Saturna Island cottage description
Our heritage cottage has been renovated to modern standards. Settled on a private one acre point with morning sunrises to start your day and evening sunsets to finish your day. Low bank ocean front with two sandy beaches and tidal pools for hours of entertainment and great swimming. Next to East Point Park where the orcas travel on a regular basis. You could reach out and touch one, but we advise you use your camera instead! Watch the sea lions, seals and dolphins frolic in the ocean as you relax on the front lawn. Be amazed by the bald eagles diving for their dinner, and be prepared to be startled by a deer nibbling the tree outside the bedroom window. Your stay also gives you access to 44 acres of private hiking trails for your dog to enjoy off leash walks. The cottage is fully equipped with linens, towels, full kitchen and outdoor barbeque. You do not need a 4 wheel drive to reach our retreat as the roads are well paved and great for biking. Bring your boat, kayak, or canoe and launch it at our private boat ramp.

- Saturna Island is the Southernmost of the Gulf Islands. Its small population and remote location make it ideal for vacationers looking for a real get-away from the daily grind. Much of Saturna falls within the Parks Canada Gulf Islands National Park Reserve and provides hiking, whale watching, biking and other opportunities to re-connect with the spectacular nature of the Gulf Islands. ...moreless

10 summers in a row!!
10 summers in a row!!
Our family has been staying in this lovely cottage every summer for the past 10 years. We book the summer before to ensure we have our week, and sometimes 2. The cottage is so private, quaint, clean, and well equipped. I love sitting on the lawn watching the sun rise in the morning, then moving to the other side of the lawn to watch the sun set at the end of the day. Exploring the tide pools provides hours of entertainment, and the swimming beach is nice and sandy. We wait for the whales to come and entertain us as we sit in awe on the rocks. There is nothing as magical as seeing these amazing creatures come up for air only 10 feet away. Our dogs love the long walks to different beaches, hikes in the hills, and swimming in the crystal clear ocean. This is where we have watched our children grow, and even now that they are in their late teens, they still ask if we are going to Saturna!! There is no other place like it. We have stayed in the other cottages, but cottage 6 is the most private. And on the rare rainy day, the fireplace brings a warm ambience to the cottage.

Secluded Get Away
Secluded Get Away
Lovely cabin at the end of the road so it is private. We loved the privacy, no one walking through or by your place. The dogs loved their freedom as well! (beware if your dog is escape artist, no fences). We put out our lounge chairs next to the edge of the property over looking the ocean all cozy in fuzzy blankets, special coffees and watched the bald eagles, the sea lions, had naps in the sun..... The bathroom is tiny but suits your needs, bedrooms are comfortable, kitchen has what you would need to cook most things and the living room is very cozy to curl up in. Loads of options to explore the island right from your door, just pick a direction and discover the island, it is beautiful!

Relaxing and Beautiful!
Relaxing and Beautiful!
We had an excellent stay - walked on the beach, explored the tide pools, sat by the fireplace in the evening and enjoyed our coffee in the morning looking out at the ocean. There is a sandy beach steps away from the cottage that is just the perfect spot to sit and enjoy your surroundings. The kitchen is well equiped with everything you might need, beds are comfy and cozy. There is a general store on the island that has a great selection of everything you might need - bettter than we thought it would be, so next time we will not haul as much food with us. I would highly reccomend this as a get away when you want to truly relax and enjoy nature - oh, but there are some really great hikes on the island as well!
