Chipmunk is a log cabin in beautiful Roaring Branch Resort. It is a unique recreation rental opportunity, available year round in Arlington, Vermont. Please note: Summer rentals require a full week stay (see rates).
This comfortable cabin is tucked away in a 36 acre stand of towering white pines in the woods of southern Vermont. It is private and yet close to the towns of Arlington and Manchester. This Log Home is a great place to share with friends and family in a beautiful secluded setting. Indoors you can feel the warmth, charm, and uniqueness of Vermont. The outdoor adventures begin just steps away with the Roaring Branch river at the bottom of an embankment off the back porch of the cabin. The sound of the river can be heard inside the cabin.
The two bedrooms are cozy and make you feel right at home. There is also a loft that can sleep two more on a queen-sized pullout. After a beautiful day outdoors you can warm up in front of a fire in the stone fireplace.
Roaring Branch is a small community of log cabins scattered amongst giant white pine trees and bordered by a mountain trout stream. Situated in the beautiful Green Mountains of southwestern Vermont, Roaring Branch appeals to those who like the smell of the pines, the sound of the stream, the casual relaxed informality of a hike in the woods or a swim in the stream and a peaceful night in front of the fireplace.
Without a doubt, the main attraction of Roaring Branch is the peace and quiet and sense of security. The cabins are spaced far enough apart so that your tranquility is seldom disturbed. It is, indeed, a place where you can enjoy having nothing to do and spend hours doing it.
Yet, with this sense of isolation, within minutes lie several golf courses, the finest shops from the top designers, excellent restaurants, summer theater, children's activities, antique shops, and — best of all — Vermont.
With all of the activities in the area, Roaring Branch offers plenty of relaxation and recreation within its own 36 acres. There are two clay tennis courts that require no signup, a recreation area where children come and go as freely as adults, a library and game room for the quieter days and, always, swimming and fishing in the stream.
In summer, hiking, swimming (there are lots of swimming holes on the river), tennis (at the resort), biking (excellent mountain and road), fishing, golf (nearby), and canoeing are all great ways to get outside and explore the mountains and streams of southern Vermont. The Appalachian train is a beautiful 10 mile drive up Kelley Stand Road.
In winter, sledding, skiing (Bromley is 18 miles away, Stratton is 27 miles away), cross country skiing, and hiking will provide your daily dose of outdoor life.
We also welcome your pets.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: Elizabeth and Jonathan live in Colorado with our 3 kids. We moved here from Connecticut in 2006 for the great outdoors (skiing, hiking, biking).
Why the Owner Chose Arlington:
My wife had been going to Roaring Branch since since she was a kid. In 1991, we got married at Roaring Branch (in between the tennis courts). My wife stayed in Chipmunk for the wedding weekend. In 2005 we were looking for a vacation home in southern Vermont and Chipmunk was available for sale. We jumped on the chance to own this cabin and share the experience of Roaring Branch with our friends and family.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We love going to Roaring Branch to 'check out' for a while. It is very quiet and just a great place to enjoy the river and surrounding forest. The kids can roam free with limited supervision. It is quintessential Vermont.
