This house is fantastic! It looks great from the photos, but they do not do it justice. The lodge and lake are just picturesque. We enjoyed a big chill weekend just relaxing on the deck and sitting by the fire in the den. The weather was chilly on our visit, but we didn't care. We watched movies in the movie theater at night and it was awesome. The house has so many amenities that you have no reason to leave it during your stay. The house has everything. We will definitely be going back for another relaxing weekend. The owner is so great to work with and answered all of my questions. The lodge is our new favorite vacation place.

I lived in the cabin from August 31st to September 3rd 2012. The temperature was on average high of 82 degrees to low of 68 degrees. The water was an approx temperature of 68 degrees and 16.5 feet below peak depth. A few feet from the bank, you could not see the floor through the surprisingly clear water. No, the water depth was not an issue except when you forgot the beer in the house ;-). The Basically, the conditions were perfect. There were a total of 9 full sized men staying at the house. The house's 5 bedrooms accommodated us in a way I never thought possible, I didn't have to worry about anything but relaxing too little. We did the following during our stay: --We cooked 2 full breakfasts, 2 might lunches, and 2 dinner feasts. They provided ever cooking instrument needed including all small ingredients and grill with 2 extra propane tanks. We ate like kings. --Every night, we would start a fire in the outside pit with provided ample fire wood. Yes, you have to make smores. --Every day, we would spend many hours on their dock drinking, using every provided water craft, soaking, and listening to tunes on the boombox. I can't describe how incredible this was. I highly recommend bringing a battery powered mobile speaker system. --Every night, we would go for a night dip and float out on water looking up at the night sky. The water surface was so calm that it appeared to have skin. --From their collection, we watched 3 incredible movies in the luxurious media room. The room included 10 plush reclining leather sofa chairs. The movies watched were Drive, Hot Fuzz, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. --Countless times of just rocking in chairs on the balcony staring out at water and trees. --Poaching in the hot tub. --And only I, playing the provided Wii Michael Jackson The Experience game. What can I say, the man was incredible. On top of everything above, the owner was incredibly professional and courteous on the phone and email. She always made me feel comfortable during the entire leasing process. I can sum up all of the above. There is a heaven. Thank you G!

This was the perfect vacation for my huge family. There was so much to do at this cabin. We enjoyed the jet ski, paddle boat, paddle board, kayaks, fishing in the peaceful Fontana Lake, and riding in the tube. We brought our own boat so we didn't need to rent one from Gaylene. We caught walleye, trout, pan fish, and bass. We traveled to Asheville to visit the Biltmore, found some cool gems while gem mining at the Nantahala Gem Mine, cooked s'mores over a campfire, viewed a sky full of stars, relaxed in the hot tub, caught Rainbow Trout at the nearby trout farm. went white water rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, toured the Cherokee Indian Reservation, and explored the refreshing Soco Waterfall near Maggie Valley. What an amazing week! The owner, Gaylene, shared her incredible home with us. She included everything we needed to make this vacation a memorable one. The house was super clean and the beds are wonderfully comfortable. Everything was top of the line and luxurious. If you are deciding on a vacation spot, look no further. This is "Paradise in the North Carolina Mountains."

As a frequent traveler to destinations all over the world, I am always pleased to find a rental that actually lives up to its 'luxury' title. Fontana Passion Lake Lodge is one of the most well appointed, well maintained cabins we have ever rented in the NC mountains. It feels more like coming home than checking into a rental and it is obvious that the owners have invested a lot of time, money and energy into this property. It is understandable why they are already booked for the entire summer season! We look forward to staying with you again!

My girlfriends and I have been staying at a different cabin in the mountains for the past 7 years and I can honestly say that this was our favorite to date. We were thrilled that this cabin met all of our expectations inside and out. It had amazing amenities and no expense was spared. The tiny details and accommodations did not go unnoticed. The homeowner was very pleasant and helpful throughout the entire booking process. If you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful cabin getaway with lots to do then this is the place!!! I highly recommend staying at this cabin - you won't be disappointed!!!

Beautiful cabin! Has every amenity you could think of... plus more! They had the cabin stocked with everything you would ever need for a trip to the mountians- all you need to bring is food. We had a fantastic time taking advantage of the kayaks, mountian bikes, game room and movie theater. Our group had very diverse personalities and each one of us was very impressed by the cabin and had a fantastic time. The pictures do not quite do the cabin justice- it is even more beautiful in person and is definitely roomy enough for a large group of people. Part of the Appalacian Trail is nearby by (at Stecoah Gap) and is an easy hike (stroller accessible) with great views. If you do not rent the pontoon boat, you can also have the Fontana Marina shuttle you over to the Hazel Creek Trail where you can hike through the abandoned town of Proctor. There are also many other remote hikes to take if you cross Fontana Lake over to the Smoky Mountians. I must note that the water level in the Fall/Winter is much lower than in the photo and it is quite a hike down to the dock. Also, the fire pit is on a slope so you can really only sit on one side of it. But, this is a small price to pay for this beautiful cabin and fantastic accomodations! We hope to be back soon!

We've just returned home from a relaxing long weekend at Fontana Passion Lake Lodge, and we've never seen a more serene and beautiful location. It was a gathering of friends and family that will be long remembered. The house has every entertainment amenity imaginable, outside and in, and I believe we enjoyed every one of them! Photos just can't do justice to the beauty of both the home and Fontana Lake. We'll be back!

We had a wonderful week at this beautiful home and lake! We rented a boat for the week and couldn't believe how quiet it was on the lake. Many times we felt we were the only ones out there. I can't begin to describe the beauty of the lake and its surroundings. Gaylene made sure we had everything we needed and was wonderful to work with. We will definitely return!

to say the least! Our vacation at Fontana Passion Lake Lodge has to be the best ever in all of the years we have come to VRBO! The home is immaculate, beautifully furnished, and provided just enough privacy with its' three floors - yet warm and cozy as well for the eight of us. We never had to leave the location - everything we needed was there - from the many "toys" and ammenities to the kitchen supplies. The lake itself was magical - words can't describe the serenity and peace we experienced. Gaylene was a dream to work with - so patient with our many questions and always available pre, during, and post vacation. Who could ask for more? Not us, we will look no further as we will be coming back next year and the year after and the year after . . . . . .

This GORGEOUS home was perfect for our family over the Memorial day weekend. It is more beautiful than the pictures show, with excellent amenities. The wet bar and ice maker were great, all the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen amazing, and the lake was awesome. The owners were so courteous and very helpful from our first inquiry throughout our entire stay. Our satisfaction was their concern, and we were VERY satisfied. It is very secluded, which we enjoyed, but make sure you bring all you need for your stay. We would highly recommend this place...it is AWESOME! We hope to return next year.
