  Perfect for us! Everything was easy and convenient - just what you want on a holiday. Easy to hop on the train at the airport for a quick ride to Centraal Station, and then an easy walk to the apartment. Located in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to walk to most attractions in the city. The Jordaan neighborhood is a great walking area with many local coffee shops and restaurants, and even a great market on Saturdays. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially liked the natural light from all of the windows. The apartment is exactly as it appears in all of the photographs. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

  My entire experience with the property was Smooth. Keep it in mind that I am a 'last minute' to anywhere I travel, so for anything to go nice and easy is a big plus. From Central station, it's 5 minutes and like 2-3 turns. From hussle and bussel to a quiet street with hardly any cars and a few people, in less than 30m. Susan, the woman in charge of all, greeted me at the door of a pleasant three story. Up one flight of a nice wooden spiral staircase to a nice oak door w/elephant head knocker. It is, as I am still there, all and more than the descriptions and picures tell here. Everything was explained clearly and all offer of assistance in any situation was offered. An interesting American woman. I was not talking to a robot clerk at a hotel and I appreciated that. Saw her twice as nothing went wrong. The neighborhood is real interesting as anywhere that close to Central is. No hints, come and find something yourself. From someone who has been here before, this is a very nice spot.

  This apartment is a real find, highly recommended. Our "meet and greet" with Susan all went to plan, she had checked our flight schedule and knew we would be a bit late. She spent some time with us showing us around the apartment, left a map of Amsterdam with us and showed us where everthing was, shops, ATM, restaurants, how to use the trams, advice on buying a museum card etc. This really helped us to settle in quickly and enjoy our holiday. The apartment is lovely as as described in the description. It is in a very quiet street, but very close to the busy tourist sites. I felt that we had hit the jackpot as far as location went. It is very well appointed, with all the little extras that make a stay easy and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here if we come back to Amsterdam.

  We stayed 8 nights in May and just loved everything about the apartment. It was very roomy, the bed was super comfortable, the kitchen was large and all new appliances, and it was nice having the shower room separate from the toilet room. Location was great -- in a lovely section of old houses between 2 canals and near the train station and a tram stop as well as bicycle rental. Furnished with some antiques and generally very attractive with large windows. Nice views of a tree and climbing flowering vine out the window. I even liked to look out at night with the inside lights off because the street was so pretty bathed in soft light from the lamp posts. Susan very kindly let us borrow a computer for a day and also supplied us with coffee, cookies and granola. She also helped us with our planning and even looking for strawberry seeds! We were extremely pleased with City Calm -- a really good value and definitely a home away from home.
