  This studio is a perfect place to stay for a quiet weekend getaway. Cosy, private and conveniently located from Grass Valley and Nevada City Downtown. It is very clean, nicely decorated and well-quipped. Highly recommended.

  We just made our second visit to this wonderful hideaway and had another very pleasant time. The apartment is clean and cozy. The weather was nicer this visit so we were able to sit out on the patio and entertain friends who were visiting Grass Valley the same weekend we were. Much as we would love to keep this great find a secret, we must give it a great review. The communication with the owners is excellent and the price can't be beat. We especially enjoy being away from the downtown area in this secluded, relaxing space. Thanks for making it available for rent!

  We drove down to the gated entry and when we opened the gate we had our own private little world with a sweet little creek and a wooded area. The patio off the unit is so serene. Everything was so perfect! We were welcomed by Francis and his dog and then we were left alone to enjoy our serenity by the creek. Definitely a place we will return to unwind from the day-to-day routine and also a place where one person could come and know that they could have some "alone" time and feel safe. We highly recommend the Last Resort to anyone wanting to get away to relax. It is a step away from the hustle and the bustle! An absolute gem.   This wonderful hide away was the perfect place for us to spend Memorial Day weekend. Away from the crowds, but close to everything we wanted to do. And SO relaxing. The decor is wonderful and we only wish the weather had been warmer and drier so we could have enjoyed the nice outdoor patio space. We hope to return very soon!

  This is a lovely, private and peaceful retreat. It has everything you might need with special touches in the kitchen and bath, like the hot water kettle for tea. The fireplace, deck and little stream really make this a gem. The owners are accommodating and professional.

  I rented this studio for a girls weekend to celebrate my birthday. It was a great spot to be able to relax. We LOVED the fireplace and the space was very cozy. It was close enough to any dining/shopping places but cozy enough to be in the woods. I am recommending this place to all my friends. Thanks for a fun weekend!

  I have nothing but positive things to say about "the last resort." It is a quaint creekside cottage with more charm than one would think could fit between its four walls. It is homey and warm. A great patio for brunch or a glass of wine at night (season permitting). The fireplace lights the place up at night creating a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!

  We are a married couple looking for a weekend getaway. We found it in this cozy, clean, warm studio! We were not able to enjoy the outdoors because it rained most of the weekend we were there, but the indoor setting was comfortable and charming with everything we needed. We will definitely be back next time we stay in Grass Valley or Nevada City!

  "The Last Resort" is a great find! The unit has everything one needs and is located in a very quiet setting with a creek just a few feet away. Spotless room with attention to detail, close to town, a perfect spot to stay in Grass Valley. This is one of those finds that in a way you don't want to tell everyone about so you can keep it to yourself. That being said, we will be returning to "The Last Resort" several times a year.

  I had a perfect two night stay. The owners are the best and allow you quiet, secure, cared-for solitude. I even did my morning yoga on the patio by the creek! Doesn't get much better than that. Highly recommend.
