We were blown away by how adorable the cabin is. My 4 year old daughter asked if this is where the three bears live. It is totally fairy tale-like. The kitchen was a great size and they even had coffee beans and a grinder for the freshest most delicious coffee. The cabin is very private and cozy. We will be back!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I stayed at Moon Mountain over Christmas (2010) it was like a magical white wonderland with a beautiful carpet of snow laid down perfectly in front of each cabin. The cabins were meticulously decorated and well kept. We had a herd of majestic Elk roaming right in front of our cabin every morning. We skied at White Pass for two days it’s a first class resort. WE WILL BE BACK MANY MANY TIMES. Highly recommended P.S. Just a small suggestion I think you should get a salt block for the Elk.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1979
About the owner: We bought this property in 1979. We moved here from Salt Lake City, Utah and as one of the locals said "once that moss grows on your back"...you'll never leave. Well, he was right.
Why the Owner Chose Packwood:
This vacation rental was home when the kids were small. After they left home, we wanted to share our piece of Paradise. The house was renovated and the two cabins were moved from other locations. The eagles are back and there is nothing that beats waking up to here them singing. The resident elk eat everything we plant but they are one of the things we love best. The coyotes are rarely seen but we hear them. Had a bear in the tree this year...wow. The stars are the brightest anywhere.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Beautiful, peaceful mountain retreat. Enjoy exploring Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, skiing at White Pass and hiking the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
Our cabins and farmhouse have deluxe mattresses, down comforters, fully-equipped kitchens, wood stoves, beautiful views, and many more amenities.
