Fantastic Island Getaway Destination
Fantastic Island Getaway Destination
What a delightful place for a vacation. There is an air of luxury and sublime relaxation about the villa. The consummate location; the beach is within easy walking distance and all the activities we were looking for were accessed by a short ride in the golf cart (which was provided by the owner). The villa and the resort really lived up to the billing and we could not have been happier with both. The villa itself is gorgeous. It has a marvelous island decor and the wooden swing door paneled walls open up the master bedroom and the living room to the pool, providing a refreshing breeze and open air feel during the day. The saltwater pool and the jacuzzi almost made us not want to leave the house all week. We were lucky enough to be there during avocado season and avocado tree in the front yard provided a steady stream of delicious snacks! It was also very helpful to have free wifi and satellite TV with a full compliment of english channels at the villa. We found no shortage of fun and relaxing things to do on the resort. We played two of the three Pete Dye golf courses and they were immaculate. We found that there is a diverse selection of excellent restaurants within Casa de Campo. We had a particularly terrific dinner at La Casita in La Marina. I loved Altos de Chavon which is a beautiful rustic market on the resort; it offered breathtaking views (as it's perched high above a river valley), cozy eateries, and charming shops selling local art, furniture, and jewelry. On our last night we took a short drive into La Romana and had a fantastic dinner at a quaint local restaurant called Shish Kabob. I should also mention Anna and Johnny who are the staff at the house. Anna could not have been any kinder and in addition to the housekeeping and laundry, she cooked us a chicken, rice, and beans dinner that was incredible. Johnny kept the pool clean, picked us fresh avocado, and kept the gas tank full on the golf cart. Both of them were so very friendly and left us with nothing to complain about. Overall it was just a fantastic experience. A warm thank you to Doug and Christine for making our vacation so hassle free. As strongly as I can, I recommend this villa.

Look No Further!
This villa truly is luxurious and even more beautiful than the pictures can show. My husband and our two college age children spent July 4 weekend here and only wished we could have stayed much longer. The pool setting is very "Hollywood" with many seating areas for sunning, reading, and dining. The separate master suite gives ultimate privacy, and the orchids in the outdoor shower off the marble bath were gorgeous. Ana the housekeeper is a gem-- good English, eager to shop, cook, and help in any way. And her fried chicken is to die for! Johnny the gardener keeps the pool and grounds lovely and helped with gas for the golf cart when we were low. The sparkling beach is only a five minute walk, and the menu and service at the Le Cirque associated restaurant is excellent for lunch or dinner. Massimo the manager there was a perfect host. We took advantage of the golf (great pro), horseback riding, scuba diving, and skeet shooting at the resort. La Romana airport is only 15 minutes away so try to fly in there if possible. I came home raving about the trip to our friends and very much hope to return soon.

los lagos 106 casa de campo
my family greatly enjoyed our time at los lagos 106 in casa de campo. the staff was wonderful, as we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast every morning, and clean clothes each afternoon (courtesy of Anna). the home was very spacious, and wonderfully appointed. we spent the afternoons lounging in the hot tub and pool and around the lovely grounds. the owners communication before, during and after our stay was very thorough and informative. the outdoor shower was very neat, and we enjoyed playing pool, and the included free wifi. thank you to Doug for a wonderful experience.

Spring break in the DR
Spring break in the DR
Beautiful and restful property in a beautiful location. Friendly and attentive staff. Anna will do your grocery shopping for you and will prepare dinner upon request. Breakfast was waiting for us each morning. The villa comes equipped with golf cart, but you will probably want to rent a car to travel off the compound (it's several thousand acres). The owner can arrange a rental car, which is delivered and picked up at the villa, hassel-free. Lots of golf options for those so inclined and there are several quality restaurants on the resort. The beach is a short walk and is usually deserted in the morning, perfect for a stroll or a swim. The polo matches are fun as well. The one thing we wish we had known ahead of time was to bring the checkbook, since the boat charter company didn't take credit cards. You'll want to bring some mosquito spray as well. All in all a very relaxing vacation.

My husband and I have had the privilege of traveling extensively for both work and vacation purposes. We have stayed in many lovely places and have rented through VRBO over ten times--always great experiences. This time was no exception. As others have stated, the owner was very responsive, helpful and lovely to deal with. We had another couple join us, and the home could not have worked better for us. It is done in high quality, but with a comfortable and relaxed ambiance. It exudes tropicality, with every window presenting a view of lush, manicured foliages and flowers. We love how the doors to the sitting room and master suite open fully so that inside and out are one. The pool area has many lovely sitting areas with new looking, high end furniture. We used the pool constantly...except when we were at the lovely beach just a short bit away. Yes, there were mosquitos (although no more than at home). But the bedrooms are quite well screened and air conditioned. We just kept the bug spray close at hand. Might have been some of the rain we had that brought them out. We agree with all others that Ana and Johnny (the gardener) helped make our stay so special. Both are very warm and caring. For a small extra charge, Ana will make a traditional dinner for you. Well, well worth it!! They spoiled us, for sure. But we also forged genuine frienships with them--just one of the many reasons we look forward to returning!

I would like to start off by saying a very big thank you to Doug and Christine for sharing your home with our family! The owners we very helpful and pleasant in every interaction we had with them. Anna is an absolute gem! Anna cooked us several wonderful meals and we never had a stitch of dirty laundry in our rooms she is very discreet kind and helpful we absolutely enjoyed her. The pool was great and used on a daily basis by our two young children. Minitas beach is very close to the villa as well as the marina which was nice. My only hiccup so to speak was with the owners office manager she is not very personable or helpful ( Dania her assistant was helpful and in hindsight I would have delt with her rather than the office manager. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend this property to other people.

Ana was wonderful, beach very close and pool very nice
We had a wonderful time. Ana was great , very helpful and lovely. The beach was very close and that was huge for us. Also the pool was clean and very nice. Loved the outdoor shower. Our only complaint would be the need for screens in the main areas. We were eaten alive by Mosquitos. They were exceptionally bad at the house. Other than that we enjoyed our stay, the price was great and loved it. We go to DR every other year to visit husbands family, this is the first we have rented through an owner and I really liked it. It was easy to check in and out. The bedrooms were nice and roomy. Beautiful home. Thank you.

Perfect Spring Break!
Perfect Spring Break!
From the moment we booked, I knew we were in for a treat. The owners were personally involved every step of the way, from helping us with transportation needs, recommending restaurants and things to do, and even some special favors during our stay that were way above and beyond the call of duty. The villa is centrally located within walking distance of Minitas Beach, La Marina, golf, and the hotel central area. Although the villa is equipped with a four-passenger golf cart, at the owner's suggestion we rented a car which came in handy for lugging our golf clubs around, and traveling to places a bit farther away, such as the shooting center and the polo fields. The villa mixes modern amenities, including a commercial-grade kitchen and unique outdoor shower, blend easily with Dominican art throughout the living areas. The villa's housekeeper/chef was very friendly and helpful, from preparing breakfast and lunch each day, to keeping up with laundry, and even preparing a four-course Dominican dinner. Another assistant maintained the outdoor areas on a daily basis, and helped with several errands that made our stay even more enjoyable. Although all activities at Casa de Campo are world-class, the resort is a golf lover's paradise. Three fabulous Pete Dye courses are available: Teeth of the Dog, regarded as the best course in the Caribbean; The Links; and Dye Fore, perched on the heights overlooking the Chavon River (Altos de Chavon). Tee times were available as requested, and lower fees apply after 2pm on The Links and Dye Fore courses. Restaurant choices range from pizza to fine dining. Our favorite is La Casita, located on the pier in La Marina, which offers a wide selection of entrees in a beautiful outdoor (but covered) setting. We also like Peperoni in the main square of La Marina, and the Beach Club by Le Cirque located at Minitas Beach. La Caña at the main hotel was also great, in a more sophisticated setting. All in all, a perfect Spring Break to celebrate the upcoming college graduation of our youngest son!

This is an amazing property! Absolutely immaculate and even more stunning than the website photos; beautiful decor; outside garden and pool were idyllic! We were completely spoiled by the staff. Our maid cooked dinner one night for us, and it was heavenly. We all had a wonderful time visiting the hotel pool, beach and marina with the golf cart. Recommended: the Chavon River kayak trip; Catalina cataraman cruise; and Saona excursion (Seavis). Loved the Beach Club, La Cana, Altos De Chavon, Chinois, Limoncello, and La Casita in La Romana. The grocery store at the Marina is well-stocked and very convenient (make sure to locate the sneaky cubby space under the seats on the golf cart!) The outside shower and orchid garden were other-wordly in a spectacular way. The children loved the pool table. We will not hesitate to recommend this property to our family and friends. A vacation we will not forget!

Our family of six experienced a marvelous vacation at this villa within Casa de Campo. The villa exceeded our expectations. It is very very accurately described. It is larger than I anticipated. It has an open space feeling with open doors from the living quarters and separate master suite centering upon the pool/jacuzzi and vibrant colorful landscaping. it has very comfortable furnishings that are "just right" I.e. not formal but high class casual. The bedrooms are larger than expected each with it's own bathroom. The master bedroom is truly a very large suite with an absolutely fantastic outdoor shower with orchids and flowers smiling at you each morning. It was a highlight for me to start each day with a shower in such a magical ambiance. Anna and Johnny are wonderful, warm and caring staff. Both speak English. Anna prepares breakfast each morning beginning with fresh juices and fruits and then customizes to your request. She also prepares lunch as you prefer. Johnny cares for the pool/grounds and will go with you to purchase fresh fish and market needs. The villa has a golf cart that seats four which is both fun and efficient to take advantage of the many offerings of Casa de Campo. We enjoyed watching our first polo game. Our kids enjoyed alternating between the lovely private beach within 5-7 minute walk from the villa with going to the hotel's pools and fitness center. Los Lago neighborhood even has a lap pool three houses from the villa. We enjoined dinning alfresco at the Beach Club overlooking the beautiful Carribean beach and water and also dinning alfresco at the Marina overlooking the spectacular yachts. One can be totally content living within the 7000 acre Casa de Campo resort; but my family also enjoyed going to nearby Bayahibe for paddle boarding, scuba diving, and a half day of chartered deep sea fishing as well as experiencing the local flavor of a Dominican beach town. The villa owners, Doug & Chris, are wonderful to work with and are prompt in their communications. We enjoyed our annual family holiday gathering so much that we place this experience amongst our favorite holidays over the years. We look forward to returning.

About: Our son and our grandson enjoying a romp in the pool Christmas 2012 in Casa. Midwesterners' by birth, now living in the East (daughter just moved from Chicago to NY for Grad school); searched for years to find the perfect place and succeeded. Reliably great weather (even at Christmas), great golf, tennis, boating, trap-shooting,dining etc. and best of all wonderfully nice people. Happy and always helpful, we've found Dominicans' to be the nicest people in the entire Caribbean. I continue to run my own business and find it quite easy to operate from the D.R. with phone and Free Wireless Internet access Through out the Villa. JFK to SDQ is 3+hours and the drive from SDQ to the Villa is about what it takes us to get to JFK from the North Shore of Long Island. Now only :45 minutes from Punta Cana airport on the new Coral Highway Both of our children long out of school (save our daughter) now regularly bring other couples down every year when we're not all vacationing together or we aren't filled up with our friends. The setting and the staff as well as the amenities make LL 106 perfect for relaxed entertaining and just plain good fun hanging out together. The place is 'not to be missed'
Why La Romana:
As noted above, perfect and reliable weather, great golf and other facilities in the resort (including, tennis, scuba, Casa for Kids, horseback riding and much more). Quite easy to reach from New York & Chicago, incredibly nice Dominican people and my family loved it at first sight. We have been coming to Casa and this Villa for 16 years every Christmas holiday as well as other times of the year. Our kids have grown up here and made numerous friends (as have we -- interestingly more non-American's than Americans). The kids and grand child all view this place as home, more than our regular residence in NY
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
I start each day at 7:00 with a short walk to the beach for a swim, typically no one else is there and the water is flat with an off-shore breeze. A drop in the Jacuzzi with coffee follows and the day is then 'planned' with the family. The big question is do we stay in or go out for dinner -- both equally good choices. Los Lagos 106's central location makes access to golf, the marina, the beach or the hotel very easy and quick -- half the resort is west of 106 and half is east AND we are one house off the road that runs parallel to the shore & Teeth of the Dog. In fact LL 106 is about a 6 iron from the middle of the 4th fairway of the Teeth. Just a 5 minute drive to fine grocery, wine and spirits stores. Outstanding up-scale shopping at the Marina. The town of La Romana is only a few miles away. It's very safe, easy to access and the restaurants are very good and affordable.
