We rented the Reclusive Moose cabin for our first trip to Glacier, and were so glad we did. We found the secluded cabin without trouble. It is perfectly located near the park, but in its own private forest. We enjoyed the lovely front porch for morning coffee and a glass of wine under the stars. The cabin itself was spotless and very well equiped. We had all we needed, including good cell service and wifi. This cabin is the perfect home base for expoloring the park. We would love to return someday to GNP, and we hope the Reclusive Moose cabins are available. We would recommend this rental to anyone.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you Mike for posting. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us & found everything you needed. We are always willing to share a little piece of Montana. You & your family are always welcome back to the Reclusive Moose & we hope to see you again soon in the future.

Just spent a week at the Reclusive Moose in the Elk cabin. These cabins are very nice, fully equipped, spacious, and secluded. Everything you need is there. They are located very close to West Glacier Park. Ryan and Christie, the owners live across the road and they are very knowledgeable of the area, where to go and what to be sure to see. Deer roamed around in woods during the week. You can really enjoy Big Sky country at the Reclusive Moose.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

This is a really neat place to stay. The stars at night are great, the cabins are new and have everything you need. The kitchen is fully equiped and it also has a gas grill and firepit. Great location and while really secluded in the woods it is easy to find and also had full cell phone and WiFi access. We were 5 adults and that worked well in the Bear cabin. It is would be good for families with small children as well.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

The clean and comfortable cabin was exactly as described. Perfectly sized for our family of four. The setting is just like you are still in the park without any crowds. The owners are very friendly and approachable. They provided great ideas for hiking, getting around the Park and seeing the local community.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

The Reclusive Moose Cabin is as advertised unlike some places that we have stayed. We wanted to stay in a place close to Glacier National Park, and where the atmosphere was as if we never left the park. We used all of the ameninties, and enjoyed all of the comforts. We enjoyed the Montana sky and Apgar Mountains from the hot tub. Watching a moose and her calf from the deck while eating a grilled dinner was a real treat. We caught a glimpse of a black bear in the back, saw elk on Blankenship Rd, and a real rarity was seeing the Reclusive Moose on Lake Five Rd on the way back from GNP. You can ask the owners about the Reclusive Moose. The friendly owners are nearby and helpful. All of the conveniences listed making staying here easy, and we are sure to stay here when coming back to Glacier. Brought our 2 boys and mom and pop in law to see Glacier for the week. It was a great location and extremely relaxing. Having tried staying in a hotel in previous years it was very nice to have a true home base where we could have family time yet not feel like we were all on top of each other. Next time we're in West Glacier we'll not hesitate to stay again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers.

We really enjoyed the quaint cabin for a place to relax. We spent a lot of time on the road visiting Glacier, but the cabin was close to the park and a relaxing place to sleep and rest. It was also nice to have a kitchen so we could prepare some meals and snacks and not have to eat out every meal. We wish we would have seen more wildlife, but there are no guarantees.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: We are a newly married couple that moved to Montana over 10 years ago. We both work in the hospitality business. We are delighted to offer our guest a new cabin in the Glacier National Park area.
Why the Owner Chose West Glacier:
We came to Montana to work & vacation in Glacier National Park for the summer. We fell in love with the area & wanted to live as close to Glacier as we could. We found a small log cabin that we made our own.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
From these beautiful 5 acres, we are always amazed at all the wildlife, from the reclusive moose, black bears, coyotes, deer & wolves. We also have many colorful birds for all those birdwatchers. This location is convenient to the park & town. We also have alot of hiking & boating adventures here too.
