My wife and I came from the Metro Atlanta area for firearms training at one of the premiere academies in the US (Shootrite Firearms Academy). Let's start with the gracious southern hospitality. I was born and raised in the South. The hosts made me feel like I was back in my childhood, when folks treated you like they would want to be treated. Donna and Dan are the most gracious hosts I have dealt with in many years. I felt like I was staying with close family. Let's now move on to the cabins and cottages. These are new. They are not tired and worn. My wife and I stayed in cottage #2 (a one bedroom cottage) and it was AWESOME. We asked Donna to show us some of the other cottages and cabins that were currently unrented so we would have an idea of all of the offerings for when we come back. They were all new and in immaculate condition. Not only that, but we could see the attention to detail the owners took to make sure the accomodations were spotless for the next customers. Also, every cabin and cottage has extended covered parking for a vehicle and the boat it is pulling. We didn't pull a boat up there. But it was definitely nice to have a covered area to park our vehicle in the shade so the summer sun didn't turn the interior into an oven. And they now have an ice maker on location to fill your cooler up without having to pay for ice. Another really nice benefit of this place is the quiet and out of the way location. Speaking of which, there was no traffic. And if I remember right, the speed limit is 35 mph on the road out front. That means no one hauling the mail where you are looking for peace and quiet. And to be able to see the stars was a very nice thing since we have so much light pollution from where we come. Now for the location. If you are here for firearms training, you will be centrally located to the only restaurant/store (good food, by the way) and the training academy. You will have no longer than a three minute drive from the cabin/cottage to either the restaurant/store or the training. In fact, I did not see any rental closer to either location. And if you are here for the lake, the same applies. You will not be driving a long way to drop your boat in the water. This location is perfect for any activity. We plan on coming back this summer to rent wave runners/pontoon boat (Donna might be able to help you out if you are looking for the same). I look forward to seeing Donna and Dan again. We miss y'all already!

Owner response: THANK YOU! We had a great time. Come back soon and dont forget your flashlight for the next boatride. Donna and Dan.

Easy to find, located seconds from two easy, well lit boat ramps, gas nearby in 2 locations, EXTREMELY clean and well maintained, grounds spotless, great AC, fantastic sat. flat screen tv, owner extra friendly, fully furnished, quiet, no headaches with your fishing gear, set up for boats to drive around and stay hooked for the next outting, would most certainly recommend to anyone fishing lake Guntersville in the mid lake area. Right on South Saulty creek gives access north or south to excellent fishing locations. Grill, water, covered boat garage, power hook up, great lighting, roomy, comfortable, big bathroom, no gates to worry with about being shut blocking your entrance exit at the wee hours. If it gets better than this for Guntersville lake, I don't know about it. I will be back, MULTIPLE times!!!

Fisherman's Landing not only has this property but several park model houses only 1/4 mile away from South Sauty dock. We stayed in #2 one bedroom, one bath park model. Everything was so nice. The area is very peaceful. The rental was super clean and modern. There is a grill just outside the covered porch, towels are provided and there is even a storm shelter and ice machine within steps of the one we rented for the week. Donna, who owns the property, was great, very accommodating and made us feel welcome. She ever offered to wash our clothes!! The price was very reasonable. Me and my husband take several trips to Lake Guntersville each year and have found it very difficult to find a rental that is affordable (we only require 1 bed/bath and most rentals are for multiple beds/bath which increase the price). This was perfect!!

My family of 4 decided to take a fishing vacation at Lake Guntersville. My wife found Fisherman's Landing online and we gave Donna a call to get more info about her place. We stayed in the four bedroom cabin. The cabin was excellent and looked brand new. We loved the open floor plan that was great for spending family time together. The accommodations were just as advertised and Donna was a great help with directions to restaurants and other local attractions. Would definitely visit again!!

I'm always leary of renting a room or cottage at a place I've never stayed before. I'm sure others are as well. Let me assure you need not worry about Fisherman's Landing! The cabin we stayed in was wonderful - clean, roomy, well equiped and comfortable. The rates are more than reasonable and you won't be disappointed. I looked at a 1 bedroom cottage (already thinking about going back with my son) and it was just as unbelievable. No matter whether you rent a cabin or cottage, you will be pleasantly suprised with the amount of room. And I've never stayed at a resort where you had 40' of covered shelter for a boat and vehicle. Two outside electrical outlets made it easy to charge the boat batteries with the on-board charger and use my small charger on the spare battery I had brought. But what seperates this resort from others is the friendly owners, Donna and Dan, and how customer-oriented they are. Donna was making a trip to town and called to see if there was anything she could pick up for us. NOW THAT'S CARING ABOUT YOUR GUEST! I traveled to 44 states and 17 foreign countries during my working years, and I've NEVER had anything like that happen. That's Southern Hospitality at its best. You owe it to yourself to try Fisherman's Resort. I just hope they're not completely booked when I call next time. If they are, I'm happy for them - I'll just have to find when they have a vacancy and reschedule my trip. I wouldn't consider anywhere else on Guntersville Lake.

Our pleasure to get to know you guys. We had a group check in the day you left from your home town. They know you and hated to hear you had to leave before they could visit you here. Come to see us anytime. Happy Fishin! Donna and Dan.

My husband and I have stayed at Fisherman's Landing on two separate occasions (our Son and his family have also stayed). The setting is beautiful. The cabins are exactly as shown - super nice, super clean and absolutely perfect for our needs. My husband loves that our boat is covered and right beside the cabin. The cabins have everything you could possibly need and if you were to come up with something you needed that wasn't there, Donna would make sure to get it for you. In fact, as great as this place is, what really makes it so special are the people who own and operate it. You end up feeling more like their friends than their customers. Can't wait to get back there!

Owner response: Thank you so much! Many times we have questioned if we were in our right minds doing this with all the hard work it involves, But everyday we meet so many wonderful people like you and its ALL WORTH IT.! Mrs. D with the big fish! Happy Fishin, Donna

My family of 13 stayed in the 4 bed room cabin for New Years Eve. We celebrated a late Christmas and New Years Eve on the same day. This was our 3rd stay at Fisherman's Landing. As usual everything we needed was there. Donna was wonderful to work with and made our stay feel like home. The weather was nicel so we were able to go on a hike to the water to watch the ducks. The children played outside while we sat on the carport. The cabin was clean and that is something we really pay attention to since we own a cleaning company. I would recommend this cabin or the two bedroom to anyone looking for a nice place to get away. Before I do though I will be calling Donna to re-book for next year. Thanks Donna for being there for our family and helping make this a great place to get together.

My parents rented the four bedroom cabin for our family's Christmas gathering. The cabin is so well laid out that we never felt crowded even though there were 8 of us staying overnight. The cabin has plenty of space to gather together in the living room or find a quiet spot on the front porch, side patio or balcony. The cabin was neat and very clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook our traditional Christmas breakfast. There is also a wonderful cafe and store within walking distance or a short drive. Great owners to work with. Donna was just a phone call away and was very helpful. Seventeen family members showed up for breakfast. Donna allowed us to bring in. tables from the on-site pavilion for extra seating. Everyone had a great time. We are already talking about staying next Christmas. Thanks, Donna and Dan for one of the best times our family has had!
