Outstanding lake views and access. Outstanding beach and wading/swimming. Lake Ann is 527 acres of beautiful water with access to another lake by connecting Platte River through which it flows. It is rated as the top fishing lake in Benzie County and yet allows for many other kinds of simultaneous recreational uses. Virtually all species of freshwater fish are found here. There are only two other public accesses on this pristine lake. It is also fed by Ransom Creek which flows through a recreational hiking area and Preserve. The cottage itself is set on over two acres of land with 170 feet of Lake Ann Shoreline off Birch Glen Road. It is less than two miles from the charming village of Lake Ann which has a church, bank, restaurant, library, park, museum, tennis courts, professional offices, pizza place, Post Office, grocery and general store. State Forest land is within easy walking distance. Traverse City, with its many shops, theaters and restaurants only 13 miles to the east.
Comments from this summer's renters:: 'The cottage is very well laid out and has just everything!' 'The water was great and made the best coffee.' 'The bed gave me the best sleep I've had in a long time.' (Tom and Cheryl Tanner)
Your pictures just don't do the cottage justice! The WIFI is the strongest we've seen; we were able to Skype® our beach wedding all the way to Spain!
When you say the cottage has everything....it DOES have everything.....even wood is included for the fire ring.
Private and beautiful setting.: In times like these, when people are concerned with ecology and the environment, we are adjacent to woodlands, still undeveloped; some private and some state land. There is such a variety of trees-white birch, oak, maple, pine, aspen, cedar and others. They are truly beautiful in all seasons. One feels secluded here on the shores of this beautiful lake; yet is is near many other points of interest.
For the patient and watchful, there is an abundance of wild life. A deer or rabbit may be seen. Raccoon are abundant. Many waterfowl, including the mute swan and common loon, make their summer home here. The seven hundred acres of Lake Ann provide good habitat for various iinds of fish. Most plentifuyl are blue gill, large and smallmouth bass, and northern pike. This lake is partly spring fed, hence the water is clear and clean. It is the headwater of the famous trout stream, the Platte River.

We had a great stay at the cottage. It was super clean and well stocked and the hosts are amazing. They are very gracious and provide more amenities than I could ever expect to find at a rental. The pictures definitely do not do this cottage justice. The furniture is both plentiful and comfortable. There are 3 rocker/recliners and 2 couches in the large living room so there is plenty of room. The beds are new and the entire cottage is stocked with very nice linens. The canoe and pedal boat were great for relaxing, quiet mornings on the lake. We are avid birders, and seeing so many species was awesome! My husband likes to fish, so the boat was great for that too. Firewood was stocked both at the beach fire ring and up by the house which was really convenient. The cottage is only 10 miles or so from Traverse City's main shopping area and restaurants, and also a convenient drive to Sleeping Bear, Glen Lake and Lake Leelanau for great day-excursions and hiking. The local but famous Moomers ice cream is also only a few miles away. We had a great stay with the perfect combination of day trips, fishing, birding and just plain relaxing in front of the nice fireplace inside on the rainy day we had. We would definitely rent here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our stay at the Palarski vacation home rental was the best we've had in the 20 years we have vacationed in the Lake Ann Area. The family goes above and beyond to accommodate their renters. Their home and setting is private, immaculate but warm and inviting, the view of Lake Ann and large private beach, out of a movie set, fishing - the best we've done in the area. Something for everyone location wise inbetween Sleepy Bear and Traverse City. We cannot say enough about our 2010 vacation we will always recommend their home and we will always vacation there in the future when staying in Michigan. Thank you Parlski Family!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Home was everything as advertised along with the wonderful view of the lake. The bat show each evening and early morning was something different and unique. Very pretty lake for boating. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking this type of vacation. Very gracious and hospitable owners. They do exactly as they say and are very honest. Great Week !Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
