Home has been totally renovated with new everything. Tiled floors throughout, large granite countertop, stainless steal appliances, decorative lighting, modern bathrooms, and a large wrap around balcony with comfortable patio furniture surrounded by romantic sheer curtains giving you a true resort feel. The home is open, bright, and warm. Sectional sofa is comfortable for watching Netflix movies on a high definition 52 inch flat screen T.V. with surround sound. Kitchen area has a desk area where you can connect your computer to wireless internet for those days where you just got to get some work done. The master bedroom has a king size bed (firm memory foam mattress) with small private bathroom. The second bedroom has two comfortable bunk-beds. Bottom bunks are large enough for adults. Bedroom has T.V. with VHS VCR. The home is on a deep canal ocean side (no issue for large sail boats), 75 foot private concrete dock with electricity and water. I like to relax on my hammock under the coconut palms trees while the men clean their catch of the day on our two fish cleaning tables. The neighbors are wonderful and the home is walking distance to everything you can need (Deli, Liquor Store, Movie Theatre, Kmart, Winn Dixie, Publix, Walgreens, Home Depot, and park! Perfect for teens that can't drive but like their independence walking or riding bike by themselves to the park, movies, or shops. Family reunion? Inquire about nearby home which is also available for rental.
Although Marathon is located about midway on the keys chain, it has just about anything you would need during your stay, including Marathon Airport (charter flights from Miami) and Hospital in case you need medical attention during your stay. Key West is just a 45 minutes away by car. Charter fishing service is also available from your dock. One of the best surprises when I bought this home was Sombrero Beach. This beach is only 5 minutes away by car and maybe 15 minute bike ride. It has everything you could ask for in a beach. White sand, coconut palms, private clean bathrooms, two volleyball courts, children play area with grass, and the beautiful view of the ocean. My fifteen year old loves The Marathon Community Park, which has its own X-Tream Skateboard Park . This park has four tennis courts, a tennis wall, a combination hockey/basketball court (3 courts), two little league fields, and two soccer fields. There is also, two shuffleboard courts, two bocce ball courts, a batting cage, concession stand, amphitheater, picnic areas, and restrooms. If you want to take a dip in a pool just go to Sunset Grill and Raw Bar where they have one of the largest pool in the keys overlooking the ocean at the seven mile bridge. Watch the sunset from here while at the bar listening to Margaritaville. Enjoy some of the best fishing and diving available in the world. Sombrero Reef is 4.5 miles away from your dock. It offers a spectacular reef and is just minutes away by boat ride. The Seven Mile Bridge is probably the premiere location for the greatest game fish in Florida waters, the Tarpon. From our dock our guest can do a short run on the kayak to Sombrero Dockside Restaurant! And if you are adventurous go further to sister creek and do some fishing in the mangroves or kayak directly to Sombrero Beach! Make sure you leave some energy to paddle back :)

Why the Owner Chose Marathon
THe Florida Keys is truly a place to enjoy the great outdoors. It all starts with the drive from Miami (2 hrs) . When you start getting closer to Marathon, the Ocean water begans turning clear turquoise. It is a beautiful site to see. I fell in love with the Keys in my early teens. The Unique Benefits of this House
My Place is modern and at the same time comfortable. It has an open atmosphere with two large sliding glass doors overlooking the large furnished balcony. The balcony overlooks the canal and coconut palm trees. The sheer white curtains in the balcony give you a true resort feel. People love them.

My family (of 4) loved this house - I adored chillin' on the back porch with those white sheers, my college boys loved ping pong and the hammock and snorkeling in the canal, husband loved fishing anywhere he could from the canal to the bridges. We ate in, we ate out, we walked the bridge to Pidgeon Key, we drove up and down Hwy 1 loving the color of the water. Wish my bathrooms at home look like those bathrooms in this home. Mariella is a delightful person - you can tell she wants you to enjoy her house. Thanks for sharing !!

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful home we fell in love! Everything was perfect. The attention to every detail makes you feel like you are at a five star resort! When the owner said "you really don't have to bring anything, the home has everything" they weren't kidding. We loved spending time on the porch which is very private for the neighborhood and furnished very comfortably. One of the most important things for any stay is a comfortable bed and a good night's rest. The King size Memory Foam bed in the Master bedroom felt like Heaven! Right down to the softest sheets ever! The location of this home is very convenient to shopping, great dining and many of the Key's attractions. We spent time at Sombrero Beach which is very close, beautiful and has some of the best sunsets on the island. Another must is going to the Key's fisheries for Stone Crabs. They have the best prices on seafood weather you are eating in, or taking out fresh from the market. If you like Conch, we found the best Conch is right around the corner at The Cracked Conch Cafe. We truely love this home and you will too. We plan on a return visit in the coming months, and wouldn't thing of staying anywhere else! Thank you for a wounderful vacation home!

My family and I came back from Marathon last week and besides the fact that Marathon is conveniently located in the keys, Mariella and Peter's home was perfect for our vacation. The home was extremely clean, organized and comfortable. Everything we could have possibly needed was there, in the home. Mariella was so kind and easy to work with, we felt as if we had known her for years. My kids enjoyed the ping pong table, the kayak and just chilling out in the house. Sombrero beach and Bahia Honda are beautiful beaches that are close to the house and it was very easy to park our boat in the back of the home. The house itself is beautiful and greatly decorated. The kitchen was wonderful for the chef in our family and had everything we needed. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!!!!!

We were in Marathon last week and stayed at Mariellas home. It was completely upgraded, and were not disappointed. I can not say anything bad about this rental. Great communication from owner through the entire rental process. The property was comfortable and exactly as described. Thanks so much for the great vacation. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing stress free vacation.

My husband Sam and I were recently married in Marathon, Florida and chose this house to spend our week long honeymoon in. It was amazing and breathtaking. Mariella is such a gracious host and this home is set up to make you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. We appreciated the added little touches she took the time to do being that we were there for our wedding. The size of the home is perfect, the amenities it offers were great. The balcony was wonderful and I loved the early mornings out there and the evening sunsets were really something to see. This was our first trip to the Keys and we have many memories we came home with but the 1 that stands out was how comfortable and easy our vacation was thanks to this wonderful home. Location is fantastic for going anywhere in the Keys as Marathon is almost the half way point of Key Largo and Key West. I would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area and I sure can't wait to return, ideally next summer with our children.

Just returned home from a week in the Keys and SO happy with our decision to stay in this rental. It was clean, comfortable and stylish. Mariella has great taste and has beautifully renovated this home. The king size master bed was SO comfortable...more comfortable than my own in fact! After staying here, I realized that we need a new bed :) My kids, ages 6 and 9, loved the bunk beds AND the ping-pong table. They also had a blast looking for iguanas (we saw a few!), spotting fish in the canal (small barracudas?) and taking the kayak out for a spin. We found this location to be central to everything and we loved having a Publix right around the corner. Mariella has been a pleasure to work with and I truly appreciate the great communication we have had since my initial inquiry on the house. Mariella even contacted us after our arrival to make sure everything was OK and sent us a message on the day of departure wishing us a safe trip home. Very thoughtful! As far as things to do...Sombrero Beach and Bahia Honda were both very nice. But the highlights of our vacation were taking our boat out to Sombrero Reef and taking the seaplane out of Key West to Dry Tortugas. AMAZING!

Mariella, I must praise how conveniently simple you made everything, (instructions strategically placed in all the right spots)... I would recommend this property to anyone and everyone who is looking for some fun in the sun or just plain R & R. (Laying in the hammock was my favorite, I can still hear the light rustling of the palm tree leaves) My friends and I enjoy cooking large meals so I must add the Kitchen was exceptional; with everything you could ever need already there. It felt just like home :) I definitely plan to stay here again...! :)

We would highly recommend this rental to anyone considering visiting the beautiful FL Keys area. The property was very clean and well maintained and the owner couldn't have been more attentive. She even went so far as to contact us during our stay to see if there was anything we needed. We enjoyed having breakfast on the deck every morning and relaxing in the hammock after grilling dinner. The neighborhood is quiet and yet you can walk to area restaurants and shopping. Sombrero Beach in Marathon offers free parking and picnic facilities, there a several state parks in the area, and for those seeking night life and people watching Key West is less than one hour away.

What a gem!! We planned a last-minute getaway and could not have been happier with the house or the wonderful owners that rented it to us. The house is on the water and the included kayak ferried us to the water-front dockside bar/restaurant for many a delicious meal. The house is walkabe to the Crane Point museum, weekend farmers market, grocery store, shopping, and great restaurants. But it is also not too far off the beaten path so the rest of the keys were easily accessible via a short car ride. We especially loved walking the old 7-mile bridge and happy hour at the Sunset Grill. The owners were fantastic - accomodating our last-minute plans and giving us helpful hints for making the most of the house and our vacation. It is so obvious that this house is so much more than a vacation rental to them. It really felt like home. We were especially pleased with the upgraded granite kitchen and newly renovated baths. Everything was spottlessly clean and the house was well-equipped with kitchen appliances (e.g. coffee maker, blender, etc), cable TV/Netflix access, plenty of towels/blankets, in-home laundry, and a beautiful beezy wrap-around porch/deck with super comfy furniture. We also spent many lazy hours lounging on the hammock by the water. We didn't bring the kids this trip, but the bedroom with bunk-beds would have been perfect for a family vacation or get-together with little ones. The house provided a lot of space - I never felt cramped even though it was only 2 bedrooms. Overall, this is the greatest, cleanest place I've found on vrbo to date and we'll be back (hopefully) soon! Thank you for a great break in the beautiful Florida Keys!!

Wow, what a wonderful place! Clean and Modern. Everything you could ask for in a rental home and more. The Kayak was so fun. My husband and I Kayaked at Sombrero Beach. We seen a group of five dolphin. What an amazing extra to this house. We would recommend this property to everyone. The owners are very trust worthy people. And, more then helpful. The house is near many beaches and restaurants. We would recommend Bubbas BBQ in Marathon.We would also recommend the Dolphin Research Center to swim with the dolphins. Key West is awesome. And, the Dry Tortugas National Park is a must. Take the Yankee Freedom II. They are wonderful. Dont miss that trip..And, if you want to rent a beautiful home. Rent this one! You wont be sorry..
