  Our time in this cottage could not have been more perfect. The house was well equipped with everything we could possibly need for our family of four. We particularly appreciated the towels, sunscreen, beach chairs, swim shoes, and boogie boards--it was so nice to not have to worry about packing or buying those things! The location was wonderful, especially the close proximity (only a couple of miles) to Sandy Beach, the sea-life park, and takeout food options in Waimanalo. We loved sitting on the lanai and taking in the view and watching sunrises from the pier. We saw fish and turtles as we snorkeled right off of the pier. Most special were the sailboat rides Mike gave us--what a memorable and much appreciated touch! And they will always remember how he helped the kids cut down and open a coconut. The kids feel that if they ever return to Hawaii it will not be the same unless they stay in this house again. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

  Mahalo Mike and Jeanne for a wonderful stay! The beach is beautiful and the house is charming! I just wish you had some control over the weather, but we did get a couple of gorgeous days! For our first trip to Hawaii it was amazing! We would love to be able to bring our kids and stay in the bigger house some day!

  Love this place!! Sad to leave. This beach is sooo peacefull. The left side of the pier is perfect for swimming. The right side is full of turtles!! Don't miss them! Amazing time! Such a beautiful place! Can't wait to come back!

  Such a wonderful house and amazing location. Sunrises on the dock, snorkeling with the gree sea turtles, the sound of the ocean at night, swinging, playing, laughing. Mahalo for a wonderful vacation.

  Writing a note to you in this journal makes me sad because it means our week in paraside has come to an end. My boys just loved every minute being here in the Honu Hale. Tree-housing, swinging, beach combing or spotting fish from the pier...all were fun filled experiences I hope they will not soon forget. As for the adults, we couldn't ask for a better view. My time here has certainly helped me ease into my forties and I could not have asked for a more special birthday. Thank you for your kindness and generosity in sharing your home. It was so nice to visit with you and learn your story. We hope this was not our last visit to the Honu Hale

  Thank you for your hospitality! The house is well equipped and well organized. Very lovely home!! Our 4 year old son was very delighted with the tricks: lovely tree house, pier, beach and many toys. Mike really cared about our son. He put many toys for the beach in the garden like a Santa Claus! Thank you! Natural noise of waves and the tree leaves lead us into a calm sleep. Viewing the sunrise between the islands with birds songs was a morning delight. We can't wait to come back!

  We really enjoyed spending time in the Honu Hale. It was definitely a home away from home! The kids had the best time as well and we can't wait to come back! Mike, you did an exceptional job building that treehouse and we have loved al the swings and hammocks! Thanks for having such a wonderful property for us to enjoy!

  This compound (all three houses) is truly wonderful, and the grounds are impeccably maintained. We rent the smallest (the cottage) for ourselves, and the larger houses for friends and family. The cottage is great for two adults, and possibly one small child. The two-story Nalo was wonderful for my sister's family - six adults with room to spare! We took two of the three houses for a mini-family reunion this year and look forward to renting all three in the future. The views are breath-taking. The dock is fun for fishing and for watching the sunrise over Makapuu lighthouse. The location is perfect for visiting famous beaches to the south, or for heading into Kailua and up to the north shore. Two great farmers markets (Kailua on Thursdays and Diamond Head on Saturdays) are only 15-20 minutes away. Waimanalo is really an undiscovered hideaway... and I hope it stays that way. A definite bonus is the attentiveness of the owners and their manager - will answer emails and phone calls immediately. You cannot go wrong by renting any of these three properties.

  "This was the vacation of a lifetime! We so enjoyed the property ~ the view is amazing, the pier is an invitation to relax and the shoreline provided ample oppurtunity for exploration. Our son loved running around in his diaper, soaking up the ocean breeze. We hardly ventured from this paradise, but when we did, we loved eating at the Yellow bus and Bluewater Grill. Yum! Thank you for the warm hospitality Mike and Jeanne. You are wonderful to share your paradise with us."
