Satilla Cottage was custom built by the Baker Family in 2001 on a beautiful site only 150 steps from St. Simons Island's favorite beach. It's one of the larger homes in Coast Cottages at St. Simons, coastal Georgia's favorite vacation neighborhood.
Satilla Cottage has four bedrooms, 3.5 baths and comfortably sleeps 10. The master suite takes up the entire third floor, and each bedroom has it's own TV. The living, dining and kitchen areas flow together so family members can easily interact, whether they're cooking, eating or watching a game on the flat screen TV.
You'll love the beautiful furnishings in each room, the high ceilings, plantation shutters, and rich pine flooring. There's plenty of outdoor space too with five breezy porches throughout the cottage, several with gorgeous ocean views!
Satilla guests enjoy full privileges at Coast Cottages' fabulous beach front pools and pavilion. The neighborhood sits front and center on St. Simons Island's magnificent Coast Guard beach, the widest stretch of sand on the island. This is a place where you can walk the beach at high tide, low tide, any tide! (Many vacation rentals along the St. Simons' beach cannot make that claim.)

We loved our stay at the Satilla Cottage. The property was neat and very clean. The location couldn't be better. The pools and the beach were great. Our group was composed of my husband and I, our grown children and their spouses, and our 8yr old and 11 yr old grandsons. There was something for everyone. We will definitely return to the cottages on Coast Cottages a future visit. I highly recommend the Coast Cottages. Really enjoyed eating at Iguanas in the village. Enjoyed church services at the St Simon's Community Church.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Satilla Cottage. We met family from Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee and Maryland and enjoyed every minute. The accommodations and cottage arrangement were exceptional and the kitchen well equipped to make meal preparation easy and enjoyable. Easy access to the beach and pool. Reservation arrangements were simple and easy. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage with us. 6 adults, 3 under 3...................great time. Everything was clean, and well mainteained. We loved the condo and the easy access to the pool and ocean. An Absolute 10Owner response: We work hard to make Satilla Cottage clean as a whistle ... we even clean the bbq grill between every guest! Slight correction ... this is a full size, single family home rather than a condo.

Satilla Cottage was super--the pictures do not do it justice. The comfortable nautical decor was lovely and cozy--yet there was abundant room for our party of three couples and three small children. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the grill was great. Bedding was comfortable and the owners were kind enough to provide plenty of beach and bath towels for our entire stay. You can not beat the quiet, charming location of the cottage--we were very close to the beach and the heated pool was a super bonus! Coast Cottages are convenient to everything on St. Simons--just a short trip our favorite restaurants in Redfern Village and to the pier/lighthouse. Thanks to Patrick for making our check in and check out effortless, and thank you to the owners for sharing with us such a special place! We can not wait to come back again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is a great house in a great location. My wife paticularly like the decorating and the oriental carpets on the hardwood floors. Lots of outstanding restaurants close by.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Satilla Cottage is a fine place to enjoy our family reunion. It's well appointed, and there's plenty of room in the main living area for entertaining our family of 8 as well as space for privacy. Very comfortable and nicely decorated. Spacious rooms and decks on all 3 floors. Kitchen is fully equipped. Very close to the beach with some ocean views, especially 3rd floor. Great location on the island - on the best beach, and walking distance to Crab Trap and Crab Daddy's restaurants. Rental rates very competitive.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Wonderful experience! First time in St. Simons. This house made us feel at home! Exactly as described and more. Great locale, great house, great beach!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Everyone loves Satilla Cottage. And we're located on the very best part of the beach on St. Simons Island in the award winning Coast Cottages, the island's favorite vacation neighborhood. Here's a tip for first time visitors: stay north of Arnold Road, because south of there the beach disappears at mid to high tide. North of Arnold Road (where Satilla is located) you can walk the beach at high tide, low tide, any tide! And walking the sandbars at mid to low tide is a magnificent experience!

About the owner: We built Satilla Cottage in 2001, and have enjoyed it every year since, all year round.
Why the Owner Chose Coast Cottages:
In the summer, our wide beach attracts a great beach scene which is fun to join. Or in January we can enjoy the solitude of a long beach walk. Great restaurants and grills are abundant here on the Island, and are something we really like about St. Simons. The nice folks living over on Sea Island help provide a good customer base to support these for us.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
One of our favorite things to do here is play golf, and there are plenty of courses around. You can expect good golf weather most any month of the year, and especially spring, summer, and fall. There's also lots of boutique shopping for the ladies, if they get the urge. After 10 years having our beach house, we stiill look forward to the trip down every time!
