YES, our calendar is accurate...We have finally realized our dream and moved to The Habin. We are now living here permanently. We are sorry to disappoint you. You might check our other property; same location, vrbo listing #357241. Thank you.
We call it The Habin because it is a cabin in the woods with all the comforts of Home. Find peace and solitude sipping coffee or wine while sitting on the deck listening to the babbling creek below.
Master bedroom with Queen & private full bath with whirlpool tub.
Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed and bedroom 3 has a Double; they share a full bath.
Check out the map below for just a sampling of all there is to do in the area. Your biggest problem will be that you will be so relaxed you might not want to leave the property to enjoy the numerous activities.
And if you don't want to go anywhere, there are plenty of books and board games for you to enjoy...Parcheesi, Boggle, Backgammon, and jigsaw puzzles.
The opportunites for hikers of all levels are too numerous to mention. You might even venture out for an overnight on the Appalachian Trail!
There are also wonderful fishing spots and mountain bike trails just around the corner.
Be sure to bring a daypack, your binoculars, and camera, and get ready for a wonderful getaway at The Habin.
Although we purchased the property with the Old Cabin in 1998, we built the Habin in 2007.
Our entire family loves the place and we know you will, too.

This was the perfect place for us to return to after busy days. Quiet, comfortable, and everything we needed was here. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with a drink in the late afternoon surrounded by the woods and having a fire in the fireplace on the cool evenings. We even had a chance to hike the trails from the cabin, The road up to the "Habin" was a bit daunting for us "flat-landers" but turns out we didn't have any problems with it.Did you find this review helpful? We love the Habin! So quiet and peaceful and full of charm. Plus every thing you could possibly need was there and everything was very up to date and clean inside. Brought our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren and had a blast apple picking, hiking, shopping in Boone and Blowing Rock, and just making memories by the fire with parent and grandparent "stories"for the kids. We were so fortunate to catch an early Ocobter snowfall too!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Stayed July 7th, 8th and 9th, 2011 A little off the paved road, but once you find the turn, about a mile up the rocky driveway and through the woods. Road was just wide enough for about any vehicle (small truck or car). The mountain/hill side was washed out some had a gully ranging from 4 to 8 inches wide and 4 to 8 inches deep. Still enough room to drive next to and not drive of the side and down in the trees. It was just my wife and I, renting the place for 3 days. Master bed was so.so, seemed to sink in the middle some. But there is no bed like what you have at home. Place was quite, just heard the clock ticking in the living room. Went up the gravel road some more for a hike in the woods on the trails. About an hour later, made it to the top at the Christmas tree farm. Some nice views. Briefly seen a dear, just a tan spot running off in the woods, butterflies, one type of small gray bird and a family of wild turkeys. Bring bug spray, you are fresh meat to the bugs out in the woods. A little boring with no TV, so bring DVD's or a computer to use the wireless Internet or just sit there and listen to the quite.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This cabin is the ultimate getaway! Pristine, quiet, comfortable, and a wonderful price. We had a great time hiking, exploring the nearby towns, and cooking delicious meals while listening to relaxing music and enjoying a warming fire in the fabulous fireplace. We were there in October and the cabin was warm ans cozy. A perfect place for a retreat with good friends or with your family!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Beautiful, clean, and comfy. I stayed here for some rest and relaxation last fall. I could have lived in this house, it was very comfy, homey and had everything we needed. The absolute quiet set the tone for peaceful evenings in front of the fire. If you love woods and just want to have that great feeling of being deep in the woods, but still be sleeping in a big, soft bed, you will love this delightful cabin.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

very comfortable, quiet, and secluded- good birdlife and deck from which to watch them. spring fed stream in the back with numerous amphibians to spot if you are lucky. kitchen is equipped for cooking- from simple to somewhat elaborate. a good hike can be had right out the front door up to an old cemetery on the top of the mountain with lovely views. multiple other outdoor and indoor activities available within 0.5 hour drive. we didn't want to leave!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This property was a most enjoyable home base environment to experience the NC mountains and all the area has to offer. The peace and solitude this property offers is truly grand. We hiked for hours and never saw another person yet we were able to enjoy wonderful area restaurants and local attractions with little travel effort. The home is very well equipped and very comfortable. I'd plan to go back and hopefully this home will be available for another great experience. Thank you.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I have spent several lovely weekends at the cabin and would love to go back. The scenery is so beautiful and tranquil. The cabin is a warm, comfortable place for a group of friends or family to spend time together. Town is close enough for fun day adventures and then back home again to relax.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: We love to play but somehow end up working way too much. So, The Habin is a treasure where we get back to nature and feed our souls. It is a very special place that makes our hearts sing. We can simply sit and watch the hummingbirds come to the feeder, or the wild turkeys stroll through the yard as well as the occasional buck. We like to say 'don't confuse your address with where you live'; our address is at the beach but we live in the mountains!
Why the Owner Chose Linville:
This location is perfect...it's out of the path of progress tucked up at 4200' so well out of summer's humidity and full of changing leaves in the fall, but so close to everything that when you come down off the mountain you have everything you could want nearby.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Check out our other listing on vrbo #357241. You cannot see it from The Habin, but you can walk to it, making it a great compound for a family reunion.
