About this property

Family Adventure HQ: Great Fire Pit, Huge Porch, Near Town & Trails

Welcome to our home!

Reconnect with friends or family for a fun-filled weekend, or spend a leisurely week enjoying the hiking of beautiful Blue Ridge, Georgia, with amenities like a great firepit, 6 person hot tub, and fully equipped kitchen - just a quick walk to the lake a short drive to downtown Blue Ridge!

The road and driveway are paved to our front door. We have 4 private queen bedrooms, and a bunk room that's great for kids. We're completely kid friendly with optional bedrails, baby gates, and even a high chair available. Cooking is easy with a fully equipped kitchen and gas grill. Huge covered porches, a 6 person hot tub, corn hole, horseshoes, tetherball, and a huge stone patio with a fire pit make Hid 'n' Timber a great place for socializing outdoors. We're 7 miles from the conveniences of town, 1.5 miles from Aska hiking & biking, a quarter mile from Blue Ridge Lake, and 3 miles from the Toccoa River (3 kayaks available for loan); there's truly not a more convenient location in North GA for outdoor enthusiasts.

This is a perfect getaway for the avid or occasional outdoors-person! Situated in the heart of Georgia's Aska Adventure area, some of the country's premier hiking, mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking is just moments away from the front door. Spend a long day busy with endless activities, and come back and relax in a comfortable lodge filled with things to do after dark.

We have a fully equipped kitchen, a bar for once the kids are asleep, and board games for kids of all ages. Foosball and a MortalKombat 1UP Arcade game on the Terrace level. Wake up and enjoy your morning coffee on one of our three covered porches surrounded by the sounds of nature.

There are 3 full bathrooms, and four private bedrooms have comfortable Queen sized beds. The fifth bedroom has 4 bunk beds for the kids to share- it's away from the other bedrooms, so the adults will never hear the fun they are having! The master has it's own porch to relax in privacy, as well as a jetted tub to relax away the soreness of a long hike.

Our home is just a quarter mile to private access to Lake Blue Ridge, so bring your canoes!

This includes Stanley Gap, Green Mountain, and Flat Creek Loop. Not to mention the Rich Mountain And Cohutta Wilderness areas are just a short drive away!

Fabulous Spacious Getaway Spot
We had a group of 14, adults and children and had a wonderful time relaxing by the firepit, in the hot tub, playing with the kids in the basement, and using the well-stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds and bedrooms. Close to the lake and Aska National hiking trails and we love downtown Blue Ridge, shops and restaurants. Will return!

Wonderful house, responsive owner
This is a great house for a group of families looking to get away. The basement with the bunk room, TV set up and foosball allowed our teens to have fun time away from the adults upstairs. The kitchen was very well equipped and the owner responded immediately when we had a question about getting the temperature up on the lower level. The master bedroom is gorgeous. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent Communication
Very pleased with this property and the owner. The cabin could use a deep clean, but I understand many people are busy with the holidays and that may not be feasible. Other than that, very welcoming, child friendly cabin & thanks to Matt for answering all of my messages!

Beautiful home away from home.
it felt very warm and cozy from the moment she entered the house. We did not have neighbors right on top of us which is exactly what we wanted. If you have a large group going with you like we did you don’t feel like you’re right on top of everybody, there was plenty of room for everyone. We would certainly rent this property again.

About the host

Hosted by Matt Webster

Host profile image
Matt enjoys hiking and spending time in the mountains for just about any reason. He has three young sons who will have many adventures in the Blue Ridge area.

Professionally, he's an technical account manager and recruiter.

Why they chose this property

The Webster family has a long tradition of vacationing in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. After relocating to the South decades ago, they finally decided to purchase a home in the equally endeared town of Blue Ridge, Georgia. They have a passion for nature and enjoying it up close and personal, and Blue Ridge, and the Aska Adventure Area was the perfect location to do just that. They sincerely hope that our home allows you to enjoy it the way they do.

What makes this property unique

This home is in the perfect place for casual outdoors-people. It's paved all the way to the front steps, and within 3 miles of any kind of hiking, mountain biking or boating. Furthermore, it's the perfect place to entertain, with a huge wrap around porch, and huge stone patio with fire pit.

Although the main attractions are provided by nature in the Blue Ridge, and Aska areas, we've enjoyed many a rainy weekend playing cards and board games, or even cornhole on the large porch.
