The Hideaway is a great escape which is very close to breathtaking surroundings. If you are looking for simple tranquility and not luxury and hustle-bustle, this place is for you. We also took advantage of the Navitat zip line there at a 20% discount from Barbara and Stu's recommendation. It was a perfect way to take in the beauty of the surroundings.

this cozy little apartment was the perfect place for a quick stay in wrightwood for our little family of 3 + our dog! it had everything one could need with a nice yard for playtime or to relax in the hammock. we will definitely visit when snow falls again next winter. and the location is terrific for such an easy commute to Mountain High for a day of skiing! thank you for being true to your description and photos. a big thumbs up from us!

This cabin is so cute, clean, bright, and cozy! It was perfect for a weekend getaway with my boyfriend. At this time of year, sitting outside on the porch and swinging in the hammock was pure bliss. We loved the sleeping loft and the charming decor. We'll definitely be back! Thank you!

The cabin is truly adorable. The decor has a modern, asian vibe and is perfectly designed for the small but just right space. The owners have put a lot of effort in to making people feel comfortable and right at home. It's was nice to relax outside in the hammocks. The yard was perfect for the kids to play. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

My husband and two kids and I spent only one night at the Hideway but it was everything we expected. The pictures are very accurate and the cabin was well maintained and spotless when we arrived. We decided to make a last minute trip on a Friday and started looking for places on Thursday. The owner immediately responded to my request and subsequent questions and we got it booked very quickly. The kids enjoyed the massive DVD selection. There is a helpful binder with manuals/instructions for all the appliances. Decor is super cute with lots of great personal touches. Plenty of linens, towels, etc. Thank you Barbara and Stuart for the discounted lift tickets and for going out of your way to meet us us early Friday morning to make sure we could use the tickets as soon as we arrived. Talk about going above and beyond and great customer service. Our security deposit was refunded before we even arrived back home Saturday night. Wow! We highly recommend your cabin and had a great stay. Thank you for everything.

Thank you so much Barbara and Stuart for allowing us to stay at your amazing little cabin. It was so nice to come home after a day of snow play to a warm cozy place. Barbara was so nice to work with us on the dates we were staying and responded quick to any email i sent. Very impressive. The cabin decor was so cute I didn't want to leave. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine on the deck and watched the sun go down. Truly lovely. We will be coming back with the rest of the family this time. Thank you again. I would strongly suggest this cabin.

Feb. 2: Hi Ms. Barbara and Mr. Stewart. It is my second day here and I love the bed. The cabin is sooooo cute! Later on my friend and my parents and I are going to go on the hammock then up to the snow. Feb. 3: Hi again. We went on the hammock and the snow mountain! Sledding and the tubing place. Feb. 4: I am sooo sad but happy we got to see and use everything which was amazing. The down part is we have to leave this amazing journey. I think I will come back!!

Came to Wrightwood for snowboarding and this place was just what we were looking forward to coming back to after a long day. Stayed for two nights and was very happy with what this place had to offer. Nice kitchen area to cook up breakfast/lunch/dinner, clean bathroom with towels, living room area was great to sit down, relax, stay warm and watch a movie. Everything was clean and cozy. Will spread the word about this place, and definitely be back! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for nice place to stay in Wrightwood! Thank you Barbara and Stuart!

Firstly I must comment about how amazing this cabin is. We just love it. From the start the communication has been excellent and I just can't fault anything at all. It was great meeting you in person and you both seem like genuine and hardworking people. Our stay has been great and just perfect for me, skiing hills and shops. We can't thank you enough for our time here as this holiday is special so thank you again for helping us enjoy a memorable holiday. Also another BIG THANK YOU for the ski pants and jacket you let me use. Very much appreciated. A few more stops to go before we head back to Australia. Thank you!

This was our first time to the snow. We were in for a treat, there was even snow in our backyard! The snow was super fluffy. Enjoying the scenery, we were truly blessed to have stayed at the cabin. Peaceful, clean and tidy hideaway. Convenient and close to the slopes, but perfect to retreat to a quiet and cozy cabin at the end of the day. The queen bed in the loft was very comfortable and the canopy added an artistic touch. The kitchenette provides basic cooking options....hot plate, oven and fridge. Little tricky for cooking full meals. Convenient to have a washer and dryer in the garage so wet clothes can be washed and dried. Also a plus to be able to bring your dog. Looks like jacuzzi is in the works and this would be a great addition. Would stay again.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It truly is a cozy cabin!

It was clear from the moment my boyfriend and I arrived that the owners put a lot of care and attention into this property. The place was small but is perfect for a couple, or a family/group of friends of about 4-5 people. There were so many little extra touches, for example the kitchen is EXTREMELY well stocked with everything from dishes to silverware to small appliances etc. Even chopsticks! haha We had brought a bottle of champagne and at one point I thought, ugh I should have brought some glass wine flutes. Lo and behold there were some on the shelf! One night we even went to the local supermarket and bought a frozen apple crumble which sure enough cooked up in about 25 minutes rather than the 50 minutes that it said on the box! As stated there was also a nice little selection of DVD's and board games in the garage. The bathroom had towels, hair dryer, curling iron and some little packets of sample sized toiletries. Not sure if all these items were provided by the owners, you almost get the feeling that guests leave things that may be handy for the next person, sort of like leaving your mark on the place in a good way :) The location was convenient also, maybe 5 minutes drive from the heart of the VERY cute little "town" where all the restaurants and shops are (also where Navitat headquarters is, which was great as we were there for the totally awesome ziplining tour!) The only critiques I have are 1. The sauna is mentioned a lot in the advertisement but is situated to where I can't imagine having actually used it. It's sort of awkwardly placed at the back of the garage next to other garage type miscellaneous items 2. If anyone is in the garage (which happened during my visit because there was construction going on for the deck of the cabin next door) and you happen to be in the bedroom (which we were, although about to wake up anyway so it turned out okay) you can hear EV.ER.Y.THING going on in there since it's a shared wall. 3. This one is just a personal preference and not a reflection on the cabin itself but may give others a better idea of how it is to stay here...the property is basically on a suburban residential street lined with other homes (albeit very nice homes and a very quiet street) For some reason though, I had it in my head that it would be in a more secluded area. All in all it was a great visit and I'm very glad we stayed there! p.s. the security/cleaning deposit was credited back to my card in record time!

We had a wonderful little escape in nature with our family of four! Our boys (ages 6 and 22 mos) loved the backyard. The cabin was just right for our small family and had most everything we needed. The boys loved the Legos and Calico Critter toys -- perfect. During the day we went for walks, visited a nearby lake, also a nearby park in town. We love the town. We loved the cabin decor and amenities. The only thing we needed were measuring cups and spoons [owners note: these are now provided], and we kept getting an error reading on the hot plate [owners' note: instructions now posted]. These were minor inconveniences compared to everything else this little gem offered. We will definitely be back! I also loved having dinner on the patio and sipping wine under the stars at night! Love the rustic feel of the backyard, especially for the boys.

We came up for 2 days, but just couldn't stand the thought of leaving -- so we stayed another day. The Hideaway is exactly what we wanted, the perfect size. We had coffee & listened to old records on the deck of "Joe Mudds" in town, had a picnic at Grassy Hollow, hiked at Silverwood Lake, road the bikes to Jensens for groceries, BBQ dinners & danced on the deck. The moon was out, the stars were bright. The blue jays love the backyard. Wrightwood has a lot of memories for us. We will be coming back and wouldn't ever think of staying anyplace except at the Hideaway. THANK YOU.

My wife and I came up for 2 nights in August to celebrate 17 years. It was exactly what we wanted. Very cute decor, complete with everything we needed. Property was clean. It was a very quiet neighborhood nestled in the backdrop of beautiful mountain environment. The owner was helpful with restaurant suggestions for our stay. Grizzly Cafe and Blue Ridge Inn both had good food and nice atmosphere. The owners were also able to accommodate a late check out because nobody was coming the following day. They also offered an early check in but we couldn't take advantage of it. My wife used one of the bikes to ride while I ran up to the visitor center and back and it worked great. After a long run/bike the two person sauna felt wonderful!! We did the Navitiat Canopy Tour and it was so much fun. Nobody was in the front house so we had the entire property to ourselves which was really nice. We did not use the kitchenette for cooking. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a small, simple, cute, romantic getaway. I booked this without my wife seeing it as a surprise and she really liked it too. We had a great time and hope to be back.

We loved the Hideaway for our extended ohana (family). With the main house and the Hideaway, we had the perfect combination for our stay. The Hideaway was perfect for a couple with a child. We used the bikes and rafts and loved to wake up in the morning and enjoy the lanai. The mountain backdrop was wonderful.

This cabin was beautiful and worked out great for my bride to dress for her big day. The listing agent and owner were a joy to deal with, and I can't wait to spend more time in Wrightwood. We also used the big house on the property which was just as nice as the cabin. Our wedding was acouple of miles away in a campground which made this cabin the perfect place to prepare. Cozy, clean and well equipped cabin! We stayed for 3 nights and will rent again when in the area. The owners responded immediately when we needed them (we forgot to bring the code to open the lock-box that stored the keys to the cabin). Love the interior decor! Be sure to have pizza from Mile High...so tasty and they delivered for only 50cents!

Our stay here was absolutely delightful! It was a very romantic experience. It was a beautifully warm weekend and we enjoyed driving slowly around town whenever we decided to leave the Hideaway. The evenings were gorgeous as they cooled off and the stars came out. This was the best way to spend time with the love of my life.

Thank you so much for sharing your adorable Hideaway cabin. It was perfect for me, my husband, and our two dogs. We were celebrating our 4-year anniversary and this was a great short getaway.

Thank you both for sharing The Hideaway cabin with us and our pups. We love it! You have done such a great job with the place... so cozy. Nice not having to drive back and forth from L.A.
