasons. We plan to come back and enthusiastically recommend this property. The owner is very friendly and responsive and our experience, overall, was very positive.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Having spent time with our son and his family in this very cabin 10 years ago, we found a location that met and even exceeded our fond memories. This is a lovely quiet area for smaller children (our granddaughter, 3 years old, found the grounds just right, with wading areas off the docks). We were able to entertain family members staying nearby quite comfortably, especially while making s'mores around the fire pit. The kayaks also received extensive use during our stay, as did the foosball table above the garage. This was a true "home away from home".Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2001
Why the Owner Chose Lake Rescue:
Because you can sleeep with the windows open in the summer and in the winter when you go to the mountain everyone skis. Our family has been coming to Lake Rescue since 1986 and we purchased our cabin in 2001. The lake is great in the summer and fall, skiing is great in the winter. Okemo and Killington are the closest but I have made day trips from Mt. Snow to Jay Peak and every mountain in between.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Swim, kayak, sail, hike, bike, and ski, something to do all year long. The level of activity can range from beginner to expert in any activity. Kayak the lake or white water down the Black River, Okemo and Killington have challenges for everyone, do a day hike or go overnight on the Appalchain Trail, Road Bike or Mountain Bike. There is always more to do than time.
