Kilkee house description
This stunning property is situated on a 0.5 acre elevated site with unspoilt views of the Atlantic Ocean and beside the historic and fishing village of Cusheen.
It is a mere five minute drive along the N67 - Milltown Rd from the picturesque seaside town of Kilkee in County Clare.
On approaching the house, one is overwhelmed by the view. It is simply breathtaking and a must see!
Accessed via electric gates, this house is furnished to an extremely high standard with hugely impressive high ceilings which fill the house with light. The layout is striking, with it's unique and modern open plan design, which gives a lovely sense of space. The colour scheme within is tasteful and tranquil, and complements the absolute beauty of the rugged countryside which it overlooks. The sitting room has views right out onto the Atlantic Ocean.
The property has three sizeable bedrooms-
The Master Bedroom is beautifully appointed, with views out on to the Atlantic Ocean via the impressive patio doors. It has it's own private en-suite bathroom to include a bath.
Both other bedrooms are twin-bedded rooms, with the beds being double ones. The rooms are spacious and boast soft pastel colours to soothe the senses.
The house has it's own utility room with washing machine/tumble dryer facilities
There is a shed to the rear of the house which is ideal for bicycles, golf clubs, canoes or anything else that needs to be stored.
Kilkee has grown significantly in terms of being a very popular tourist destination. It is one of the most Westerly seaside resorts in Europe. It is easily accessible by road and air. 48km directly inland is Shannon Airport and other prominent towns and cities as follows - Ennis(56km), Limerick (92km), Galway (123km), Cork (193km) and Dublin (290km).
The beach in Kilkee sweeps in a grand semi-circular curve in front of the town. It is deemed as the 'safest place in Ireland' to bathe! Indeed it has been awarded with the Blue Flag on numerous occasions. Kilkee boasts a myriad of outdoor activities such as Watersports, Golf, Fishing, Surfing, Walking, Dolphin Watching but to name a few...
It has a variety of restaurants and cafes to cater for all tastes and budgets. You will delight in savouring the locally caught fish and shellfish! Kilkee is known for it's relaxed and informal night life. Traditional Irish music in the many bars is available to enjoy. You are welcome to join in! There is a local taxi service available should you wish to not take your own car.
This is the ideal base from which to discover Ireland. Nearby attractions are the majestic 700ft high Cliffs of Moher as well as the Burren - a seemingly barren almost lunar landscape with it's neolithic monuments, it's alpine flora and it's subterranean passages carved by water over the millennia. The lively fishing village of Doolin is pleasant with the option of a day trip to the Aran Islands.
Bunratty Castle & Folk park as well as King John's Castle and the Hunt Museum in Limerick are all well worth a visit.
Should you enjoy music, one could experience the Willie Clancy festival which takes place in July each year in Milltown Malbay. This is about 25km from your property.
This location is perfect for a day trip to County Kerry to explore the Dingle peninsula and/or the Ring of Kerry on the Ivereagh Peninsula. The Killimer-Tarbert car ferry from Killimer to Tarbert is ideal as it travels every half hour.
Golf enthusiasts can avail of Doonbeg which is twelve minutes from this property. This is a world class links course. Kilkee also has a golf course.

Fabulous location, magnificent property
Fabulous location, magnificent property
We had an extremely enjoyable stay at this beautiful property. It is very private and perfect for kids as it is fully secure and has some lovely grounds. The views are amazing. The property itself is of a very high level - it is luxurious and has everything one would require. It is also the ideal location and base to tour and discover Kilkee. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

What can I say about this beautiful place, this property is absolutely stunning and it offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic which I will always remember. The house is very bright, comfortable and spacious and the decor is of the highest spec. All towels, linen, crockery and cutlery etc. were well provided and there is a perfect utility room to keep on top of things during your stay. The owner of the house was very kind and welcoming to my family and I on our arrival and was very pleasant also on our departure and we very much intend on returning in the future. We have holidayed in Kilkee 3 of the last four years and this is by far the nicest property we have stayed in. There was plenty of space outside the house also for the children to play and it was also a safe environment for them. We as a family have told our friends and family how great this house was and we highly recommend it to anyone who takes time to read this review. My family and I are returning next year and I think that's praise in itself about what this house has to offer. We look forward to the warm and cosy surroundings next year.

We recently spent a week at this lovely home. The owners were very interested and helpful in our stay. They gave us information about tourist spots. The house was gorgeous - nothing could have surpassed it. Note: ask owner how to operate dryer and take your own hair dryer. The home is in a very private location with a magnificent view of the ocean and cliffs. Local neighbours were so friendly! The house is situated in a great travel location - day travelling to Cork, Shannon, Blarney Castle, Bunratty Castle, Burren, Cliffs of Mohar, Dingle Peninsula, Islands of Arin, etc...... I can't wait to go back and the owner, Margaret, was so lovely, I would go back just to visit with her!

We stayed at this wonderful property for two weeks and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Firstly, the location was superb in that it is only five minutes from the bustling seaside town of Kilkee. The view form this house is amazing with the expanse of seascape. The scenery in this part of Ireland is breathtaking. The house itself is beautiful, its open plan design with cathedral ceilings gives a great sense of space and it has every modern convenience. This house was easy to find given the signposting. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the owner Margaret. We appreciated the fact that the area itself has an abundance of activities to avail of – everything from walking, surfing, golf and so forth. The restaurants had fresh seafood and there was an array of pubs with traditional Irish music. We did some lovely day trips from this location and felt it was a good base. We would definitely recommend this property and we hope to return again in the not too distant future.. We were even lucky enough to have fantastic weather for the two weeks we were there and we had some pleasant barbecues at the house. All things considered it was a wonderful holiday.

Sheer Luxury & Charming Hostess
Sheer Luxury & Charming Hostess
Sheer Luxury & Charming Hostess. Our stay at this Luxurious Haven not only met but!! it exceeded our expectations. This place is amazing. Driving into Kilkee we couldn't believe how beautiful it was. On arrival we were in awe of the scenery – the sheer expanse of sea this house overlooks. The website description accurately reflects the charm of this accommodation. We have never stayed in such a well equipped property !! sheer luxury. Its bedding, electronics and kitchen facilities, every convenience you could possibly expect. . If you like to cook, you really can & appreciate the freedom of not having to eat out for every meal. All six of us friends enjoyed a delightful New Year’s Dinner party in the comforts of this home away from home property. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, the hospitality & hearty welcome we received from Margaret (owner) was a sheer delight. Quite frankly, we were blown away. An additional touché was the welcome package foods & Vino to start you off We went out daily to explore the beauty sport of West Clare. and still feel as if we've barely scratched all that there is to see. We visited the local hosteleries, enjoyed traditional music sessions, dined, wined and enjoyed listening to the local folklore. In addition there was a mobile Broadband USB system to email and stay in touch with friends and family All in all a very pleasant experience which we look forward to returning again in the not too distant future. West Clare is a place of great beauty and the people are gracious and charming. What a piece of luck to chance upon, what a find!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have loved to be able to stay longer, We most certainly will recommend it to friends
